Fit Review Friday! Rothy's The Weekend Slide & WMTM Update!

Happy Friday! Now that it's really hot, I've been wearing my Allbirds Sugar Sliders more often, but I wanted something a little bit more elevated for going out with my husband on date night. When Rothy's released The Weekend Slide, they sold out pretty quickly but I was able to pre-order for their next round of shipment. It took about a month before they arrived at my front door.

For reference I typically wear size 5 in Rothy's The Point and The Driver.

Now that it's Friday, I'll be sliding right into the weekend. Sorry, I couldn't help myself. 😆 These sandals are casual but more elevated than your typically flip flops or beachwear. The wide criss cross straps are made of soft hemp. The straps feel slightly stretchy, at least that's the feel of it when I'm walking. The rubber footbed is smooth, sturdy and very comfortable.

I absolutely love the tortoise shell outsole with the blue Rothy's logo. It has decent traction and feels supportive when walking. I haven't worn these in the rain, so I can't say if they would be slippery or not.

The best part of these sandals? They are machine washable! That's the only reason why I ordered the Oat color instead of black. Oat is an off white, creamy shade that would go with any outfit. If they do get dirty I can at least throw them in the wash.

I purchased my usual size 5 and I do think they run a little long. They're very comfortable and I decided to keep them anyway. Now I am wondering if I need to pick these up in black as well!

What's your favorite summer sandal? Let me know if you tried The Weekend Slide. I think they're seriously the perfect summer sandal. That's it for me! Hope you all have a lovely weekend. 😊

  1. Hi Leslie,
I love the simple yet elegant design of the sandals! I think they look prettier in Oat than Black but you might make more use out of the latter. I'm not a sandals person and only wear my Birkenstock ones a few times every summer. Just don't feel comfortable showing my toes LOL.

Just an update on my fit review of the Farallon Pants. I ordered a pair in Petite XS first and then placed another order for a pair of Regular XS. The latter arrived but the Petite XS pair still hasn't been shipped. Coastline Blue is SOOOOO pretty and wish I got it in the Pranayama Restore Wrap which is now sold out in XXS. :(

Regular XS is full length on me but too bad XS is too big, with too much fabric around the hips. The fabric is slightly too thick for my liking as well so I will be returning the pants. I believe the Petite XS pair will also fit big and it'll be more like a pair of crops rather than pants. I hope Athleta carries more stock in XXS cos this size is sold out fast.

    Have a good weekend, Leslie!

    1. Hi Andrea! That's too bad the XS didn't fit. XXS does sell out faster because they don't make that many in that size. I looked and the US has the XXS in Pranayama Restore Wrap, but they don't have in the petite sizes at all. The Farallon Pant is also sold out in almost all the sizes in Coastline Blue. They go fast! There is a chance there could be a restock if someone returns it. It's worth keeping an eye out. I did place another order this morning for some linen shorts. I haven't really tried their linen line and would like to see how they are in person.

    2. I only wear Petite sizes for bottoms, Leslie. I wear tops in regular sizing and the sleeve length fits me better. Oh I wish they had the Pranayama Wrap in Coastline Blue in XXS on the Canadian site. It's been sold out for a while ...

  2. The oat slides are perfect for summer! I don't have any casual sandals except my all birds sliders since I don't wear sandals much but they look pretty :). I got my HH HR in flush pink and the color is a warm baby pink! I am usually a 2 but I think I'm more in between a 2 and a 4 lately and also ordered the 4 to try. The 2 liner cut into my glute a tiny bit.

    1. Hi Janessa! I love my Allbirds Sugar Sliders too. I have two pairs. I have noticed the HH's have been running a tad small. I ordered it in Atomic Purple. Hopefully they aren't making them even smaller, I bought my usual size 4.

    2. My white ones I bought a year ago fit smaller than the ones from three years ago (can't say how much bc I sized down in the first release but the difference between the old 0 and 2 isn't much though I definitely need a 2 now since I've gained more leg strength) .
My icing blue ones fit a little looser and nicely. I think The lighter color just shows the liner more on my white and flush pink ones. I'll update you tomorrow if the 4 is too baggy.

    3. I tried the size 4 today. I have been a TTS 2 for a while but have gained more mass in my legs and a little in my waist so 2 can feel too snug if it's not aligns... anyways the 4 fits me like I have nothing on. The butt fits well and the waist is a tiny bit loose but really comfortable. My biggest problem is my lack of hips making the shorts flair out on the side like a skirt. My mom and sis says the 2 looks better on me except the butt part looks a little snug. My measurements are 24/25 waist and 33.5 ish hips (at the widest). I might return both and get some softstreme shorts instead... not sure yet!

    4. Sorry to spam you :P but I tried on both some more and the 4 fits more comfortable and if I were to keep a pair I'd pick the 4 since the 2 looks a tiny tight and thus quite short.

    5. Ah, makes sense. I have been loving my Hotty Hots for the last 3-4 years now. I guess all good things eventually come to an end. I say unless the comfort is fantastic, maybe wait for something else. Shorts at $68 is a bit too much that isn't quite perfect. I'll let you know how the Atomic Purple is when they arrive! Thanks for the update!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
