Fit Review! Brushed Softstreme Ribbed 1/2 Zip & Pranayama Restore Wrap

Happy Monday! I'm still very much into winter whites at the moment. I wore the Brushed Softstreme Ribbed 1/2 Zip in White Opal with the Brushed Softstreme Split-Hem HR Crop in Natural Ivory and Athleta's Westbound Sherpa Jacket in Abalone Gray out to dinner with my husband and felt really pretty. 😊 I really should have made him take a photo! Next time.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and size PXS in Athleta.

As most of you know, I'm a huge fan of Softstreme, so to no one's surprise, I love this top. I already wore it a couple of times. It's just so soft and easy to wear. I purchased my usual size 4 in Lululemon tops and find it to be true to size. It's loose but not oversized. Casual, but not sloppy. The length is cropped but I didn't find it to show any skin even with my arms raised up with my Venice Joggers. It does pair well with high-rise pants. However if you prefer wearing Vuori Performance joggers, it would show a sliver of skin.

The ribbing adds texture that is pleasing to the eye. The front has a kangaroo pocket. The adjustable hem at the waist let's you customize your fit. I have it cinched and it hits right around the lower part of my waist/high hip. I also love the wrist cuffs. I like them looser to accommodate my Apple Watch these days. The sleeves are long, but not overly so.

I think this is one of those tops that make any outfit look effortlessly cool. Overall, I am super happy with this top and would definitely purchase in another color! Would love to see it in a mauve or nude pink.

I also picked up another Athleta wrap. This time, I could not pass up the Spiced Cabernet in the Pranayama Restore Wrap. Spiced Cabernet works really well with my skin tone. It's a gorgeous shade of plum with a hint of burgundy.

I'm wearing my usual size Petite XS and this fits true to size. This is an updated version to the Pranayama Wrap which is being phased out. The main difference is the back of the wrap looks more streamlined and the front has more fabric and draping. The pocket placement is slightly further back along the side seam. The nirvana fabric is still very soft and plush. I'm still a fan!

This is one of those wraps that can be easily dressed up or down. This wrap is perfect for lounging, but I could also see myself wearing this to the office paired with a nice top and pants for a business casual outfit.

That's it for me! Hope you all have a fantastic start to a new week!

  3. Wow, I didn't realize how close Abalone Grey is to White Opal! That outfit looks so chic! I'm not a huge fan of 1/2 zips for me, but it looks really great on you!

I also love the color of that wrap. Spiced Cabernet is one of my favorite colors from Athleta, but I haven't found a piece in that color that I really have to have yet.

    Thanks for the reviews!

    1. Hi Lola! I don't usually go for half zips either, but found this one to be really comfy.

Spiced Cabernet is one of those colors that will work with almost anything. Hope you find something you like in it!

  4. Hi Leslie,
The 1/2 zip looks really cute on you and the length is perfect! I’m not a huge fan of cropped tops though and my regular size (size 2) will definitely look too short on me, :(

Spiced Cabernet is a gorgeous color. Wish the Pranayama Restore Wrap worked for me.

LLL just had an upload. I’m kind of interested in the Thick Fleece Half Zip in White Opal but I bet it will look huge on me. (

    Have a nice evening!

    1. Hi LZ! If they released another color in the Softstreme 1/2 zip like in a pale pink or mauve, I would probably get it. Thanks for the heads up for Friday. I was wondering if they were going to do 2 uploads a week. Can't believe Christmas is less than two weeks away. It's coming so fast!

  7. hi Leslie! I love how the Softstreme half zip looks on you! It looks nicer on you than the models. White Opal is such a nice neutral. Not too yellow and softer than bright white.

  8. Great post. How did you like the softstreme half zip compared to the softstreme perfectly oversized cropped crew? I’m thinking about getting one of the half zips but ended up not wearing my softstreme POCC much. Does it feel similar?

    1. Hi there, I definitely prefer the half zip over the POCC. I find it to be more comfortable because the length feels a little longer, not as cropped. The part that isn't ribbed is Softstreme and feels like the POCC, but the ribbed makes it a bit more elevated IMO. I also like that the cuffs on the sleeves aren't so small. I wore a size 0 in the POCC and the cuffs at the wrists are child sized. I already wore the half zip a couple of times, it's more comfy to me. Hope that helps!

    2. Yes it helps a lot! Thanks so much for your response. I will definitely have to order it if it restocks in my size.

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed
