I needed some new shorts, so I gritted my teeth and pulled the trigger on some Hotty Hot shorts, since they are now my favorite shorts to wear. Also noticed Align Short 6" Java are selling fast and anything in Milkshake apparently is the new "it" color. Drop me a comment below on what you think of today's drop!

I couldn't believe the $88 price tag on the DD HH Shorts! I know there's always a mark up for DD, but that's a lot for shorts. They are really pretty, though. Nothing for me this week!
ReplyDeleteI ordered the Scuba Funnel Neck in White Opal when it restocked last week. I love the color, but the fit is not for me. I just feel frumpy--even after trying it on 3 times and willing it to work!
Ugh, I know! $88 is really insane. But I did buy them with a gift card that I had sitting around. I hear you with the Oversized Scubas. I love the look but they just do not flatter my petite frame. Jealous for those who look so cute in them!!

Why are hotty hot shorts your favourite to wear? Speed up shorts no good?
Wearing longer hem in back Ali-express in Shinbene store sells Speed up shorts design but much longer hem in the back. Bought a pair hibicus red which is likeness to various rose colors Lululemon incorporates not available which compliments the Tidewater teal nulu razorback tank very well.
Found the Shinbene shorts little to long might be equivalent to hotty hot fit without mesh side hem style.

Folded up the waistband matches the Lululemon speed up shorts very well. Quality of zipper is not the same but overall for the price can't complain.
Hi Mack! I still need to try the Ali Express dupes! It's on my list. Yes Strawberry Milkshake really does look like Porcelain Pink. A little too pale for my skintone though.
DeleteI used to love Speed Shorts/Speed Up Shorts but I find the Hotty Hots to be more comfortable overall. Sometimes the Speed Up Shorts can feel a little too tight. I just find myself reaching for HHs more than Speed Shorts lately! So I am slowly replacing them.
Do you find the fabrics similar to the Speeds and HHs on the dupes from Ali Express?

Choosing right colors Milkshake works well with lot of combinations. Rather go with basic grey, or black, milkshake is another safe pastel tone Lululemon is famous for. Find my LS tempo white / black swiftly too sheer exposing my olive skin or layered waistband wide ruby red aligns leggings.

Snug fit of speed up shorts inseam 2.5 inches shows off the shape of your butt hips much better. Longer length 4 inch inseam almost fits as well but with more leg coverage looser feel and look.
Hotty Hots are very similar style to tracker shorts i own. minus the mesh style curved outer thigh hem.
Very difficult to find any brand of fabric matching Lululemon. On align leggings or shorts Nulu or Nulux materials Close match is Nulux material in shorts design and leggings.
Problem with Shinbene speed up dupes from Ali-express the fabric has funky odour unlike any Lululemon product i ever owned. Other Ali-express leggings or align shorts dupes. have not had this problem.
After few washes in downy unstoppable scent boasters or dryer bounce sheets the fabric scent is bearable. Would not recommend any lululemon product to be washed like Ali-express dupes. Since they are cheap no worries of damaging it. So far stitching held up well over last summers use.
The quality isn't as good such as zipper can be broken and stuck on the waistband fabric like mine . Stitching isn't terrible but some differences in seams are apparent versus the real deal. Fabric by the touch isn't at all that much different then speed up shorts in feel or sight. Maybe the inner lining is the reason why the dupe shorts smell. I cut out the liner but on occasion after hot summer use i could smell faint odour from the fabric. Would not recommend wearing the dupes again more then day without washing again.
Your welcome Leslie. Hope you get a chance to choose one of the dupes in Ali-express be pleasantly surprised styling during summer months. Money saved compared to purchasing align shorts you might never return to certain Lululemon products doing cost, quality, comfort, benefit analysis.
I loved Spice Chai and Tidewater Teal! Both are some of Lulu's best IMO.

Align dupes style is more like For the chill of it... only no zip back pocket and shorter inseam 6".

Newer dupes have no center front seam unless you choose the 1st generation 2.0 which are almost exactly the same matching seams inner waistband pocket soft fabric as close Align shorts i ever seen. Trouble is the sizing in various from colors you choose might be slightly loose at waistband then one would expect from Align shorts.

The newer Hi clould 3.0 seamless generation dupes fit much tighter. My sizing in Aligns is 4 and i choose same with dupes find them tighter then i would like. Sizing up maybe good idea. For you Leslie XS is might fit perfectly.

Those HH HR are beautiful! I can't justify the price and am waiting for a fun summer or spring color. Nothing for me. Also off topic I reach for my Aritzia hoodies over my Scubas still. The fleece on my Scubas also eventually pills a tiny bit like my Aritzia ones.

Hi Janessa, it'll be interesting to see if the DD HH's sell out at $88! It's getting a little hot for fleece here already. I've been reaching for my Athleta Balance Hoodie more, it's like a really soft thin hoodie. It's soft and fizzy on the inside but just not thick fleece. I really wish they would release more colors!
