Review! Kettle & Fire Bone Broth

Is the weekend already over? I dread Sunday nights but at least this weekend was productive. Cleaned up the laundry area and managed to get some exercising in. Back in February I turned 40 (and finally managed to get my first pull up), which made me start to think how I can stay healthy and one of the things I came across in my research was collagen. Apparently, collagen production plateaus in our mid to late 20s. Then after that the body produces about 1% less every year, which is why we humans start to age. Which lead me to start taking collagen supplements and made me curious about bone broth. Bone broth has been around but it really blew up in the past few years. I decided to look into it and tried a few different brands from the supermarket and Target. The one brand I really liked and had the most flavor is Kettle & Fire.

I initially tried the Classic Chicken and liked it, if you enjoy soup, this is basically soup in a cup. Bone broth is high in protein (10 grams) and high in collagen which helps boost anti-aging. It's healthy and good for for the body with no side affects. I like to drink it after my workout because of the extra protein. It's recommended to heat the broth up on a stove, but I'm pretty lazy and I stick it in the microwave for 60 seconds and then I take it out and stir it and pop it back in for another 20 seconds or so.

Kettle & Fire recently released a Regeneratively Made Bone Broths, which I also tried. The taste is the same as the Classic Chicken, except it's better for the planet and agriculture. It is a little pricier but if it's better for the planet I do try my best to support that initiative.

I stopped by my local Whole Foods where you can also purchase Kettle & Fire. So far the flavors I've tried are the Classic Chicken, Tumeric Ginger, Mushroom Chicken, and Classic Beef. I actually like the beef flavor the least. It seems bland to me, like beef stock. The chicken variations are much more flavorful. My favorite is probably the Mushroom Chicken. The Tumeric Ginger was surprisingly good too.

I noticed that Kettle & Fire also makes bone broth soup!! As a soup lover that loves to have soup even when it's 100 degrees out, I am super excited to try some of these! I'm definitely going to try Miso Soup, Butternut Squash, Broccoli Cheddar, Mushroom Bisque, (much to my husband's dismay, he hates mushrooms, the smell, taste, everything! More for me though, haha.) and Chicken Noodle. Some of them are high in sodium so if you're sensitive on the sodium content, check the labels. Most of them fall around 20% of your daily recommended intake but the Miso and Broccoli Cheddar are closer to 30%.

Let me know if you have tried bone broth and what your thoughts on it are. I personally love drinking it in a mug like a cup of tea. I wish that I started taking collagen supplements and bone broth in my 30s. I feel like I could have been ahead of the game! That's it for me! Hope you all have a great start to the week!

  1. Thanks for the review, Leslie! I haven't thought much about collagen, but I really should because I've turned 40 this year as well! I'm a soup lover myself. I'll see if I can find Kettle & Fire at Whole Foods in Canada.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
