Fit Review! J.Crew Cecile Relaxed Sweater Blazer & Vintage Fendi Baguette

It's February 28th! That means we made it through our no buy/low buy month! Congrats to those who joined me in this challenge. I have to say, it wasn't that bad this time around. The only thing I really wanted to try was the Nulu Cropped Define Jacket in Silver Blue. It's currently sold out in my size but I will definitely be checking for restocks or new colors. I do have a shopping cart filled with items for fit reviews. There's also a couple of things I want to try from Athleta as well. The Salutation Stash Pocket Short 5" looks to be a nice Align Short alternative since Lululemon can't keep up with the demand. I also managed to pull out 15 items from my closet to sell on my Poshmark account. I hoped to let go more pieces than that but I'll still take it as a win.

In other news, my company just moved into a new building in Midtown Atlanta. This has been in the works for a little while now and the first day of business is March 7th. I've been working from home for the last 2 years so this will be a big change for me. Not only will I be working at a new office, but my commute will change drastically. I'm not looking forward to it at all. 😓 That said, I will probably be reviewing more office friendly pieces in the future which brings me to my latest review.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and typically wear size XXS/XS/PXS in J.Crew depending on the fit and style. I also wear size 4 in Lululemon tops.

My work wardrobe consists of many sweater blazers. Their Sophie Blazer (discontinued) from years ago is still a staple in my closet. I have it in four different colors and they're still in amazing condition. They are my go to almost everyday when I was at the office. It's so easy to pick out a crew neck tee, a pair of pants and just throw on a sweater blazer over it. It looks professional and it's effortless. J.Crew's newest sweater blazer is called Cecile. The fit is relaxed and I went with size XS. They do not offer this in petite sizing.

I also decided to go with Ivory, which normally isn't my color at all, but I thought it would be good to try something new. Verdict? I think I should have stuck with my usual Heather Khaki or Navy. While the Ivory doesn't wash me out too much, I am just not confident I could keep it clean. I think it's a great looking blazer. It looks even better unbuttoned.

It looks sharp unbuttoned, right? The rolled up sleeves adds a bit of style but white blazers always remind me of Miami Vice. I'm totally dating myself here! 😂

If you have the Sophie Sweater Blazer, the weight of the Cecile is slightly thinner and lighter weight which I actually prefer.  Depending on how you want to wear it, that can determine the size you purchase. I'm a fan of this piece and looking forward to see what other colors J.Crew releases. Right now it is on sale for under $100.

I just wanted to show off my vintage Fendi Baguette. The famous words of Carrie Bradshaw, "Oh isn't a bag, it's a baguette." This little bag was originally introduced in 1997 and Sex and the City made it super popular. Twenty years later and it's baaaaaack!

The brand new ones released today cost $2400 and up, but buying pre-owned can save you thousands, which I'm all for. You can find over 100 of these bags on Fashionphile. They have a mix of vintage and new but the vintage ones can be found for $500 and up depending on the size, color and fabric. The one I purchased was described as "very good condition". Overall there is some creasing along the leather parts and scratches on the hardware but still in amazing condition for vintage! I love mine and couldn't be happier with it. I'm a big fan of purchasing pre-owned. It's sustainable, better for the planet and your bank account. Win-win!

I'm definitely starting to use my designer bags more now that it seems like the pandemic is starting to slow down. Is it time to put away my trusty Everywhere Belt Bags until the next wave? I'm also thinking of reviewing more bags in the near future. What do you think? Let me know in the comments!

That's it for me! Here's to an amazing week!

  1. love the blazer/sweater! i mean white probably wont be for me because im so clumsy but so cute. i did buy some madewell blazers -- they're a double gauze material so i can wear it through spring and at the start of fall. it's a bit too cold to wear them at this point but i cannot wait! :)

    1. Hi Nina! I took a look at Madewell blazers just now on their site. There's one I really like, but sold out in my size. I do love a laid back blazer! They look great and easy to wear.

  2. hi Leslie, Thanks for the fit review! I like my Sophie Blazer a lot too! The Cecile Relaxed Blazer is a nice update with the button front.

Low buy in February was a good decision. It helped me appreciate what I already have in my closet. Thanks for encouraging us to join you!

    1. Thanks for joining the no-buy challenge!! I always feel really good after a month of zero purchases. Especially after the holidays. It's like a clean slate.

I'm going to try and pull out some more items in March. Maybe I need to edit my closet on a regular basis!

  3. I love the sweater jacket! Agree that ivory color is high maintenance but it goes with everything! If you have a lot of dark colors, I would say keep it!

Your Fendi Baguette is so cute and you know grey is my favorite color LOL! I am not planning to invest in another bag but would love to read your bag reviews!

    1. Hi Andrea! Eeeps. I would be so scared to wear it hahahaha! But I totally agree, it looks really nice with dark colors. Sigh. I'll have to think about it some more.

As you know bags are my weakness. I don't know what it is.... just have always loved a nice looking bag! I think I will have more reviews coming! =D

  4. I like the blazer but would be too afraid of keeping it white! I think a darker color is more versatile but if you already have darker blazers then a lighter one is nice to have to change things up! I don't wear blazers at all. I have a few that I've bought and never wear. I like cardigans and sweaters so much more

    1. Ah I'm jealous, I only wear blazers mainly because of work. But the past 2 years I've been working from home but it looks like I will be heading back into the office again at least 2-3 days a week. =( I'm so sad about it!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Review! Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Size Small Plus Video

You all know I love my bags, and as a Balenciaga collector, I don't often stray from the City and First style. The Rodeo (pronounced like Rodeo Drive) really caught my eye. It gives off a slouchy Hermes Kelly vibe, but way more practical to use.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall. Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Small The Rodeo can be carried a few ways. It comes with a crossbody strap that is not adjustable but it is removable. Not sure why anyone wouldn't add a few extra holes to make a strap adjustable these days. Come on Balenciaga! Do better! The top handle is a bit too long for this to work anyhow, I feel like the top handle gets in the way. It sticks out and doesn't sit well in my opinion. I wouldn't carry this bag crossbody unless it was an unforeseen emergency and I really needed my hands free. This bag looks more chic carried by the handle or crook of the arm. It also looks nice left open with the help of the flap tucked in. The Rodeo resembles the Kelly bag ...

Review! Lululemon's Large Everywhere Belt Bag Size Comparison Plus Video!

Happy Friday! I can't believe it's almost Halloween! I actually have a dentist appointment on Halloween. One of my molars chipped and needs to be filled in. It's a tiny chip that I didn't even notice until my dentist pointed it out to me during my last visit. I'm not looking forward to it at all since I will need local anesthesia. Anyway, today I have a belt bag size comparison review for you all! For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.
