Happy Friday! I have some exciting Allbirds news to share! I was told the next coupon I receive will apply to my Canadian readers! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds. When only whole sizes are available I size up to a 6.
The Wool Piper Woven shoe only comes in whole sizes. I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds so I decided to size up to a 6. This was the right call. They were perfect with my Bombas socks.
Because they are woven, there's not a lot of stretch, but I did not find them to be too tight on my foot and I have average width feet. I went with Natural White and I would describe it as the color of bone. It's not a bright white, and it has a twinge of gray. It's a great neutral if you're looking for a light colored shoe.
The details.
Last year, I tried the Wool Piper Mids (my review) and really love them, they are super comfortable. I figured the Wool Piper Woven would be just as comfortable and they are. The fit is also similar.
The back of the pull tab is much smaller than the original Piper. I did not find these to rub the back of my ankle or any other discomfort. The bottom of the sole has a good looking tread. These shoes are meant to be worn as casual everyday shoes.
The inside is lined with cozy wool. It comes with a cardboard insert to keep the shape when the shoe isn't worn. You can wear these sockless but I haven't done so with any of my Allbirds. I am a sock wearer through and through. The laces are flat but nice and thick quality.
However, I did find one possible flaw in the shoe. The woven fabric feels like a type of light canvas and I noticed there are wrinkles throughout the shoe. Since these are brand new out of the box, I am worried that the creases will deepen even more with wear. I didn't like these enough to keep, so I can't say if this will happen, but it is something to consider.

ReplyDeleteMight order Align crops 17" in Moonlit magenta. Believe it or not don't own Aligns shorter 17" align most are 7?8 length or 21". or color moonlit magenta.
Do own variation of vivid plum aligns which i rarely wear, compliments wearing black tops only color that seem to work.
Don't know if the Moonlit magenta color is flattering on me? Complimentary color golden yellow tank or swiftly SS needs to be ordered to complete the new gym outfit and shoes too.Lol...
So far they have it in my size not in stores but online.

Hi Mack! Let me know what you think of the Align 17". I find they are perfect for petites and they fit the calves well too. Don't think you will have that issue since you're calves are probably very muscular. =D

Others who bought recent color Vivid Plum leggings don't want to spend more on Moonlit Magenta saying its too similar pinkish purple hue.
Convinced regal plum In Flow crops II are similar vivid plum color as Moonlit magenta enough not to go forward make Align crop purchase.
Keeping my retro discontinued style In flow crops that are 17". Enjoy the fit just below my pointy knees showing off them skinny calves not as muscular as you may think. Lol.
Paired the pink outfit together In Flow crop II regal plum, with Figue Cool racerback with old Metcon 3.

Oh yes, I remember Regal Plum that is very close to Moonlit Magenta. I had a pair of In Flow Crops. I did like those but ended up rehoming them after a while. Better to save your money if you have something similar, unless you really like the Aligns!

ReplyDeleteThe canvas shoes are a nice color, but that's a color I wouldn't have much success with keeping clean! Do they feel much heavier than the wool runners? They look like they might feel clunkier than their other shoes.
