Review! Lululemon Commuter Sling Bag 3.5L

Hope you're all enjoying the last days of summer. We have 30 days left before it's officially fall. Don't get me wrong, I love fall weather and fall clothes. It's my favorite time of the year. Changing of the leaves and the cooler temperatures make me happy but it also reminds me that another year is almost over. Time just keeps passing by. Before you know it, it's 2024!

Today I have a review of Lululemon's Commuter Sling Bag 3.5L. For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall.

I actually purchased this sling bag for my husband, but he said it's too small for him. He's looking for something bigger that can hold his hoodie. This sling bag can be found under mens accessories but I think this bag is unisex and can be carried by everyone. I'm only 4 feet 11, and the bag doesn't look huge when I wear it on my back.

I like that the bag has a very slim profile. It looks very chic and stylish as far as sling bags go. When you need to access your items, sling the bag to the front and I found it easy to get in and out of.

It does look a bit too big when I carry the bag in the front like a crossbody belt bag.

Please check out my video to show what fits inside!

Measurements - 10.6" x 6.5" x 2.4"

Let's take a look at the details of the sling bag. It's mainly logo free and while there is a tiny logo in the corner, it's so subtle with it being black on black. There's also a rubber Lululemon tag on the side of the bag, but it's mainly hidden between the creases and I had to pull it out to get a good photograph of it. If you prefer your bags logo free, this is the one for you.

The back of the sling bag has a zippered pocket which is where I would definitely put my card case or wallet. As a native New Yorker, getting pick pocketed is always on my mind. The pocket on the back of the bag makes this the most secure pocket.

The strap is fully adjustable and very comfortable to wear.

What really impressed me with this bag is the option to switch the strap from the left shoulder or the right shoulder. For me, I have to have the strap on my left shoulder. I have seen some sling bags where there is only one way to carry it, and it's on your right shoulder and for me that would be a deal breaker.

Simply unsnap the strap to switch to the other side.

The front zippered compartment holds your keys and other small items. There is also a small pocket to organize your things. I would probably keep receipts and other random items in the front pocket. My portable charger for my phone would fit nicely in there.

Small pocket.

The main compartment is fairly roomy. There is also another zippered pocket to stash small items. There are lots of pockets to keep your things organized.

Here's a comparison of the Everywhere Belt Bag side by side to the Commuter Sling Bag.

The fabric is very different from the Everywhere Belt Bag. The Commuter Sling Bag is more textured and feels like a typical backpack. This is a high quality bag and the price reflects that. It's priced at $88 and I actually think it is worth it. When you need to carry a little bit more, the sling bag is a great option to have. I hope to see this in more colors.

Plus, the zipper pull is metal!

Don't forget to check out my video to see what fits. That's it for me! Let me know what you think of this sling bag. Have a fantastic start to a brand new week!

  1. hi Leslie! Thanks for the review! I think this is a great find! When worn on the back, the bag doesn't look too big at all. I find the everywhere belt bag a bit too small for my everyday needs because I carry my sunglasses case and a regular sized wallet. This one looks more practical. I like the multiple compartments and minimalistic design.

How is your shoulder doing? I hope you're getting better everyday! Have a good week!

    1. Hi Karen! Agreed, I couldn't find anything I didn't like about the bag. It's a great bag even with the higher price point. It may be the next it bag.

Thanks for asking! Shoulder is getting better, I have a follow up appointment with my doctor tomorrow. I am hoping he gives me the go ahead! I'll keep you posted. =)

  2. Thanks for posting about this bag. So many great Lululemon bags, kinda hard to keep up and I don't have much space. I'll just admire the bag through your post. Have a great week ahead.

  3. I was eyeing this bag! I think it's a perfect size for you. I want it but but my mom gifted me the All Day Essentials bag in Trench/Brown Earth and I love it and don't need another bag right now. I can carry all my daily stuff and have room for more unlike my EBB bag. I wear it as a crossbody and prefer that over a belt bag.

    1. Hi Janessa! The All Day Essentials bag is cute, I like that there is a handle at the top. I'm also eyeing the City Adventurer Belt Bag in Twilight Rose. I'm such a sucker for that color.

  4. Do you think this can fit a mirrorless camera with a lens?

    1. I'm not familiar with that, can you send me a link to what it looks like? The bag is pretty slim, I don't think it would fit anything more than say 3-4 inches wide and it would make the bag look bulky.

    3. I don’t think that will fit. Looks too bulky for this sling bag. Without the lens I may fit.

  5. Hi Leslie,
Thank you so much for the review. I ordered the Commuter Sling bag for my husband which just arrived and he loves it!

It’s pricey but totally worth it. Very functional with all the pockets and compartments, and you can wear it in so many different ways. I will get one for myself if it comes in a pretty color. :)

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed
