Fit Review Friday! Target All In Motion Activewear

Happy Friday! I can't believe it's going to be March in 3 days. This year is already 1/6th over. We're also coming up on one year working from home. At least for me. I hope you're all doing well, or as well as can be and hopefully there will be some light at the end of this year when this go back to mostly normal. In the meantime I'll keep coming up with reviews for you guys!

I know some of you, including myself are on a low buy for the year. I'm being super picky about what I'm keeping these days. I have to weigh the cost and ask myself, how often will I actually use this item? It makes me stop when I see the price of a Scuba Hoodie at $118-$128. Ouch, right? On my once a week excursions to Target I passed by a stack of hoodies. I couldn't resist touching it to see how it felt. I was so surprised at how soft it felt, that I had to try it. That is how we came upon this post. I'm reviewing three different hoodies from Target.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically a size 4 in Lululemon tops. Here I am wearing size XS which is equivalent to a size 4 in Lululemon. Size Small is equivalent to a 6.

First off, the price of this hoodie is $24. It really does not get better than that. At a quick glance -like out of the corner of my eye if someone was passing by, it almost looks like a Scuba Hoodie. I'm wearing size XS and it fits similar to a size 4 but with a little extra room, which means it is very comfortable on. No restrictions in the sleeves, or the wrist cuffs or the shoulders and back. It's definitely not as fitted as a Scuba Hoodie but that's why it feels so much better, at least for me!

I absolutely love the color, this one is called dark taupe but it looks like lavender to me. There is cozy fleece lined on the inside. It's not as thick as the Scuba Hoodie, but it's fairly warm. I would say it is a light to medium weight hoodie. This also has thumbholes! The pockets are deep enough to hold my iPhone 12. The drawstrings are a nice touch even though I never use them. The zippers run smooth, no hiccups at all. For $24, the quality exceeded my expectations.

Verdict? I would totally buy another one in a heartbeat. For $24, it's a no brainer. I actually wish the mulberry color wasn't sold out because I would buy that one next. Who knew Target makes cute hoodies?!

This is the same hoodie as the one above but in size small. I was curious to see if I liked the oversized fit in a size up. I actually prefer my Scuba Hoodie in a size 6 rather than my usual size 4. The length is definitely a little longer and there's more coverage in the back.

The sleeves are longer and a little wider and overall a baggier fit. I definitely think this is similar to a size 6 in Lululemon. I actually like both sizes. I think size XS looks more put together, but a size small also works if you like the slightly oversized look.

After trying on Lululemon's Oversized 1/2 Zip Hoodie, I decided to try the 1/4 zip in a color the reminds me of lavender dew. The color is a very light lavender/lilac shade. I'm wearing size XS. The fit is slightly oversized, but nowhere near the Scuba Oversized 1/2 Zip.

The overall length hits at the hip, the sleeves are a little long but not terrible. There are no thumbholes however. The inside is lined with fleece and is very soft. The price? $20! This pullover hoodie doesn't have the kangaroo pocket in the front which is a little disappointing, but other than that the fit is much better than the Lululemon version in my opinion, especially if you're petite.

Next up we have the Cozy Fleece Tunic Full Zip. Lululemon currently does not have one similar to this, but I had to try it when I saw it on the website. I really like the longer tunic length for coverage.

I'm wearing size XS. The cut is fairly straight, it does not hug the body at all. I do not feel self conscious wearing this. Sometimes this is exactly what I need when I'm feeling bloated. When I'm not feeling great about myself, I tend to want to wear things that are a little more forgiving. This is one of those pieces.

This hoodie has a two way zipper, great for styling and extra airflow. Inside is lined in fleece. There are side pockets and thumbholes! I think for $35, this is a great casual piece to have.

This also comes in an amazing blue. The next few photos show this hoodie unzipped. I think this is a great casual jacket/coat/hoodie/sweatshirt. It covers a lot!

One thing to note, the two way zipper can be slightly more tricky than a traditional zipper. I did have to fiddle with the zippers just a little bit to get it zipped up.

Sometimes I have to ask myself, is the difference worth the extra $100 for Lululemon? Sometimes the answer is yes, sometimes the answer is no. What do you think? Out of the three pieces I think Fleece Full Zip Hooded Sweatshirt is the best one. I would definitely choose it over the Scuba Hoodie. That's it for me! Hope you all have a great weekend!

  1. Oh I love your Target scores! Dark Taupe and Tunic Blue are soooooo pretty! If I had to choose only one item it would be the Cozy Fleece Full Zip in Tunic Blue! Love the fit, the length and the color is to die for!

The Quarter Zip definitely looks nicer on you than the Lululemon Half Zip. I actually like it without the kangaroo pocket which sometimes makes a cropped top too look “crowded”.

Prices of the hoodies are unbeatable and looks like the workmanship is not bad! My only gripe would be the unlined hood but for that price you just can’t complain!

Thanks for the review and have a nice weekend!

    1. Hi Andrea! Hah, I knew you would like the Tunic in the blue. That's true about the kangaroo pocket making the top look crowded. Good point. I did notice the cream hoodie has a white lining on the inside, which does stick out when you see the hood down, but the dark taupe at least is the same color on the inside and it does look better. Same with the blue tunic. But yes you definitely can't beat the price. =)

  2. LoL- I just bought an all in motion and joy lab shirt! I was getting tired of the uploads- nothing really new or the shirts are all cropped. Passing by the athletic dept at target and I saw 2 LS shirts. Soft, functional and at $22 a piece! I really like the blue tunic and the dark taupe full zip on you. Such a deal!

  3. I like both the Fleece Full Zip Hooded Sweatshirt in Dark Taupe and Cozy Fleece Full Zip in Tunic Blue! Dark taupe reminds me of violet verbena and Tunic Blue looks a little like Blue cast. Such pretty shades! I am so accustomed to Lululemon's pricing that I never imagined one could find such great pieces at these price points. Have you decided if you'll keep any of them?

    1. Yep I am keeping the dark taupe and cream in the Fleece Full Zip Hoodie. I like my Hoodies to be in different sizes. =) I am also keeping the Fleece Full Zip Tunic in the gray! So 3 out of 5. =)

  4. I love the cut of the Target quarter zip! If only LLL made some petite friendly pullovers!
I find myself reaching for my non LLL brands more often bc I prefer the fit way more even though I love the quality and comfort of the LLL ones.

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed
