Happy Friday! Lots to talk about. Unicorn Tears reboot is here! As of right now, the limited edition pieces are only available on the app. I'm sure they'll release it on the website today or tomorrow. I personally am not a fan. I have screen shots posted down below.

Let's get to today's fit review. For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops.

I will happily try anything that's made of Softstreme. This reminds me of a bomber style jacket with an elastic waistband. I found this zip up to run large, so definitely size down. I do find this jacket to be petite friendly. The sleeves aren't super long, and the length hits at high hip. The Softstreme fabric feels velvety soft next to the skin.
The color of this black Softstreme zip up looks closer to graphite gray in person. I personally like the grayish black color.
I also ordered the jacket in Natural Ivory to see which one I liked more in person. I'm leaning towards keeping the Natural Ivory. I may need your help deciding! Let me know in the comments which one you would keep. I'm wearing Athleta's Seasoft Straight Pant in Abalone Gray, and I think the jacket would actually look great paired with Venice Joggers, but mine are in the wash.

Which color should I keep? On one hand, I don't have a light colored jacket so there's that. On the other hand, I kind of don't need another jacket. 😆 But the devil on my shoulder loves how comfortable this jacket is, and it also has an 80s vibe that I like. There's also a new color in town. Red Merlot was released in this week's upload. Let me know what you think!

Throwback Unicorn Tears print was released only on the app for now. Here are screenshots of what was released. I passed on all of it. I'm not sure the print works on these items to be honest. In my opinion the print just kind of looks messy and sort of outdated. 😐 The best item is probably the towel!

Thanks for the review on the Softstreme Zip Up! I must admit, when I first saw it on the website, I was kind of "meh" about it, but it looks great on you! I prefer the darker color, but they're both good neutrals.

I tried the Athleta code this morning, and sadly, it didn't work. Once again, it appears Canada is left out. Or maybe I just got up too early and it hasn't kicked in yet LOL. Oh well, my wallet will be happy.
Hi Lola! That's such a bummer to hear it didn't apply for Canada. =( I haven't placed my order yet, will have to wait until I get home from work. Hopefully the items I have in my cart aren't sold out by then.

I prefer the Natural Ivory one! I like lighter colors on top and darker on the bottom. If I hadn't just ordered the Ready to Rulu Half Zip on WMTM, I might have tried that jacket. I already have on of the R2R's and absolutely LOVE it! It's so soft, roomy, and comfortable while not looking too oversized. I sized down from my usual 2 to a 0.

hi Leslie! The Brushed Softstreme Funnel-Neck Zip Up looks great on you! Thanks for the advice on sizing! Between black and natural ivory, I would keep the natural ivory one. You probably have many black hoodies anyway. The seams stand out more in natural ivory and the colour brightens your face.

Hi Karen! This is true, I do have another jacket that looks kind of similar, different fabric, but similar style from Athleta. I think I will keep Natural Ivory.
DeleteThat's a tough decision! If you already have two Scubas, maybe try the Softstreme Funnel Neck? But I am also very partial to Scuba Plush hoodies.... very tough call. I would almost say order both and see which one you like more. =D
hi Leslie, I see that the Funnel Neck Softreme Zip Up is $158 in Canada. Not sure why it's $10 more expensive than the Softstreme Pocketed Hoodie. I'm hesitant to spend so much on a fall jacket because the season is so short in Toronto and Softstreme is not meant for rainy days.
DeleteI ended up ordering the Scuba Plush in one size up (6) for a more relaxed fit. I think Pink Taupe is more of a dusty pink with slight grey undertones than the stock pictures show. Hopefully it'll look good in person! Have a great weekend!

DeleteI love the Organic Daily Relaxed Tee, it's thin, but so soft. I ended up buying a few items myself. A pair of Venice Joggers, Wool Cashmere Wrap, Balance Waffle Hoodie, Retroplush Cocoon Hoodie. I think I'm done for the rest of the month!
I vote natural ivory because you can always find another style softstreme in black! Though I do love the black, the ivory color looks great on you! I think they will release more softstreme outerwear which will usually come in at least black. I don't get the unicorn tears hype. I haven't loved any of the throwback items. I liked the astro pants but I felt the waistband would get old.

Hi Janessa! That's a fair point about black being a staple color in most items. I am hoping for more Softstreme items for fall/winter. Hoping to see more hoodies and different kinds of pullovers. More wraps too!

Hi there, I actually like both of those items. I should try the In Motion Seamless Tank, I like the heathered options available right now. The Delancy Moto Tights look great, I just don't wear tights because I tend to run hot.
