Today is my last day in New York. I'll miss my family and friends. I'm glad I pretty much got to see everyone during this trip. It was long overdue. I'm be back in Atlanta on Monday afternoon and I can't wait to open up all my packages that are waiting for me! And of course I'm excited to see my hubs and furkids too. 😆 I've got the Ventlight Cargo Crop, Perfectly Oversized Crop Crew in Softstreme, Ebb To Street all waiting for me in Tidewater Teal. Also have a giant box from J.Crew with another matching set in cotton cashmere hoodie and shorts in navy this time. I have a couple of Allbirds XTrino Tees coming up in the gorgeous Ironbark color. Aviator Nation had a Memorial Day sale and I placed a semi big order. I'm really excited about this 6 Stripe Hoodie and 5 Stripe Jacket because it reminds me of Captain Marvel. 😅

Speaking of superheroes, if there are any Daredevil fans out there, Whitestone Lanes was featured in the TV show and my parents live right by it. They somehow made it look way cooler in the show.
One of the things I like to do when I'm back at my parents place is to walk around the neighborhood. I like to see how it's changed since I've been away. A lot of new construction happened in the last 18 months.
This is my sister accompanying me on one of my walks.
Italian Icee!!
This car is a Ford Model A.
Fraisier
While I love Lady M, (in fact my wedding cakes were from Lady M, we had
chocolate and
green tea Mille Crepes served to our guests) there's a new bakery shop that just opened called
Angelina Paris. I've never been to Paris but I am happy to at least be able to try something from Paris. This shop is located near Bryant Park.
Tart Mangue Myrtille
Millefeuille, Trocadero, Eclair Chocolat
The bakery does ship, but they only ship their teas and chocolates... I guess better off that way because I'm pretty sure I gained 10 lbs since arriving here!
Here are some more Chinatown pictures. I went back to see my dentist. I know it's weird to stick with my dentist from New York after I moved away, but hear me out. She's been my dentist since I was 18 years old. She's got all my records, X-rays and my mom loves her and I do too. So I usually come back every 6 months for a cleaning. Well it's been 18 months and I still had a good check up! Brush and floss regularly kids! It'll keep your choppers in shape.

I love the grittiness of Chinatown. It's such an interesting place and so much of it as changed because of the pandemic. Lots of outdoor covered seatings for restaurants that are literally in the streets. I for one wouldn't feel comfortable sitting that close to cars driving by, but good for them for being creative. Some of those sets up are really cute. I also went to this new park called the
Little Island. It's basically a floating park in the middle of the Hudson River. You walk right onto it from Pier 55. Admission is free but you do have to make reservations online and there's 4 guest limit per reservation.
I personally think it actually looks a lot cooler from a distance. Once you're actually on the floating island it feels like a regular park.
The entrance.
There is an amphitheater on the island but right now there are no shows just yet. It's completely empty and you can sit down if you want to, but there's no shade. When I went it was 90 degrees and it definitely felt HOT!
I tried to take a panoramic view of the skyline.
My sister and her friend.
We spent about an hour at the Little Island park. There is a decent amount of grass so if you wanted to you could take a blanket with you and have a picnic. There's a couple of food stands to buy beverages and snacks. Afterwards we walked over to Chelsea Market which is only a couple of blocks away and ate lunch. Chelsea Market is an indoor food/shopping center. There's a Lululemon nearby but I did not have enough time to go! Next time!

If you're planning a trip to NYC, I highly recommend visiting Hudson Yards to see the new shops and the Vessel, the Little Island and Chelsea Market, Chinatown and Little Italy, and if you have the time check out the new
Harry Potter store in NYC. It just opened on June 3rd, but after seeing how long the wait times were, I decided to wait until my next visit to go there. Apparently the virtual queue starts at 7:30 am. The actual store opens at 9am/10am on Sunday and it takes 3-4 hours before you can actually get in. That's the only thing I really wanted to do on this trip that I didn't get to do! And if you missed my first NYC post, check it out
here.
That's it! I'm having a family dinner tonight which will conclude my trip. My next post, I'll be back in Atlanta!
How exciting! Last time I was in New York, I was in elementary. Lol Would be definitely wanna go back. Thanks for sharing your trip!
ReplyDeleteI bet New York will be completely different from what you remember it to be when you go back! =)
DeleteI used to visit New York for business but that was ages ago! Definitely want to go back one day!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your stay and have a safe trip back home!
Thanks Andrea! I am back in Atlanta. It's good to be back, I missed my furkids and my husband so much!
DeleteThank you for sharing these wonderful pictures of your trip! I went to New York pretty often when I was younger. Loved the Met and remember seeing a really cool Tim Burton exhibit that I loved. And I completely understand your dentist situation, I’ve seen the same dentist for the last 35 years and still drive 2 hours to get my teeth cleaned there! Hard to find a good dentist and teeth are definitely important. :D
ReplyDeleteWow 35 years! That's amazing. I know one day I'll have to find a new one... it's definitely hard to find doctors you really like.
DeleteI haven't been to the Met in a long time. Maybe on my next trip back!
hi Leslie! Glad to hear you had a nice time with your family! Thanks for sharing your pictures! The Little Island looks very cool from afar and I don't think it was there when I visited a few years ago!
ReplyDeleteI never noticed the Ventlight Cargo Crop until you mentioned it. It looks nice and breezy! I look forward to your review of it!
Hi Karen! The Little Island is brand new, it opened I think just last month.
DeleteI hope to have a review up of the Ventlight Cargo Crop by Friday. =)
That 5 stripe jacket looks SO LUXE. Wow! I can't wait for a review on it! :D What a cute and fun trip and tasty look pastries! I haven't had Italian ice in forever and the photo makes me reallly want some. You have to go back for the LLL store! Hahaha
ReplyDeleteOOOO a hogwarts store!! I love Harry Potter.
The 5 Stripe Jacket is a keeper, it's expensive but the retro look and style is so different I'm biting the bullet on this one.
DeleteMe too, really wish I had the time for Harry Potter but I'll be back!
