Fit Review Friday! Athleta Legend Sweatshort & Sweatshirt X Allyson Felix and Lululemon Cotton-Cashmere Knit HR Short 4"

Happy Friday! How is everyone doing? On Wednesday my husband and I celebrated our 7th anniversary! We've been together for 10 years and we have been friends for 30 years. I posted a bunch of throwback photos on my Instagram stories. I think they will still be up for a few hours before they disappear if you want to take a look! For today's review, I have a super cute outfit from Athleta and Lululemon's Cotton-Cashmere Knit Short.

UPDATE! Just in! Extra 20% off Athleta Sale items with code EXTRA20

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall. I typically wear size PXS or XXS in Athleta. I also wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.

This is a super cute Legend Sweatshort and Sweatshirt that's co-created with Allyson Felix. I've been obsessed with off white shades lately. Magnolia White and White Opal have been catching my eye. These two colors are actually very similar.

Let's take a look at the shorts. I'm wearing size XXS but honestly I wish these came in PXS. The waist is just a smidge small on me, but still wearable. There are two zippered side pockets. The inseam measures 4 inches long and I was pleasantly surprised that they still work on my petite legs. Usually anything longer than 3 inches make my legs look short and frumpy.

I thought it was interesting that the front of the waistband is flat while the back is stretchy. I kind of like it, what do you guys think? The leg opening does have some extra fabric but it's still flattering. My husband absolutely loves the set and said it's very stylish.

In case you might be interested, I'm wearing Free People's Sunset Strappy Bra in Washed Army. I'm wearing size M/L (34A). I've been looking for a strappy bralette I can wear underneath tanks for summer. The price is $20 and it is pretty thin, so not a lot of coverage and zero support, but it's cute as all heck. One other thing that I would point out is that it does ride up at times because of the strap placement. It usually happens when I'm lifting my arms up. However, it's super comfy. I am debating if I want to pick it up in a couple of more colors. They're great for lounging around and/or for very casual outfits.

Here are some photos of the Sweatshirt with the top shown in full. Similar to the shorts, the hem has a flat front with the elastic shirred fabric in the back. There are two side zippered pockets as well. I love the half zip collar. When I have it worn with the band pulled down, it does poof out a bit in the front. The armholes are on the larger side and it does show my bra. It doesn't bother me and on the plus side it keeps me cool.

The fabric is on the thick side for summer, but it's super soft. I'm very impressed with the quality and the details. I'm loving the seams and the zippered pockets. There are strategically placed holes for ventilation!

I took a million photos of this set because it just looks so good! Here are a few more photos with it worn with the band tucked under. I would personally would wear it this way.

Alright, moving along... 😅 I did end up purchasing Lululemon's Cotton-Cashmere Knit HR Short 4" Heathered in Raw Linen. Of course it had to go on sale today. 😑

Also wearing Naked Cashmere (old)

I'm wearing my usual size 4. They're a bit roomy and on the loose side. I would say you can probably size down in these if you're in-between sizes. The cotton-cashmere feels super soft and they are very comfortable. The inseam is 4 inches long.

They're roomy in the back and this is why I think they could be sized down. However, there is a chance these might shrink in the wash. Let me know what you think of these shorts! I kinda wish they had the matching hoodie in my size. It would have been great to get a matching set.

That's it for me! Do you have any plans for the weekend? I'm going to see Tears For Fears! I've never seen them live before so I'm pretty excited. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

  1. Happy Anniversary! That is so sweet you've known each other for so long! I am loving off whites like Aritzia's Whisper White (I haven't seen in person just pics), LLL White Opal and now Athleta's Magnolia white! :D OOO those LLL shorts are so cute! Too bad they're still $70! Maybe you can call GEC for a price adjustment? I've never done that but I've read about it..

    1. Thank you Janessa! I took a look at Whisper White, it looks a little bit too yellow on the screen. If you do get to see it in person let me know! I've never done the price adjustment either. I'll have to look into it!

  2. Happy anniversary! Thanks for sharing the cute pictures! I think the free ppl sunset bra is very cute - saw the stock picture and I guess the back strap is supposed to ride up in the middle?

Nothing for me from WMTM today... Just hoping for nulu mesh define restock!

    1. Thank you Blueberries! Yes, the back strap placement angles up a bit and that's why the bra wants to ride up when I lift my arms. It doesn't happen every time, but I guess if I do it fast enough it will ride up. It's very cute though and looks great with racerback tanks and other cute backless tops.

  4. I saw Tears for Fears when I was a teenager! You'll have so much fun. I saw on your IG you were a Cure fan too. I think we would have been good friends in high school! :-)

    1. Hi Trilikemary! Yes I am a total Curehead. I even have the tattoo to prove it. LOL. I got into them when I was 13 years old and they're still my favorite band in the world. My husband is a huge Depeche Mode fan. He's talked about getting the Violator rose tattooed but so far hasn't done it. We totally would have been great friends in HS! I even dressed up as Robert Smith for Halloween for my senior year and people thought I was the Crow LOL.

I love the sweatshirt/short set and find it very cute on you. Athleta’s Magnolia White is a pretty ivory color.

    1. Thank you Andrea! Yes, I can't wait to wear it this weekend. I have to see how hot it gets- if any. Curious to see how the fabric will feel outdoors.

BTW- I just updated the post with an Athleta coupon. Extra 20% off sale items. Code is EXTRA20. I wonder if it works in Canada? =D

    2. Unfortunately the code doesn’t work on the Canadian site but thanks for sharing! Andrea

  6. Hi Leslie! Happy Anniversary! Your IG pics are very sweet!

The Athleta Legend set looks very stylish on you indeed! I like the flat front of the shorts because it gives a clean look. Little details like contrasting zipper tabs really elevate the look!

I don't think the EXTRA20 code works in Canada, but we can use STOCKUP for 15% off one regular priced women's item, or 20% off two or more regular priced women's items.

    Have a great weekend!

    1. Thanks Karen!! I really do love the look. It's different and a keeper for sure.

That's good Canada has coupon. I always feel bad when the US gets a coupon and Canada doesn't. Very annoying. Thanks for checking for me on that!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
