Coach 1941 Rogue Slim Brief 25 & Field Tote X Chelsea Champlain plus WMTM Update!

Happy Friday! It's already mid-April. Hard to believe that summer is right around the corner. It's also giving me hope that things are truly going to be back to normal and lately I have been using my nicer bags on a regular basis. I'm still using the Everywhere Belt Bag but definitely not as often as I used to. That said, I actually have the Extended Strap version on the way in Lavender Fog which I'm pretty excited about. I will post a comparison review between the two versions soon.

Today I have a very special post featuring Coach and Chelsea Champlain. For those of you who don't know, Chelsea Champlain is an artist that was featured in Coach's fall 2018 collection. I found out she was also taking custom requests and of course I had to send her some of my bags for her to transform into one of a kind masterpieces. Purses are my biggest weakness. More than anything else!

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall.

I got this idea of a unicorn bag to celebrate my inner 80s child, but I wanted a Goth twist to it. I asked Chelsea to design a dark unicorn for me. I just give her my ideas and let her create what she wants with it. Sometimes it can be scary to give up that kind of control but the outcome is always worth it. I definitely have a lot of trust in Chelsea and she never disappoints!

The Coach Field Tote is a medium sized. It makes a good work bag and can carry quite a bit. The measurements are 12" length, 12" wide, 6" deep. It's currently on sale for 50% off! It's also available in Oxblood as well. I always love a dark red purse, but after agonizing a bit, I went with black.

Let's take a look at the details of the tote. The inside is lined with microsuede. It's very soft and definitely feels like suede. The trim and handles are pebbled leather. It comes with a detachable strap. The main body of the bag is coated canvas featuring the horse and carriage print. It's a very classic bag on its own, but I can be a little extra when it comes to purses.

Inside pocket and snap closure.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Coach's quality matches those of any premier designer purse. With Coach, you definitely get the best bang for your buck.

I love the dog leash hardware and even the webbing on the strap feels luxurious. I was actually quite surprised at how soft and silky it is.

The next Coach bag is the Rogue Slim Brief 25. I really think this bag is unique and quite unisex. The leather is pebbled and soft. The detachable crossbody strap is wide, but feels very comfortable.

For this design, I wanted a fun twist on this Jean-Michael Basquiat piece. My request was a T-Rex skeleton wearing a crown. I think Chelsea did an absolutely amazing job on the T-Rex. He is perfection!

It's such a cute mini crossbody bag and I love carrying it by the handles as well as using the strap. The bag has two slip pockets on both sides for easy access. I can slip my iPhone 12 Pro in the outside pocket without having to open the zipper to get into the main compartment. Slip pockets are a must have for small crossbody bags.

T-Rex up close!

She even painted a little matching crown on the hang tag! I absolutely adore it.

Inside of the bag has the light canvas lining which is a 1941 feature. Some people love the light colored fabric lining. It kind of reminds me of the Chloe Paddington lining if anyone remembers that from 2005. I still have two Paddington bags.

This bag also features the dog leash clip.

This bag is mini, but it can hold a lot. I can fit all of these items plus my phone with extra room to spare.

Also has a slip pocket on the inside of the bag.

If you're interested in contacting Chelsea or just want to check out her Instagram page and Etsy shop, I will link that all down below. That's it for me! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

  1. Wow! I especially love the t Rex design! How much does it cost for her to do a custom drawing on a bag? I guess it depends on the size of the drawing and or complexity?

For WMTM, I picked up the swiftly race length vivid purple, swiftly electric lemon and CRB pastel blue. Swiftly is great for the gym so can't say no! The regular length CRB is a bit too long but I plan to get it cropped. Interesting that the race length version of pastel blue is still regular price 🤔

    1. Hi Blueberries, yes it depends on the size mostly. The T-Rex is a little smaller and the Unicorn is a little bigger. She charged $450 total for both. And I had to pay postage as well.

Sounds like you got a great haul from WMTM this week! I really do want to add a couple more tanks for the gym. I'm debating if I want to size up in the race length for a looser fit.

    2. I think you totally could size up in the tanks! For Swiftly, I wear both sz 4 and 6 and in both regular and race length :D

    3. Thanks! I will try one in a size 6. =D

  2. Happy Friday, Leslie!

I was browsing the LLL site today and came across the RepelShell Classie-Fit Hoodie. I haven't noticed it before, but I like the cut better than the Cross Chill Jacket. I'd be interested in a fit review, as there's only 1 review on the site. It's "classic fit," and I can't decide if I should stay tts or size down.

    1. Hi LZ! I saw the RepelShell Classie-Fit Hoodie dropped a couple of weeks ago and I really like it in Blazer Blue Tone. I'll add it to my list! I'm going to go with my regular size 4 and see how it fits. Thanks for the suggestion!

  5. Those bags are little works of art! I want to paint a bag now... I like to paint! I forgot if I commented... I think I had a dream I was commenting on your blog haha! I got the Athleta Elation Flare Pants in XSP color Navy. They're an inch too long but with platforms they'll be fine. Idk if I'd bring them to get hemmed yet.
I normally wear a LLL 2 but the XSP was perfectly snug. I have a pair of Powervita (similar to nulu) Athleta leggings in XXS and they fit but are tight around the waist and snug on my thighs. So maybe XSP is better for me :).

    1. Hi Janessa! That's a funny dream!!

I always recommend trying a couple of different sizes. It's always worth exploring to see what's out there, especially when you hit the jackpot! There's a new fabric that Athleta just released that I am looking forward to trying. It's called VitaFree fabric. The description says it's their lightest yoga fabric for a barely there, yet fully covered sensation! Sounds exactly what I love lol.

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed
