Fit Review Friday! Aritzia Plateau Luxe Cashmere Hoodie and Alftan Luxe Cashmere Cardigan

Happy Friday! We've got 11 days left to February. Frugal February challenge is going by so fast. Exciting news! Lulu finally dropped the Scuba Cropped Hoodie and I purchased sizes 4 and 6 for a fit review, because I'm dying to see this in person after a month of waiting for this item to drop. Full disclosure, I will be returning the hoodies and will wait for a darker color if I really love the fit. I ordered the hoodie in Bone and I already have a couple of off white hoodies and do not need another.

For today's review, I was really curious to see how Aritzia's cashmere compares to Naked Cashmere. As some of you know, I have fallen in love with Naked Cashmere over the last couple of years. Let's see how Artizia's cashmere stacks up.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size XS in Naked Cashmere. I also wear size 4 in Lululemon tops.

I fell in love with this rosey-mauve color called Red Willow. This hoodie is currently on sale for half off and it is also a finale sale item. After reading a handful of reviews, I decided to go with size XS. I would say it's true to size. It's semi-fitted and the length hits at high hip. Personally I would have preferred a slightly longer length. I think if I end up purchasing another one of these in the future, I would size up for a longer length and slightly looser fit.

The cashmere is soft, but it isn't as silky as Naked Cashmere. However, I did not find it to be itchy even though it almost feels like it could be merino wool if I had my eyes closed. The cashmere is medium weight and has a smooth knit feel. I'm wearing it with a pair of Naked Cashmere joggers for a cozy stay-at-home outfit.

I'm a fan of oversized grandma cardigans and love wearing them to the office. They look great with a pair of slim fit ankle pants and some flats. When I saw the Alftan Luxe Cashmere Cardigan was also 50% off, I couldn't resist.

This v-neck cardigan runs large, I sized down to a 2XS and it's still very roomy. I could have gotten a 3XS and it would have still fit. The sleeves are long and I wear them rolled up once. In the photos, they are shown full length.

This cardigan is lightweight. Very soft and not itchy.

Verdict? Naked Cashmere still has my heart. But for the price, Artizia's cashmere is the better deal, especially at the sale price. I can't speak to the longevity of Aritzia's cashmere, but for now I am very pleased with these two pieces. That's it for me! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

The sale is still going on and I added these to my wish list. Grapevine would work well with my skin tone, and would love to add the zip-up to my closet!

Just dropped!

I've been whining about this for a month and now that it FINALLY dropped I did place an order for a fit review. I hear it runs small, so I went with size 4 and a size 6 to try, but wondering if I should have gotten a size 8 as well. I will be returning and will probably wait for a darker color to come out if I end up loving the fit.

  1. hi Leslie! Thanks for the fit review! I think both the hoodie and cardigan look good on you. The hoodie fits you well at the shoulders and the length is flattering! The colour reminds me of Brier Rose and suits your skin tone. Have a happy Friday!

  2. Thanks for the heads up, Leslie! I'm tempted to order the Scuba Full-Zip Cropped Hoodie but I know it will be too cropped for my liking. I'm however interested in reading your fit review!

The Alftan Luxe Cashmere Cardigan is so pretty in Red Willow. I don't mind the roominess in the body, but the sleeves are definitely too long. Will you be keeping it?

    1. Hi Andrea! Both items were finale sale because of the steep discount. The sleeves are long but I don't mind them cuffed up. That's how I usually wear my sweaters anyway. =)

  3. Argh, I caved on my no-buy and ordered the Cropped Scuba in Bone. I didn't want to miss out on this one, and I've been admiring that color in other items for a while now. As penance, I'm going to try to no-buy in March as well :) It looks like it will fit small in the waist, so I sized up. Hopefully the sleeves won't be too long as a result.

That rose color is very flattering on you! I like the styles of both sweaters. The zip-up version looks really nice too, especially in the Grapevine color!

    1. Hi Lola! I have a few items in White Opal and I feel like it would be too close to Bone. I'll do a comparison photo, I ordered the Cropped Scuba in Bone too. I wish I could join you in March but I'm already planning fit reviews!

I have the Grapevine zip up on my wish list! I hope it's still there on March 1st. =)

    2. So the Cropped Scuba arrived. Not sure how I feel about it yet. I'm thinking my tts would have been better than the size up. Love the Bone color though, and it is comfy. It just looks a little weird on, in my opinion. I'll be interested to hear what you think about yours.

    3. I got mine too. I ordered my usual size 4 and the 6. I think I prefer the length of the size 6 but the fit of the size 4. There's also no pockets though, which I realize makes sense because it's so cropped there's literally no where to put pockets. I'll have a proper fit review up for Friday!

  4. I also bought the scuba cropped in bone! Sz 4. As a petite, I love the length! I love everything about it but don't have much chance to wear my scuba these days... Tend to do heavy rotation on my define cropped jackets 😅 the aritzia top looks cute! Is it hard to care for cashmere items? (Thinking laundry day!)

    1. Hi Blueberries! I'm excited to get the Scuba Cropped hoodie. I hope the sleeves aren't super long. I wear my Scuba's and my Aviator Hoodies the most. I don't own anymore Define Jackets.

Ever since I discovered Dryel, it's so easy it's at home dry cleaning. If I get it stained or dirty then I'll bring it to the professionals.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
