Fit Request! Sweet Awakenings Bra, Capped Short Sleeve Tee, Nulu Fold Classic Fit Yoga Tank Top, Nulu Fold Tight Crop Yoga Tank Top
Hope you all had a nice weekend. I was in the mood for some more spring cleaning. We packed a whole cars worth of stuff to donate. I still have to go through some more things in my closet. It definitely feels good to unload things I wasn't using anymore. Today I have a couple of items that were requested for fit reviews.
For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically a size 4 in Lululemon tops. I wear a size 6 in bras.
Sweet Awakenings Bra Black Size 6
This bra is seriously comfortable and cute. It provides light support and is made for B/C cups but I am barely an A cup and I still think it fits fine. It does come with removable cup inserts. This bra comes in White Opal and Rosemary Green. I hope to see this bra in more colors. I am wearing my usual size 6 in bras and find this to be true to size. The racerback style is definitely my favorite kind of bra for working out. The price is $58 and worth it in my opinion.
I've been looking for a summery v-neck tee in a light beige or white and when I saw the Capped Short Sleeve Tee in White Opal I decided to give it a try.

I normally wear a size 4 in Lululemon tops but I sized down for this one. It is slightly oversized/relaxed fit with the length going past my hip. If you prefer the top to fit over your hips, I would stay true to size because the hem does narrow. I have the front tucked in which is how I plan on wearing this tee and the back I have it loosely folded under for a super casual look. The fabric is very soft and is on the thicker side. The website describes it as pique knit fabric and it is a nice weight. I'm tempted to get this in the black color as well!

Next up we have the Nulu Fold Classic Fit Yoga Tank Top. I'm wearing my usual size 4 and fits true to size. The length hits my lower hip. The fabric is nulu and it is very soft. The wide straps at the shoulders sit at a weird angle for me. I feel like they should be more straight instead of veering off to the sides. Not sure if that's just me.
I did find the back to be fairly easy to tie into a knot. I just double knotted it and folded the front hem underneath for a more streamlined fit. I liked this tank top, and it works nicely paired with the Sweet Awakenings Bra. I definitely like the back of the tank more than the front.

Last but not least we have the Nulu Fold Tight Crop Tank Top. I'm wearing my usual size 6. I also wear a size 6 in the Align Tank for those who are looking for a comparison. The length is the same. They are both just as comfortable. I'm just not 100% sure if the cup inserts are thinner? Or is it just the light color because I'm pretty sure you can see my nips. 🙈 The square neckline isn't as flattering on me as the Align Tank. That said, I would still try the Nulu Fold Tight Crop Tank Top in another color or pattern and preferably a darker color.
If anyone has tried this in the black color, do let me know if you have any issues with the nips!
I also took a couple of quick photos wearing my Align Tank for comparison. I do think the Align Tank fits better in the shoulders. The straps on the Nulu Fold Tight Crop Tank is set farther apart. What do you think of the Nulu Fold Tight Crop Yoga Tank Top? Let me know if you prefer the Align Tank more.

I've always wanted to try the sweet awakenings bra but wasn't sure if it'd fit me! I'm going to try it if I find it on WMTM or if they come out with other cute colors. I think the align tank looks best because there's no extra seaming in the back and side. I think the square neckline is a fun change up.
ReplyDeleteIf the Sweet Awakenings Bra comes out with cuter colors I'm down. I think I prefer the V shape neckline vs square. I would probably give it another chance in another color.

DeleteI have the sweet awakening bra in pink taupe and love it! The twist is very cute except it makes the front of any shirt bumpy :/ The capped tee looks great on you! It totally fell under my radar. Thanks for reviewing the nulu fold classic tank - for that one, I think it'll look better if the bow/tie is placed higher so there's no gap between the end of the v and the tie? Otherwise it looks too similar to the all tie up tank. On the bright side, the straps look pretty secure and won't easily fall off the shoulder?
ReplyDeleteThe nulu cropped tank - I had issues with other bra tops where nips are showing through the insert and/or the insert is shadowing through (eg white align tank). Very annoying. The only remedy is to remove the padding and use nip pads instead....but that feels like too much work sometimes. Sometimes you just wanna throw something on, looks perfect, and be done with it, you know?
That's true about the bra making the shirts bumpy. It will likely be a workout bra for me, so it's okay I guess!
DeleteIt was hard for me to tie the bow by myself as it was, I don't think I could tie it any higher without help. =( But the gaping didn't bother me though, I think it looks pretty neat and tight in the photo. At least to me! I don't think the straps would fall off if it's tied. It felt pretty secure.
Ahhh good to know about the nip pads, I'll probably stick to the darker colors and patterns. =(
