Fit Review Friday! Aviator Nation Velvet Stripe Pullover Hoodie, 5 Stripe Sweatpants, Hand Dyed Bolt Classic Crop Crew, Velvet Stripe Classic Sweatshirt

Happy Friday! Also Happy September! Fall is in the air (well not really in Atlanta) but when I lived in New York, September always marked the start of fall season. The temperature would cool down to 60s and 70s. Leaves would start to change color and fall. With that starts my favorite shopping season.

BTW- Hurricane Ida really did a lot of damage to my hometown New York. Seeing all those videos of flooded highways and the subways looking like Niagara Falls really made me sad. Thankfully all of my friends and family are safe. I hope everyone else is too.

Today I've got one of my new favorite brands, Aviator Nation up for review. Everything is designed and hand sewn in Los Angeles California. I try and support USA brands when I can. It also explains why these pieces are not cheap. I made these purchases during their July 4th sale with 20% off. I cannot believe that was two months ago! What?! Good news is they are having another sale for Labor Day. Everything is 20% off with code LDAY20 and there is a sale section with selected items at 40% off.

For reference I am 4 feet 11 inches tall and wearing size XS in Aviator Nation. I also wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.

I absolutely love this Caribbean blue.

Aviator Nation clothes legit makes me happy. I'm always in a good mood when I wear their clothes. It's gotta be the fun colors and the rainbow stripes. How can you not be happy wearing rainbow stripes? 😃 This is a classic crew sweatshirt that surprisingly fits perfectly in length and body. It's relaxed but still very flattering. Looks great with leggings, and maybe this will make me reach for my leggings more often this coming fall. The pullover is super comfortable and lined with soft fuzzy fleece on the inside.

Perfect sleeve length.

I actually sized up to a small in this because of the cropped length. I didn't want it to be too cropped in the front. The sleeves are a little longer but it's something I can live with. I just love the tie-dye effect in my two favorite colors pink and purple. 😍 There is a pair of matching sweatpants but do you guys think that would be too much? 😆

Note the raw hemline which is something you don't normally see in sweatshirts. It makes this more unique. Perfect loungewear material. Also wearing Werkshop's Athleisure leggings in black size small.

This sweatshirt is also known as the Classic Pullover Hoodie which keeps selling out on Aviator Nation's website so I linked to the Saks website. Unlike the other tops, this one actually has thumbholes! The zippered kangaroo pockets are very practical because it keeps things from falling out. This is also one of those pieces that I think looks great with jeans. I might be pulling my jeans out more often! I'm wearing size XS. The sizing of the pullover hoodie is similar to their zip up hoodies.

I totally love the velvet stripes running down the sleeves.

😍

I've reviewed this hoodie before but wanted to show how the whole set looks together! This set is amazing and probably makes me the happiest of all the pieces in this post. The sweatpants are new and I have found them to be a little inconsistent in sizing, which is a huge bummer. I'm wearing size XS here, but I have ordered another pair in the same size that I found too small in the waist which I ended up returning. Reading some of the reviews, some colors do run small.

I apologize for a million photos of this set, but it make me so happy. These sweatpants sit very low in the waist. If you only like high-rise, these are not for you. I would say these sit an inch to an inch and a half below my belly button. The length measures 27.5 inches long. They are longer than what I prefer and you can see they bunch up a little at the ankles, but I think it still works. These are medium to heavy sweatpants, meaning I would not wear these in the summer. They are lined with soft fleece and definitely meant to be worn during colder months unless you really run cold at all times. I have worn these once around the house with the AC on and I keep the temperature at 72 degrees during the day and found it to be too hot for me. I have to wait until the temperatures drop a bit.

One thing I would like to mention, Aviator Nation's exchange/return policy does have a few rules. If purchased at full price, returns are free. However if it's purchased on sale, you can only exchange the item or receive store credit. I have returned for store credit and have also exchanged items. I found both to be fairly easy.

That's it for me! Let me know if you have any questions and for those in the US, have a great long weekend! Enjoy yourselves, I'll be at the pool!

  2. Thanks for the great review and I love all the rainbow pieces, especially the sweatpant which sits low on the waist. I’m not loving all the high waist pants that Lululemon is offering!

The sweats look very soft and I wish they were not that expensive …. My favorite piece is the hoodie and I actually would wear the whole set which is really cute!

Some good news, Athleta Canada has restocked Studio Jogger (that was fast!) and I’ve ordered it in both Black and Black Heather size XXS regular length. Will let you know if I like them!

    1. Hi Andrea! Totally agree, having a short torso makes high waisted bottoms a challenge to wear. Some of them sit so high up, it's uncomfortable!

Ohhhh do let me know what you think of the Studio Joggers! Have a great weekend!

    1. Hi Jenny! I have three of the zip up hoodies and pretty much live in them. =)

  4. Thanks for the AN review! I love the 🌈 striped Caribbean blue pullover! The fit is perfect and I really like the retro look! The grey hoodie/sweatpants set looks very nice and super comfy too!

On another note, my elation tight has arrived! I am pleased that the ankles are nice and tight, and the length is perfect! It feels slightly more compressive than aligns, but still very comfortable! The fabric is a little thicker than nulu and will be great for the fall. The girls' tight is on backorder. Will let you know how those fit when they arrive. Thanks for your recommendations and help with sizing! Have a great weekend!

  5. I love the thumbholes and velvet stripes! Sorry to hear about the flooding :( that is so sad and scary! The whole matching set looks amazing. So eye catching yet kinda neutral because well, it's grey! Did you see vuori came out with boyfriend joggers??

    1. I did see the new boyfriend joggers, but wanted to wait and see if they will release it in more colors, not a huge fan of any of the four choices right now. They also look a little baggy to me so also think the XS might be too big and so far they do not have XXS in stock.

  6. Hey Leslie! It's Cindy. Cute AN outfits! My comment is actually related to the Athleta launch in Canada. I'm eyeing the presidio dress in petite. I'm only about 4'9 . Has anyone petite tried this dress on ? What's the length like? Is it possible for you to do a fit review? Probably not before they sell out though.

    1. Hi Cindy! I looked at the Presidio Dress reviews and everyone says it runs large. I think because of how petite we both are we are sized out of this one. The smallest size is PXS and I think PXXS would be your best bet. It's fairly long, it's 40 inches in the front and 51 inches in the back.

    2. I noticed that measurement too, but it says its from the "M" size. I was hoping the xsp would be shorter. But probably not short enough. I really like it but I don't think I'd be willing to pay to have it hemmed. It would cost too much due to the high low hemline.

  7. Are the sweatpants tight in the waist? I can’t tell if I need a size XS or S. I’m 98lbs and 5’1!

    1. XS fits 0-2 usually, and Small fits 4/6 sizes. This one in particular fits me, but all my other pairs I get a small.

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed
