Happy May! I can't believe a week has passed since I've been back from my Chicago trip. Time just flies when you're having fun. This was my first business trip, ever in my entire life. My manager is based out of the Chicago office and he invited the Atlanta team to visit. I'm glad my husband was able to come with me. Neither of us have ever been to Chicago and Jared absolutely loved it. He loves Chicago so much that he says he would move there in a heartbeat. 😬 Is Chicago in my future one day? I think it's too cold for me. I'm so done with winters and snow.
View from the hotel.
This chocolate factory smelled so good when we walked by. I love chocolate!
Dinner at La Scarola. I had the Chilean Sea Bass special.
Lunch the next day - Luke's Lobster. I haven't had one of these since I moved from New York!
First time trying Chicago style deep dish pizza. It was interesting, the crust is like pie crust!
Ramen-San- Tonkotsu.
Billy Goat - ate an egg and cheese on a roll!
Took an Architectural Boat Tour.
I highly recommend it. I learned a lot about Chicago's architectural history.
Everyone taking the same photo of the Chicago skyline. 😆
Of course I had to see the Bean.
Totally trippy!
Chicago has the largest Starbucks in the world!! There are five floors and a roof deck.
Chicago Water Tower. This is one of the structures that survived the Great Chicago Fire of 1871.
A rare photo of me and Jared. He hates having his photo taken, but he allowed this one.
We're both wearing our Aviator Nation hoodies. 😍
Kyuramen- Vegetable Ramen with tofu. I'm really pleased that they are opening one near me in Atlanta!
I had to see what their Chinatown looked like. It's legit.
Dim sum at Minghin. Better than what we can get in Atlanta. I still think New York is better though!
Overall, Chicago is a city that we will happily visit again. It's super walkable. In one day, we walked nearly 10 miles which is something we haven't done since leaving Boston/New York. It's what we miss most about living in the northeast. However, the next day it was snowing and sleeting which I do not miss at all! I guess we'll just have to visit when winter season is officially over. We'll definitely be back!
That's it for me, hope you enjoyed the photos. Have a great start to a brand new month!
Looks like you’ve had a wonderful trip, Leslie! :)

Hi Andrea! I really did. I hope you're enjoying your trip away as well. =)
DeleteThanks for sharing the pictures! I've never been to Chicago and it looks like a fun place to visit when warm. The lobster roll looks delicious!!
ReplyDeleteHi Blueberries! Luke's Lobster is amazing. If you ever get a chance to try it, do it!
DeleteHi Lola! I'm a sucker for ramen, so my favorite was probably at Kyuramen. The pizza is different from what I'm used to, I think I prefer Sicilian pizza best. But I would be willing to try deep dish again though.
ReplyDeleteFive floors of Starbucks?? Wow! ALL the food looks so good. I want some of that ramen and croissants. D:
ReplyDeleteStarbucks was crazy- definitely a tourist spot. Ramen is my favorite. Would never say no!
