Happy Friday! Isn't it crazy that summer is starting to wind down? The end of August is coming and I always get a little sad because I do love the long summer days but I also really love fall weather. I was hoping to travel to New York again to visit my family for Thanksgiving (isn't it nuts that the holidays are only a couple of months away?) but with the Delta variant, I am not sure about traveling again. Sigh.
In other news, my ban is still going strong and today I have a Rothy's review. These purchases were made a while ago. The Belt Bag I ordered back in June and the Merino Wool Loafer I ordered last month when Rothy's had their big summer sale.
Rothy's sizing reference - I wear size 5 in The Point, size 5.5 in The Loafer, (but a size 5 works in Merino Wool) size 5 in The Mary Janes.
I've been digging the belt bag look these days if worn crossbody and the Biscotti Brown is a gorgeous neutral. The two colors compliment each other really well. I definitely prefer the crossbody look versus around the waist. It just makes me look very hippy. Maybe it's the outfit. 😆
Measurements- 8 inches wide by 5.5 inches high by 1.2 inches deep
The strap is adjustable and hardware is a brushed light gold.
Even though this is made out of recycled plastic water bottles, the texture is very soft. It feels like it's made out of cotton to be honest. The size is small. It fits your essentials (wallet, card cases, keys, mask) but won't fit anything too bulky like a pair of sunglasses. It has a magnetic closure and it does feel quite secure. They are big sturdy magnets.
This is what I normally carry and I like that the front pocket can store my mask separately from my other things. I do like the contrast red on the inside. There's also another small side pocket on the inside where you can stash receipts quickly.
As you can see it is quite thin from the profile picture.
It definitely is small in size. It can barely fit my essentials.
Here's a comparison picture next to the Everywhere Belt Bag which I absolutely love. It can hold so much more and best bang for your buck. Speaking of cost, The Belt Bag runs a whopping $165 vs $38 for Lululemon's Everywhere Belt Bag. While the Rothy's version definitely looks way more sophisticated and timeless, I couldn't justify the cost. The strap is also a little thinner than I'd like and I think I would have preferred it as a traditional crossbody bag than a belt bag that you can wear crossbody. The strap is just a little bit off for me.
Also looks beautiful worn as a shoulder bag, but I ended up returning it.

Last month Rothy's had their huge sale, but everything was also final sale. A few months ago I reviewed The Loafer in Indigo Cloud and found it to actually run a little small. It felt too narrow on my feet. I knew that Merino Wool is more forgiving and usually a little wider and a little bigger so when I saw these in a size 5, I knew there was a good chance these would fit perfectly. This color is called Blossom and is from last year's fall/winter collection.
They do kind of look like slippers to me, but I also changed out the insole and replaced them with a Dr. Scholl's inserts and they are now suuuuuuuper comfy. I can't wait to wear these out with some jeans. (Jeans?! What is happening- I guess I do miss dressing up in something other than joggers!)
The merino wool feels so soft against your skin. They are impeccably made and so pretty. I am so happy to have snagged them on sale. They still cost $115, but much better than the $185 retail price. I do think they will release more items in merino wool as fall rolls around.

I am very curious about The Driver. They look a little more interesting than The Loafer. Once September rolls around, I will place an order and write up a fit review. Which color is your favorite? I'm leaning towards Raspberry and Cognac.
That's it for me, have a fantastic weekend!
(True to size)
(This is really stunning.)
(Wish these worked for me, definitely for the taller folks though! True to size.)
Happy Friday! Those flats are so cute!!! I love how the bag looks but at the price it should be perfect. I use my EBB all the time and it's so worth it to me
ReplyDeleteSame here... I have three EBBs which is probably too many, but I do love using them all the time.
DeleteI agree that the belt bag is a bit too small to be practical. I really like the Loafer though! I think they'll look good with jeans and any neutral coloured bottoms. As for the Driver, Cognac caught my eye. Raspberry would pair well with dark denim, but since you already got the Loafer in a pink shade, I would lean towards Cognac.
ReplyDeleteGood point Karen! Cognac is probably the right call since I have the Blossom Loafer. It will be perfect for fall too.
DeleteThe loafer is so pretty in Blossom! The bag looks okay as a crossbody but odd as a belt bag in my opinion. The shape is just not flattering and kind of too stiff as a belt bag.
ReplyDeleteI’m thinking of trying the EBB but can’t decide on the color. I’m partial to grey but Graphite Grey seems a bit boring. Not sure if I like the bright colors on me, and something like Night Diver or a deep purple would be perfect! :)
Have a wonderful weekend, Leslie!
Hi Andrea! I have the EBB in three colors so I am sure if you wait a little bit the perfect one will be made for you!
