Fit Review Friday! RepelShell Classic Fit Hoodie, Loungeful Zip Hoodie, Loungeful Cropped Hoodie

Happy Friday! It's all about hoodies today. Although, the RepelShell Classic Fit Hoodie is very much a jacket on the outside but on the inside, it feels like a hoodie. Let's get to it!

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically a size 4 in Lululemon tops.

also wearing Ebb To Street Crop Tank Black Size 6

I'm wearing my usual size 4 and I do think this is true to size. If I sized down, it would definitely be too tight in the shoulders, especially when zipped up. The first thing I noticed was how long the sleeve length is. It's very long, in the following photos I folded the sleeves underneath by three inches or so and it was much better.

Sleeves are folded underneath.

The length of the jacket is very petite friendly. It hits at the hip and there are adjustable drawcords at the hem to cinch for a tighter fit which is a nice option. The fabric is waterproof RepelShell which makes it also windproof. With the hood pulled up, there's a lot of coverage to keep the elements out.

How amazing is Blazer Blue Tone? It is BRIGHT, but I kinda love it. There are two zippered side pockets and there's also a front pocket to hold your ID or small items.

The absolute best part of this jacket is the inside lining. It's completely lined in this super soft velvet. I'm kinda obsessed with it. I did not know it was this cozy on the inside, which is why it's called a hoodie and not a jacket!! Even the sleeves are lined! Thank you LZ for asking me to review this hoodie. I'm very surprised at how much I like it. The price is steep at $198 🙈 but I'm almost inclined to say it's worth it because of the soft velvet lining.

Overall, I think this makes a great medium weight jacket. This would probably be safe to wear in the 50s, maybe low 60s if the weather is rainy and windy. If you're thinking of getting this, stick to your regular size. My only gripe is how long the sleeves are. There are no thumbholes so I could have the sleeves hemmed, but doing so would end up taking off the Lululemon logo on the cuff. It's hard to see, but it's there.

Next up we have the Loungeful Zip Hoodie. I'm wearing my usual size 4. This hoodie does not have any special features that really distinguishes it as a Lululemon product. It's actually kind of minimalistic in design.

The fit is relaxed with room for layering. I will say it's very comfortable. The sleeves are not fitted like the Classic Scuba Hoodie. I can comfortably pull the sleeves up over my forearms. I also found the sleeve length to be very petite friendly!

The inside is lined with soft fleece and it is very cozy. I ordered Butternut Brown, but I don't think it suits my skin tone. I don't usually prefer brown colors for clothing, but I thought this one looked a little more golden brown and wanted to give it a try.

As for sizing, I wouldn't size down, but I think if you did want a more fitted look, sizing down is an option. Overall, a cute hoodie, but I don't think it's worth $118. I would say unless the color is absolutely to die for, wait for WMTM. Next up, we have the cropped version of this hoodie.

I'm wearing my usual size 4 and the fit is similar to the Loungeful Zip Hoodie. Again, I wouldn't size down but I do think you could if you wanted to. The length is cropped and hits at high hip/low waist. The fit is slightly boxy but I think it's flattering.

I'm not too crazy about the seams running from the shoulder to armpit that's on the front and back of the hoodie. Maybe it's less noticeable depending on the color of the hoodie. I think this actually would look really cute in Silver Blue and Ultra Core Heathered Light Gray. If the Scuba Oversized Hoodies don't work for you, this could be a nice alternative.

I will say for $108, there are no kangaroo pockets?! Whaaaaat. I think that's a dealbreaker for me. This definitely falls into the WMTM category! Let me know what you think of the RepelShell Classic Fit Hoodie in Blazer Blue Tone. Do I keep it even if the sleeves are too long? I think that hoodie is the winner of the three reviewed today.

  1. The rebelshell looks nice! If it's available in a rose color, I wouldn't be able to resist! I think sizing down to a 2 would fix the sleeve problem (if sizing down is an option) - at least from my past experience. I tried the loungeful hoodie but wasn't impressed. Didn't seem worthy of 108 dollars. Also felt that the neck opening was too small. Hence I like the scuba half zip more! Thanks for the review :)

    1. Hi Blueberries! Ohhh a rose color would be amazing. I wonder if I should hold out. I definitely don't think I could size down in this, but yeah that would definitely help with the sleeve issue.

  2. Thank you so much for the review, Leslie! That blue is lovely, and the inner lining looks so luxurious. It nice to see they didn't skimp on the arm lining, as well. Why don't they show details like that in their model photos?? I feel like it would sell so much better. I remember thinking the same about the Plush Scubas. The length of the sleeves might be deal breaker for me, though. For $198, I expect perfection. Have a great weekend--and thanks again! :)

    1. You're very welcome LZ! The lining is definitely my favorite part of the hoodie. I'm very undecided about the sleeve length. Part of me says I should return it since it's $198 and wait for it to go on WMTM. =)

  3. hi Leslie! Thanks for the fit reviews! Blazer Blue looks so good on you! It's too bad that the sleeves are so long! When folded inwards, they look fine, but if they don't stay put or are not comfortable that way, may be return?

    1. Hi Karen! Right?! Blazer Blue is amazing in person. It's a such a nice color especially for those rainy/cloudy days. I didn't have it on long enough to know if the sleeves would stay up. I'm leaning towards returning it and seeing if it will hit WMTM. $198 is pretty steep even though I love the velvet lining. It's just oh so close!

  4. WOW I love the RepelShell jacket on you! The color and fleecy inside and cut are perfect! I've been SO curious about the Loungeful line! I was wondering if it's similar to Aritzia or whether it had more LLL details that made it worth the price. I guess I'll be waiting for these on WMTM! :)

    2. Hi Janessa! Thanks! I would say Lulu's quality IS better than Aritzia, but still not worth the full price since there aren't even thrumbholes. Definitely wait for WMTM. Happy Mother's Day to you too! =D

  5. Hi!! I found your blog from a reddit thread looking for reviews of the RepelShell Jacket, and I appreciate your review! I just wanted to let you know that the jacket is on WMTM in black and raspberry cream in the US as of today :)

    1. Hi Emi! Thank you so much for letting me know it's on WMTM! I ended up returning the jacket because of the long sleeves, but now that it's made it to WMTM, it's a little more tempting to get it and have the sleeves hemmed. Decisions, decisions!! Thanks again!!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
