My Birthday Post and Naked Cashmere Review!

So this is 40. Seems like my 30s went by extremely fast. My celebratory weekend was filled with lots of take out and treats! And of course I also had to get a new bag. This is actually a vintage bag from 2005. A baby Chloe Paddington. Do you guys remember when it was the "It" bag? There were waitlists and all the celebrities had this bag in some color hanging off the crook of their arms. I actually had a couple of these back in the day but sold them off because they were very heavy. This is the baby size version. Much easier to carry. I do love my vintage bags! This one came all the way from Japan and is in mint condition. I'm loving this navy blue with gold hardware.

Also arrived just in time are these lovely Golden Gingham Mary Janes. I am so glad I got these before my size sold out! I'll have a review up soon.

My lovely co-workers sent me some cookies that were still warm! Soooo good. I love cookies that are fresh out of the oven. Popped a chocolate chip cookie right in my mouth. 😆

We can all agree calories don't count when it's your birthday, right? Got me some Shake Shack which I hadn't had in probably over a year. Also ordered ramen from Jinya. I used to go at least once a month before Covid, and now it's been a year since I last had ramen. Both did not disappoint! I missed that salty broth! My favorite is the creamy vegan ramen except I always ask for an egg. 😂 The portion size was pretty decent. I asked for two orders just in case and I'm happy to have left overs.

I FaceTimed with my family back in New York and got to "see" everyone. My nephew and niece sent me a very cute video singing Happy Birthday. I sent a thank you video back featuring my four cats which was a big hit. They apparently watched it over and over and then sent me an email asking for more cat videos. I'm very happy to oblige!

So, since this was a milestone birthday I decided I wanted to find myself a luxurious cashmere sweater. I did some Googling and found Naked Cashmere. I've never tried this brand before but everyone raved about it in the reviews. I ordered the Gena cardigan to try.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and weigh 103 lbs.

Gena Cardigan Size XS

I admit, I don't know much about cashmere, but the description states this as 678 grams of 100% pure cashmere. This is a very thick and heavy cardigan. A lot heavier than I expected and you can see it's pretty chunky. It is super soft and not scratchy at all. The fit is definitely oversized and I'm wearing size XS.

This is an open front cardigan without any pockets which was a little disappointing. I really wish there were pockets. This wasn't what I expected so I ended up returning, but I placed another order to try a few other pieces now that I know I should look for something with a lower gram count. I'm thinking 350 or less might be what I'm looking for.

I also ordered the Georgia Scarf. This weighs 360 grams and is sooooooo soft. I really loved it but wasn't 100% crazy about the fringe at the ends. The pecan color was the perfect shade for fall. The weight was heavy but not too heavy. This scarf actually came free with any purchase over $350 but since I was returning the Gena cardigan, I had to return the scarf as well. 😢 If anyone has any recommendations on other brands to try for a nice cashmere sweater, leave me a comment below!

This scarf is huge. It measures 80 by 36 and is more of a shawl than a scarf. It definitely gives off some Star Wars vibes. Even though I returned both items, I am looking forward to my replacement order I have on the way. I hope to have it before Lunar New Year / Valentine's Day weekend! That's it for me. Hope you all have a lovely Monday.

  1. Glad you had a wonderful birthday! That ramen looks yummy! Miso soup base is my favorite and I also love ramen with veggies and an egg! :P

The baby Chloe Paddington is beautiful and it’s a good size! The oversized padlock is cute and I’m loving all the design details. I used to love leather bags but now much prefer lighter bags, which means I’m getting old LOL!

The cashmere cardigan is very nice in the front view, but definitely looks huge from the back. Agree you should go for something lighter cos you want that light, luxurious feeling of wearing cashmere! :)

I’m a scarf/shawl person but also not a big fan of fringes. The Karen Scarf looks nicer to me.

    Thanks for the review!

    1. Thanks so much Andrea! I have the Karen Scarf coming but I think it's going to be huge, so it may end up being a wrap for the house when it's cold and I want to cuddle on the couch. =)

  2. Happy birthday!! Ramen and cookies sound amazing! Yay you got the gold Rothy's! The cardigan looks so luxurious but too bad there's no pockets! Haha a Star Wars scarf! It is a bit overwhelmingly big. Also love the blue and gold colors of the Chloe bag.

  4. hi Leslie! Happy to hear that you spoiled yourself on your birthday! That's how it should be! I do remember the Chloe Paddington bag. It's such an iconic style! The baby size still looks roomy enough for all the daily essentials. I think it's a great choice! I love your tee too! The cat in the converse shoe is so cute! Look forward to your fit review on Friday!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Review! Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Size Small Plus Video

You all know I love my bags, and as a Balenciaga collector, I don't often stray from the City and First style. The Rodeo (pronounced like Rodeo Drive) really caught my eye. It gives off a slouchy Hermes Kelly vibe, but way more practical to use.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall. Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Small The Rodeo can be carried a few ways. It comes with a crossbody strap that is not adjustable but it is removable. Not sure why anyone wouldn't add a few extra holes to make a strap adjustable these days. Come on Balenciaga! Do better! The top handle is a bit too long for this to work anyhow, I feel like the top handle gets in the way. It sticks out and doesn't sit well in my opinion. I wouldn't carry this bag crossbody unless it was an unforeseen emergency and I really needed my hands free. This bag looks more chic carried by the handle or crook of the arm. It also looks nice left open with the help of the flap tucked in. The Rodeo resembles the Kelly bag ...

Review! Lululemon's Large Everywhere Belt Bag Size Comparison Plus Video!

Happy Friday! I can't believe it's almost Halloween! I actually have a dentist appointment on Halloween. One of my molars chipped and needs to be filled in. It's a tiny chip that I didn't even notice until my dentist pointed it out to me during my last visit. I'm not looking forward to it at all since I will need local anesthesia. Anyway, today I have a belt bag size comparison review for you all! For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.
