Fit Review! Aviator Nation 5 Stripe Relaxed Hoodie

Hope everyone had an amazing weekend! I went to Avalon yesterday to make some returns and I had no problems returning the Strongfeel Training Shoe I purchased from WMTM. I was issued a gift card and was on my way. While I was walking around I noticed a lot more people were wearing Aviator Nation, especially teenagers. The whole time I'm thinking, wow how do they afford it? Or dang their parents must be really rich! I know my mom would have smacked me for even looking at something that expensive when I was 12 years old. 😆 Kids are lucky these days!

For reference I typically wear size XS in Aviator Nation and I also wear size 4 in Lululemon tops.

I know skinny jeans are no longer in style, but I can't seem to trade them in for wide leg jeans. I wouldn't mind trying straight leg jeans or something slightly looser than these. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have not tried on new jeans in a long time. The one I'm wearing are really old Athleta jeans from maybe 4 years ago? I'm just happy they still fit. 😆

Aviator Nation released a relaxed fit version of their 5 Stripe Hoodie. The relaxed hoodie features dropped sleeves. It's slouchy and slightly oversized. I actually don't find the sleeves to be too long or bothersome. They cuff keeps them from going past my wrists.

I'm wearing my usual size XS and love it so much. I asked my husband if he thought it was too big and he said it looks really cute and flattering, so it's a keeper in my book! It's super soft and cozy. This is a hoodie that I can wear all year round because it's very lightweight even with it being lined in fleece. If the neon stripes aren't for you, they do have another version with their signature rainbow stripe

That's it for me! Hope you all have a wonderful start to a brand new week!

  1. hi Leslie! I haven't bought jeans for years now. I've been spoiled by the comfort of leggings and joggers, and now I can't go back!

    1. Hi Karen! I'm totally with you, I live in joggers and Softstreme but my husband likes seeing me in jeans. (grumble) so I keep a couple of pairs around.

  2. Hi Leslie,
This is such a cute hoodie and I love that it’s slouchy but not overwhelming on your petite frame. The color is gorgeous too!

Just wish it was not that pricey! :D

    1. Hi Andrea! Thanks! I try and wait until they have sales for all my purchases. They do have them pretty often.

  3. I got the neon stripes in purple. At first, I wasn't sure if I liked the relaxed style, the sleeves have almost a dolman feel, but I agree that for being "oversized" the fit is flattering. I'm liking it more now, especially with a pair of cutoff or slightly tighter shorts to balance them out. I'm loving the sky blue on you!

My daughter is in high school and I see quite a few of the girls wearing Aviator Nation. I was surprised too, but decided if their moms are wearing it, then it was only a matter of time. My observation is that they usually have 1 or 2 that they wear on repeat. (So, they are getting more for their money per wears than me!) I'm embarrassed to say that I've got a large collection going, so I gave a lesser worn one to my daughter. That could also be how the younger kids are ending up with them too?

I like Risen jeans for the straight/bootcut style. Fairly stretchy and comfortable. I bought a few pairs that are kind of between skinny jeans and the full flare. I can't do wide leg jeans, it makes me feel unattractive. A more fitted bootcut works better for me. I do still wear the skinny ones sometimes, and then mix in the bootcut ones.

    1. Hi Stacy! I love the purple one too. I'm hoping they release more colors in this style. Hahaha, you and me both. Since I started buying two years ago, my collection is slowly getting bigger. I have to cut myself off from buying more pullovers. True, I do think passing down to teens is probably what's happening most of the time, either way, they're some lucky kids!

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into the Risen jeans. I can't do wide leg jeans, but straight leg I can do. I haven't tried bootcut in a while. May have to get some and see if that's changed?

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
