J.Crew Review! Cropped Cardigan Sweater and Sophie Sweater Blazer Chevron

Another weekend over. I swear they go by so fast. It's almost the end of October. Normally I like to buy a few items during fall to refresh my wardrobe and more often than not, I turn to J.Crew. They always have pieces that can transition from the office to the weekend. Even though I'm no longer going into the office these days, I couldn't resist these two pieces.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and typically a XXS/XS in J.Crew. I also wear a size 4 in Lululemon tops.

I used to have a very similar chevron sweater from Anthropologie that I wore to death and got compliments every time I wore it. This sweater blazer kind of reminds me of that Anthropologie sweater I used to have. It's super soft and I was pleasantly surprised when I took it out of the bag at how much I liked it. The fabric is lightweight, yet cozy. This is something I would wear to the office but this is also a piece that can easily be worn on a weekend outing. Not that I'm really going anywhere but Target and Whole Foods, but we can still try and pretend things are normal by getting dressed up with our masks on of course. 😃

I'm wearing size XXS and I think it fits perfectly. The shoulders fit just right, the length of this sweater isn't too long. The sleeves are actually where I like them to be. This supposed to be a 7/8 length sleeve, but on my it's full length. I am loving the little details on this piece. Plus, it's on sale right now. J.Crew is having awesome sales lately.

For those of you thinking, well I'm into wearing my sweatshirts and joggers lately, this blazer doesn't really work with my outfits these days. I hear you! However, this combination may work with a different color sweater blazer like the model below. I dare say, I would actually wear this outfit. I think I'll try it next weekend. I have that exact one in heather charcoal. 😂

Alright, up next we have my favorite cardigan. This one is the clear winner for me out of the two pieces. The Cropped Cardigan Sweater is super soft. It's made of merino wool/alpaca mix. I didn't find this piece to be itchy, although I did read some reviews who said it was for them. Easy remedy would be to wear a long sleeve shirt underneath like a button down. This also gives the cardigan a collar and some added visual details to make the outfit pop. I love this look, I think it's easy to wear with pants or jeans. Even my husband complimented how cute I looked.

Cropped Cardigan Sweater Heathered Charcoal Size XS

I'm wearing size XS here, and it's a very generous fit. The sweater is slightly boxy. The length is shorter in the front and longer in the back with a little side slit. The sleeves are a little long, but I have them cuffed up and I think it works very well with the ribbing matching the details of the cardigan.

This is how it looks open, I still kind of like the look.

If you're looking to have a more fitted look, you may want to size down. I'm really into the oversized look right now and I find it to be most comfortable. I actually like this cardigan so much, I'm about to place another order for the olden green and ivory rainbow.

Side slit detail.

Also wearing Rothy's The Point.

That's it for me! Hope you all have a fantastic Monday!

  1. The cropped cardigan looks so comfy! I like how you pair it with a longer plaid shirt which balances out the boxiness and shortness of the cardigan while making the whole outfit more interesting. I usually just wear cardigans with tees. :)

The blazers is nice and versatile and my only complaint would be the sleeve length. I wish the sleeves were either full length or a few inches shorter. Now the length is a bit embarrassing in my opinion, just like it was made a couple inches too short.

    1. True, if you have longer arms than I do, it may be at a weird length. You could also cuff the sleeves for an intentional casual look. =)

  2. You are so cute! I just started a blog and it is so geared toward consumerism, my obsession with Lululemon, etc. I'm so glad I found your blog. I'm sort of petite - 5'5 but sometimes I can't find jackets small enough so maybe just part of me is petite! Anyway, love your truth.

    1. I agree, it's a little too big. There will always be something else, so I'm not too upset lol.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
