Recap of My New York Trip!

Happy Friday! I'm back from my NYC trip. The 10 days went by fast but I am so happy to be home. I just ate way too much food. So much of it was meat and I'm not used to eating so much of it on a daily basis. My parents like to have chicken, fish, pork, beef all in one sitting communal style. Will gladly go vegetarian for a few weeks!

This post is a recap of my vacation. Hope you enjoy the photos!

This is my BFF Andrea. We've known each other since we were 12 years old. It's rare to have such a long lasting friendship but those are the best kind. We went to Gatsby's Landing for dinner in Manhasset.

The next day I went to the Harry Potter store with a couple of my friends. Last year when I went to visit, the Harry Potter store had just opened and the lines were ridiculously long. I promised the next time I went back I would make the trip. So glad I did because the frenzy is now over and there was no line at all to get in. I got there around 10:30 am. There is a VR experience that I need to go back for. I did not realize that they would sell out and needed to be booked a day in advance. It's on the list for next year! 😂

The phoenix turns and makes it seem like the stair case is moving.

How bout those boots?!

I totally need to get me one of these trunks with my initials on them! They're so cool.

Afterwards we went to Jing Fong on the upper west side for dim sum.

St. Patrick's Cathedral

USS Maine National Monument at Columbus Circle

Spent the day with my good friends. We've known each other for 20 years!

To work off all the food, my sister and I walked a lot. We walked almost everyday to a nearby park. On one of our excursions we walked all the way to Fort Totten. It was built in the 1860s and used as a military base from the Civil War until the 1980s. The battery is really quite something to see. It was also where the Iron Throne was hidden three years ago! I highly recommend visiting Fort Totten if you get a chance, it's one of my favorite places in Queens.

Really wish I was there in 2019 to see this in person!

This is my grandma. She raised me for 35 years. I really miss her. She's the cutest 99 year old. It's always so bitter sweet and saying goodbye is the hardest. She gets really sad and tears up. I do too. I took some photos where we were both trying really hard not to cry when I left for the airport. I just never know if it's the last time I'll get to see her. I'm tearing up as I write this.

My Caraa Studio Bag. Review coming soon!

My flight was delayed for two hours. To pass the time I did a Q&A on my Instagram stories. I wish I had gotten more questions! I only got two questions, but it was fun to try. If you missed it, I added it to my highlights.

I really like these two photos I took from my window seat. I am thinking about making one into a canvas print. Which do you prefer, the landscape or portrait? It kind of reminds me of a Rothko painting.

My husband picked me up from the airport and went to get some dinner. I got finally got home around 10 pm. It was an exhausting day. I'm also not a fan of traveling by myself.

Look who is happy to see me. 😊

That's it for me! Hope you enjoyed the photos. Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

  1. Looks like you’ve had an amazing trip, Leslie! Good food and precious time spent with family and friends. Your grandma looks amazing at 99 and I’m sure she’ll be around for a long long time! <3.

I love both pictures you took in the plane but prefer the portrait one. Just more interesting in my opinion.

Have a relaxing weekend back home!

    1. Hi Andrea! Thanks, I hope she does make it to well over 100. I agree, I kind of like the portrait one a little more! Have a lovely weekend!

  2. Aw what a fun trip where you got to catch up with old friends! The picture of you and grandma is so cute and heartwarming. Looks like you had lots of fun!
I got my Sugar Sliders today and they're super comfy and fit TTS. The sole is squishy and the shoes is very lightweight. You can feel the bump/pattern on the sole barefoot but not with socks. It's comfortable either way. I wear a 6, sometimes 5.5 for a snug fit and got a 6. Younger me sworn I would've never wore socks with slides but I actually like the look and think its sorta cute for lounging or casual trips out.

    1. Hi Janessa! Ohhhh you're making me want a pair of Sugar Slides. If I got a pair it would likely be for lounging around. Not sure how I feel about going out in them LOL.

    1. Hi Lola! The Harry Potter store is the best! I really wanted to buy the little trunk but I didn't have any room to take back with me. I should have asked for them to ship it. I'll do that next time! But I found the pens on amazon, so I'll order those at least. I also need to do the VR experience too. So I definitely have to go back!

My grandma is super cute, I hope I can be half as cute if I ever get to be her age! =)

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
