Fit Review Friday! Athleta Organic Daily Relaxed Tee & Balance Shortie

Happy Friday! This week was super busy for me. I attended my first Accounting Summit that was completely virtual. It was definitely an experience I'll never forget. I will admit it was a challenge to be sitting in front of a camera for 5-6 hours at a stretch. We did get a lunch break in the middle at least. I'm so glad the weekend is almost here! Today I have an Athleta fit review. I know I should be thinking about work clothes but my brain is still stuck on loungewear.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and I wear size XXS/XS/PXS in Athleta. For Lululemon I typically wear size 4 in tops and bottoms.

I gotta say I totally love the casual vibe of this outfit. Just wish the shorts weren't so wrinkled! I also tried on the Balance Joggers a couple of months ago and decided to give the shorts a try in this lovely shade of pink. The length is 4 inches long and hits mid thigh. I opted to size up in this from the joggers for a more comfortable lounge look and feel.

The fabric is super soft Nirvana. It's definitely heavenly to the touch but it is prone to pilling. I wash these items on delicate cycle and inside out to try and keep it as new as possible. I know eventually they will pill, but it's the trade off for such softness. The waistband has a drawstring and is mid-rise.

Love the pockets!

A couple of months ago I purchased the Organic Daily Camo Crew and love it so much, when I saw the relaxed version I decided to try it as well. Since this tee isn't available in petite sizing I opted to size down to XXS since it's a relaxed fit. It's definitely the right call and the look is very casual. The color is black but in real life it looks to be a dark charcoal or faded gray. Either way, I love it. There's a decent amount of arm coverage, the neck line isn't too tight and the length is a little long but it drapes well when partially tucked in.

This is made of organic cotton. It feels very lightweight and perfect for summer months. I love this version as much as the original and hope Athleta will release this tee in more colors. Between the two, I definitely prefer the relaxed version or you can get the same look if you size up in the original version.

That's it for me! Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

  2. I love the colour of these shorts! Would you say the waistband is quite stretchy or more stiff? I can't wait for Athleta to come to Canada in August!

Having an online summit must be tiring. I wouldn't wanna sit in front of a camera all day long.
Hope you'll have a good Friday and relaxing weekend!

    1. Hi Karen! Good question. The waistband isn't very stretchy, it has some give but it's not like my Vuori joggers where they stretch and stretch. If you pull it at the sides I would think it stretches a couple of inches out and that's about it. If you're looking for maximum comfort I would say size up. At least the drawstring can cinch in if it's a little big around the waist.

I'm so happy you guys in Canada are finally getting Athleta!

I'm ready for the weekend to start! Just going to sit and veg for a bit. I'm so tired.

    2. Good to know. You seem to read my mind. I was thinking about my Vuori joggers having the most comfy waistband ever ^_^!

    1. Hi Jenny! I knew you would like this one. What's been your most recent favorite purchase from Athleta?

    2. I picked up the Lotus Wrap in hearth rose and blue heather. And went back for the black! I sized down one size and really love it. Very similar to my favorite wrap of theirs, the Pranayama. The hearth rose is a really pretty, earthy brown. And the blue heather is also summery and happy. I’ve worn them quite a bit as they are easy to dress up or down.

I also got the Balance Wide Crop in medieval violet and black. I went with the regular length and sized down one size and they fit surprisingly well! The medieval violet is a really pretty color. I like them paired with my white Birkenstocks and a black racerback tank. Very comfortable and cute cropped pants.

And then I got the Sundown Hoodie in merlin blue. I sized up in this one since I like my hoodies on the looser side. I like how soft, smooth and light this is, great for spring and summer weather. The merlin blue is a blueish-purple and is one of my new favorite colors of theirs.

Don’t get me started on Athleta… I could go on and on! :D

    3. Hah, I love it! Whenever you try something new definitely let me know! I have been looking at the Lotus Wrap but it just looks like it would be too big and I can't size down from the smallest size... but I do love Hearth Rose so maybe I will give it a try.

I love the Balance line, it's so soft. And the merlin blue looks like a great summery color. I've been lookin at the Cabana Tunic Hoodie and Farallon Romper. The Vapor Hooded Tee in the Purple looks so cool too....

    4. If you try the Lotus wrap, let me know what you think. :)

I like the look of the Farallon Romper, I’ve not had much luck with rompers though. Maybe being petite makes it more difficult, I’m not sure. Let me know if you try it, I’m curious to see what you think!

    5. Same, I don't usually have much luck with rompers either, but it does look cute. I may try it!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
