Fit Review Friday! Athleta Haul- Outbound Tee, Urbanite Tank, Getaway Tee

Happy Friday! Ever since I landed on Monday, I've been eating my way through NYC. 😂 We're having a late Mother's Day dinner with the whole family tonight. Here are some food pics from this week. I had to get my dim sum fix asap! Dim sum is something I really miss about NY. It's good in Atlanta, but it's not great. New York definitely has some of the best dim sum.

Egg tarts are my favorite pastry, it's so good when it comes out warm.

Soup dumplings! 😍

After all that, I needed to get my steps in. I'm planning on a few jogging sessions while I'm here. 😂

I've got an Athleta haul for you all today. Athleta often gives discounts and I ended up keeping a bunch of tops from their most recent sale. Let's get to the fit review!

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically size XS Petite in Athleta. I also wear size 4 in most Lululemon tops.

also wearing On The Fly Crop (old)

I absolutely love Athleta's Tawny Rose color and purchased the color in the Outbound Tee. This is a casual tee made of SuPima Cotton. The fabric feels very soft and smooth to the touch. It also has a little bit of stretch to it. The reviews mostly said this tee ran small, so I purchased this in a size up, small petite.

This is a semi-fitted tee for casual days. I've even worn this to the office with a blazer or cardigan over it for a more polished look. The fabric is a light to medium weight and hits at low hip. I will be reaching for this top quite often.

When I saw the Urbanite Tank, I knew it would become one of my favorite tops. I love it so much I purchased it in black. I'm wearing my usual XS Petite and it is true to size. It's a light weight tank that feels very smooth and crisp. The Bright White is slightly sheer, but I've had no issues wearing it to the office with a sweater wrap or cardigan over it. This simple tank elevates any outfit.

Very nice drape from the back.

Here are examples of how I've worn this to the office. If you're not a fan of cardigans or wraps without a collar, this is the perfect solution! Since it's a tank, there are no sleeves to deal with and it's so comfortable. I highly recommend this piece, it's definitely become a staple in my closet.

Urbanite Tank Black Size XS Petite

Here are some photos in black. If I were to pick just one, I would probably go with the Bright White, but if you're worried about the white being slightly sheer, then I would say go for black.

The arm opening is the perfect size. It's not too low and the coverage is great for hiding bra straps. My shoulders tend to slope down and my bra straps are always falling off which is why you can see a slip of it in these pics. This relaxed tank would also look great paired with leggings for a casual day out.

Here's another outfit I put together for my office job. The cardigan here is very old. It's about 10 years old from J.Crew. It's super soft and has held up so well. Luckily J.Crew always has cashmere cardigans in stock all year round. I highly recommend getting one!

Searching for a simple lightweight tee in white always marks the start of summer for me. White is always very difficult for me to keep clean, so every year I look for a white tee to replace my previous one. Athleta has some really nice tees that are lightweight, soft and comfortable. The Getaway Tee checks all the boxes for me.

I'm wearing size XS and the fit is relaxed. I didn't want to size down to the XXS because I wanted it to fit similar to the model. Definitely size down if you want a more fitted look. The fabric is thin, which means it's slightly sheer. Overall, I'm very pleased with this Athleta haul, especially since I was able to snag them all on sale for 20% off.

That's it for me! Hope you all have an amazing weekend!

  1. Thanks for another great review, Leslie! I’ve been thinking of trying the Getaway Tee and your review is really helpful. Just need to wait for another sale! :)

I’ve been distracted by the On The Fly Pant cos it’s my favorite LLL pant. :). I so wanted to get it in the same Heather Grey color but for some reason this color fitted bigger than other colors, and didn’t work for me. My three pairs of OTF all fit differently and one pair had a more straight rather than tapered leg.

I hope LLL will bring back the OTF but I have a feeling that they will make some not-so-nice changes to the original design!

Have a nice weekend in NYC and enjoy the good food!

    1. Hi Andrea! Athleta seems to like giving out 20% off coupons. I saw one come over in my emails, code is MAYATHLETA. Maybe give that one a try? Minimum amount has to be $150 though.

Yessss the OTF is my favorite! I wear it all the time and wish Lulu would bring it back. I still have 3 pairs that get rotated for work.

Still have 5 days to go in NY. Will be eating as much as I can take lol!

  2. Hi Leslie! Your dimsum pics are making me hungry! Steamed rice rolls (cheung fun) are one of my favourites!

I really like the Urbanite Tanks and the Getaway Tee on you! I like that the arm holes of the Urbanite Tank are not too big. And I love all the different looks you created with this tank--very versatile. The slight boatneck of the Getaway Tee looks flattering and comfortable. The fabric drapes well and doesn't look too sheer.

Thank you for the great reviews! Have a wonderful weekend!

    1. Hi Karen! Hai cheung is one of my favorites. =D Sometimes I order two of them!

Thanks! I am quite pleased with this Athleta haul. I'd say out of the three, the Urbanite Tank is the winner.

    3. Is there a link you have so I can give you credit/referral for allbirds?

    4. Yes I have a link you can use for Allbirds. If you click on the link and add a pair of Trino socks, you can get the socks for free. I'm not sure if there's a minimum requirement, but it's worth a try! My sister got a pair of the Sugar Slides and they're really comfortable. I'm actually thinking of getting a pair for myself too!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
