Fit Request! Break A Trail 1/2 Zip Hoodie & Comparison Pics Align Shorts 4, 6, 8 inch Lengths

Hi everyone! This post will be very image heavy. I have a ton of photos for you guys. The Break A Trail 1/2 Zip Hoodie was a fit request. Apologies for taking awhile to get this one up. I've also got plenty of photos of all the 6" Align Shorts I sort of went a little nuts on. Let's get to it!

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically a size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.

This is a top is quite fitted around the armpit and shoulder area. The moment I put it on, I was thinking this might be a size up item, but by the time I was finished taking the photos, it felt more molded and was pretty comfortable which means there is some stretch to it. However if you're in-between sizes, definitely size up. If you prefer a more casual fit I would size up. The sleeves are very long. They do bunch up quite a bit on me even with the use of the thumbholes. They measure approximately 26.5 inches long from the shoulder. The length of this top measures 17.5 inches. It is a crop top and it hits right at the waist on me. I do think it looks great with high rise shorts like the Align Shorts. I'm wearing the gray sage in the Align Short 6 inch. They are suuuuuper soft.

Both sleeves have pockets on the arms for small items like an ID card.

The hood is nice, but I am not sure how well it will stay up if you're running.

The fabric is feels slick but has a good weight to it. It does not feel delicate or flimsy. It kind of reminds me of a rain jacket material. For $118, I think it is a little steep, but it does have a lot of little details like a hole in the hood for a pony tail, which I don't have one to show. 😅

I went a little crazy and bought too many pairs of Align Shorts in a span of two weeks. I really think they're the perfect length. Not too short, not too long. The heathered black doesn't feel as soft as my other Aligns. They're a little thicker and slightly reminds me of luxtreme blend. I do think the heathered black will hold up nicely in the long run which is why I decided to keep it.

Here are some comparison photos of Align Shorts in different lengths. I have tried the 4 inch, the 6 inch and the 8 inch. My favorite is definitely the 6 inch. I feel a little bit like Goldilocks here. The 4 inch can sometimes feel a bit like booty shorts, but they are great if you're looking for some extra coverage underneath a short skirt or short dress. The 6 inch is perfect for working out. The 8 inch is not bad, but not my favorite, they feel just a little bit too long on me at times. I have my review of the 8 inch length here.

Clockwise from the top, 4 inch lunar rock, 6 inch in diamond dye graphite gray, 8 inch in diamond dye violet verbena.

The length for the 6 inch hits right in the middle of my thigh. Fit is true to size. Feels very soft.

Are you guys still with me? Just a few more photos and we're done! I also want to give this Love Revealed Headband a shout out. It totally matches my Love Swiftly Racerback and Short Sleeve that I bought last year. If you're not a fan of the giant Lululemon logo, there is a much smaller and subtle one on the other side.

And I know you all want to see some comparison photos of the three diamond dye Align Shorts in my collection.

Clockwise- True Navy, Violet Verbena, Graphite Gray

Incognito Camo Multi Gray, Heathered Black, Gray Sage

Incognito Camo Multi Gray, Diamond Dye Graphite Gray, DD Violet Verbena, DD True Navy, Heathered Black, Gray Sage.

That's it for me! Have a fantastic Monday!!

  1. I owned one 4" Align short and the bottom bands did not stay put so I sold it. I just bought two 6" Align from WMTM, green camo and WAFS. The materials are so differently. The green camo is more slick and feels more durable while the WAFS is thicker and softer. I like them so much more than the 4" short. My only gripe is that the rise is a little too high for me - more than one inch pass my belly button. I will definitely add more Align 6" to my collection though.

Thank you for the review! Which Align 6" is your favorite?

    1. Yup the green camo from WMTM definitely is my least favorite of the bunch. My favorites are the diamond dyes. Then the gray sage because of how soft it is! The heathered black after that and then the green camo is last.

The rise is a little high for me too, but still pretty comfortable.

  2. The Love Revealed Headband is very pretty. Does it stay in place on your head? I have a big head and swear by the Fringe Fighter. All the other ones don't stay put.

    1. It does stay! Fringe Fighters are my favorite also. The only thing is it doesn't have the narrowed part that goes behind the back of your head so you have to scrunch it yourself. It's pretty snug though.

  3. Thanks for the review! I have three pairs of Align 6” and love them! I find 8” a bit restricting on the hem and 4” a tad short. I have to say both 4” and 6” tend to rise up while I practice yoga but 6” ” is more comfortable overall. I was thinking of getting the 6” in Heathered Black but ended up getting the Space Dyed one which is thicker but buttery soft. Will definitely get more Align 6” when a nice pattern come out! I try to stay away from solid colors which show the slightest pilling.

    1. Agreed Andrea! I tend to stick with prints or patterns, but the green sage is soooo soft, I will deal with the pilling. =)

  4. Thank you for another great review! I'm considering getting my first pair of align shorts and your pics very much help me decide on which length! I think the 6" looks the best on you and I will go for that! Have a great week!

  5. Thanks for the review! I was interested in the break a trail hoodie but the price is just a bit too steep and not practical for me (it looks great for trail running which I don't do). Maybe that same style with a fleece or brushed lining would be more enticing? Love that pink tho!

    1. The pink is definitely really pretty, but this top isn't something I would have kept either!

  6. Thank you for the review! The Break a Trail Hoodie is really interesting, but I think the proportions are a little off for us petites. For the price of it, I think I'm willing to wait for something a little more cozy to pop up :). Love all the Align shorts - this review made me want to buy more!

    1. The Align Shorts are definitely a must have for me. =) The Break A Trail Hoodie I would say the sleeves are definitely too long on petites but the length is fine.

    1. It's the Balance Sweatshirt from Athleta. I've added it to the links and my review as well. I love it so much I ordered another one in navy. I'm wearing size XXS. The color I'm wearing is currently on sale!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
