Fit Request! Align Short 8 Inch Diamond Dye & Wrap Front Mock Neck Crop Short Sleeve

First day of March! I love new months. It's like a clean slate to start something new and especially with spring coming, I'm so looking forward to warmer weather and being able to go outside a little more. Today I have a couple of new items I've never reviewed before.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically a size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.

Also wearing In Alignment Bra Size 6 and Catch A Breath Hoodie- similar here.

I'm wearing my normal size 4 in Align bottoms. Fit is true to size. The print is a gorgeous diamond dye violet verbena/graphite gray. It's currently only available in very few sizes but I actually really want to get the 6 inche diamond dye graphite gray. Anyhow, the 8 inch length is definitely long on my short legs. They hit a couple of inches above my knees. They remind me of biker shorts. I actually don't mind the length but maybe it's because I really love the print? I do think the 4 inch length can be too short at times, and they look like booty shorts, so I'm betting I will really like the 6 inch length which I haven't tried yet. I may try them soon since short weather is right around the corner!

What do you guys think the length? Too long or can I pull it off? I think it looks cute with the Catch A Breath Hoodie. I do plan on keeping it and when the stores open again I will have these hemmed. What length do you like best for shorts? Next up we have a review of the Wrap Front Mock Neck Crop Short Sleeve which was requested.

also wearing Werkshop leggings in Phoenix Size small.

I'm wearing my usual size 4. I knew this would be a skin tight fit and while it does look like it fits the same on the model, I will say I found it just a tad too tight for me in the chest near the armpit area. You can see the stretch lines in the photos. I think this runs just a tad small for a size 4. I do have broader shoulders, so I think that's why I would need a size 6 for it to fit more comfortably. Personally I would size up in this.

The sleeves do fit nicely and I didn't find them to be too tight. The length comes right up to my elbow which is the perfect length. I do wonder if it would be too long in the size 6 though. I have relatively short arms so this shouldn't be a problem for most!

I do think it's a flattering top. The fabric is made of nulu so it is very soft on the body. It fits slightly cropped but works well with a high rise legging. It would be great for casual wear. It says this is made for yoga as well, but I wouldn't want anything that high up against my neck while getting sweaty. Just my opinion! That's it for me, hope everyone has a fabulous Monday!

  1. I love my first pair of Align Shorts 6” in Diamond Dye Graphite Grey so I ordered the Align Short Diamond Dye 8” in Violet Verbena to try on. The print is gorgeous but not the fit. I didn’t mind it being a bit long but the hem dug into my thigh and was very uncomfortable. I ended up returning it and ordered a pair of 6” in Space Dye Black/White,

Definitely try on the 6” and see which length you prefer. You can have the 8” hemmed but I just didn’t wanna bother lol,

    1. Oh really. That didn't happen with me with the hem. It fits perfectly around my thigh. I guess I need to work on my legs! LOL. But happy to hear you love the 6 inch length. I think I will order a couple of pairs. They have a nice gray sage too! I know you do not like green, but it's the perfect combination of gray and green and goes with a lot.

    2. I hesitated buying the 8 inch thinking it would be way too long for me as a 5ft girl but I am gonna say it and think the length is very flattering on you! I also think the 6 inch would look good on you but wanted to drop a line and say how great I think it is on you. I’m from Australia and don’t think we have that colour way although we have some items in Water Drop coming and I love the blue!

    3. Oh hey! Thanks so much Jenna!! Appreciate you dropping by. Hmmm maybe I will leave it as is then. I wore them for a workout today and didn't mind the length either. I definitely prefer the extra coverage over the 4 inch ones! I'm looking forward to the upload tomorrow. =)

  2. Hi Leslie! Wow! The violet verbena diamond dye is very pretty! The length is not bad at all, but I agree that 6" may be more perfect! The Wrap Front Mock Neck Crop Short Sleeve looks flattering on you, but I think it's too cropped for myself. I don't like tops that show my midriff. Hee hee, I like to keep my belly button warm!

  3. Love the diamond dye print and I don't think the align shorts look too long because that biker length is a look! I've only tried the 6" but those ride up to about 4" or 3" on me when I move.
The nulu top is so sleek I love it. I'm not a fan of mock necks because they feel too constricting but it looks chic

    1. Ah, well the 4 inch ones ride up to 2 when I move so the 6 inch ones should be much better haha.

  4. Both the items you reviewed are super cute on you. I think the length of the shorts looks fine on you. I have those 8 inch Aligns, and I have to say, the 8 inch is my favorite length in the Align shorts. I find the 6 inch tend to ride up a bit when I work out in them, and the 10 inch just looks kind of silly on my 5ft1 body.

The Wrap Front Mock Neck Top is awesome on you! I think it would look very chic with some wide-leg trousers. Thanks for reviewing that one and the tips about the sizing.

    1. Really! Wow and you're not much taller than me. Good to know your favorite is the 8 inch. The 10 inch length would definitely be too long on me. 8 is the max for someone my height.

Yes that top would look very good with some wide legs. I wouldn't have thought of that!
