Fit Request Friday! Pace Rival Mid Rise Skirt vs Tall

Happy Friday! Today's fit review will be split into two posts. Check back on Monday for the second half. Last week there was a pretty good discussion regarding the Pace Rival Skirt and which length was best for petites. Most preferred the Tall version for more coverage.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically a size 4 in Lululemon bottoms.

I'm wearing my usual size 4 and it is true to size. The waist sits underneath my belly button. The length measures 12.5 inches long which hits my mid upper thigh. I think the regular version is flattering and looks very clean and sharp.

This skirt has a liner with pockets on the side. I should have taken a photo from the side to show this, but I  forgot. Sorry! The liner fits perfectly, because of the liner I would not size down even though the waist sits low.

The Tall version measures 14.25 inches long. Not only is there almost 2 inches of extra length, there's also extra volume to the skirt. Apologies for this one being super wrinkled, it came that way in the mail. Since I'm returning, I didn't want to iron or steam in case I messed them up somehow. The waist is the same size as the regular version.

While the longer length does provide more coverage, I don't think it's as flattering as the regular version, at least on me. The extra fabric in the back of the skirt doesn't drape as nice, but could also be because it's super wrinkly.

I laid the regular version of the skirt on top of the tall version to see the difference. It's really not much when you look at it this way. Honestly either one is fine. It boils down to what you're more comfortable with!

Front- Regular on top, Tall on the bottom.

Let me know what you think! As always have a great weekend!

  1. That skirt is super cute on you! I agree I prefer the regular length on you. I can't wait for the Court Rival skirt to restock for summer. I really want to try it. Have a great weekend!

    1. Thanks! I was surprised to find the tall length isn't really that much longer. Very interesting to me that both versions work for us.

  2. I also prefer the Navy much better! It’s super cute on you! I’m thinking a Navy Tall might not look bad cos white makes the skirt looks like it’s one size bigger!

    1. Yes I was thinking that too, white tends to make everything look bigger and poofier. Definitely something to take into account!

  3. I agree that the Navy looks really cute on you! I only have one pair of Lulu shorts in white. It is always poofy and wrinkled. It turns out that it is a different material. If you look up Material on the website, white is made of mostly nylon while other colors are mostly polyester. I am a chemist :).

  5. Thanks for the comparison! I wear the Lulu skirts for golf and have always wondered about the tall if i see one on sale. Now i know that although i prefer the regular length on my i can still get away with the tall if it's on sale!

    1. Yep, I was surprised to see there wasn't much difference in the lengths. I definitely expected a 3 inch or more!

  6. Thanks for doing this review request! Agreed, the regular length just seems “right” on you. The tall does look a little odd, and not as flattering. I’ve been look for a skirt for golf so this is so helpful! I’d be interested in seeing more skirt reviews and comparisons in the future!

  7. Thanks for the comparison! I think the Navy is a lovely color for skirts! Would you feel comfortable wearing the regular length as streetwear?

    1. Yeah I can see myself wearing something like that for streetwear, especially since there is a liner. I wouldn't be worried about flashing anyone!

  8. I have both 4t in black, red, camo and white... i like the black and other colors much better. The white fabric is different doesn't allow the skirt to lay flat while wearing. Wished I tried on before the 30 day window of returns. Oh well. It would be interesting to see both of the same colors on you side by side. I'm not much taller than you 5'1 but prefer the tall due to my big butt. lol

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
