Fit Review! Athleta Store Try Ons! Crazy Cozy Chill Hoodie, Mantra Wrap, Recover Hoodie

Hope everyone had a relaxing weekend! We went walking along a trail which we have NEVER done before. Usually we just go to parks but this was almost kind of like semi-hiking for us city folk. 😆 It was actually really nice, we ran into a family of deer and saw lots of chipmunks and squirrels which scared us at times, lol. I would definitely do it again!

This is the first store try on review I've done since March!! I tried getting into Lululemon but everything is by appointment only and by the time I got to the store the appointments were all booked for the day! So, here we are at Athleta.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically size 4 in Lululemon tops, for Athleta this translates to size XXS/PXS or XL/XXL in girls.

This is actually Athleta Girls, and I really like this hoodie. The color is shaded teal and it's really beautiful in person. The photos are pretty close to real life and I have to say I'm pretty tempted to order this online. I passed this up in the store but I keep thinking about it. I'm wearing size XXL for the oversized look, I could have easily fit the XL for a more true to size fit. The one thing that I did find slightly weird is the non existent band/hem at the bottom. It kind of folds inwards. It wasn't uncomfortable, it's just not what I'm used to from sweatshirts. This was very comfortable and cozy.

See? No band at the bottom of the sweatshirt. It just folds in!

The price is a little steep for kids in my opinion, but it did feel high quality and the inside was a soft fleece. It's $69, if I get some rewards I may pick it up next month. This also comes in a very pale pink that's a little too subtle for me. Shaded teal is definitely the better color.

When I saw the Mantra Wrap on the website, I thought that looks really cute! I could pull something like that off, it's very Harry Potter! Ummm nope. It's waaaaaaAAAAAYYYY too big! I would need this in a XXS or XXXS!

Really too much fabric everywhere. This is definitely for the taller folks! Easy pass if you're petite like me. The color on the other hand is very nice. I love this shade of green.

I reviewed the Recover Hoodie before in the Smoked Almond Brown and loved it so much I wanted to see if I needed it in the black as well.

I decided the smoked almond brown is definitely the color to purchase this hoodie in if you're only going to get one. The black does look very nice but it's not as luxe. The winner in this post is definitely the Athleta Girl Crazy Cozy Chill Hoodie Shaded Teal! Hopefully Athleta will do another friends and family sale soon! I have a few items in my cart I'm saving for their next sale.

That's it for me! Hope you all have a fabulous Monday!

  1. The Crazy Cozy Chill Hoodie is too cute and I love the color! Not a green person but I do love teals. I think this size is perfect cos I love the oversized look on you. The bottom looks a bit weird without the ribbed cuff but I kind of like that it’s different. Do consider ordering it when it’s on sale,

    1. Thanks! I will definitely keep an eye on this hoodie. It's very cute and will be a good layering piece. It's pretty warm, but roomy enough for something underneath.

  2. That Athleta girl hoodie design is strange at the pockets but still cute. The wrap looks like it could be a cloak haha! The recover hoodie is nice in black but I love the brown a lot more! I like your Athleta reviews bc I wouldn't otherwise know what products they have in season. I only browse their site every few months lol!

    1. Thanks! I always fear my Athleta posts aren't as popular as Lulu- since a lot of readers seem to be from Canada and Athleta isn't available there. Totally boggles my mind. Athleta definitely has moved up the ladder the past couple of years. I'm wearing the Recover Hoodie in the smoked almond brown right now... =D

  3. Lol- as I was scrolling through(before reading) I saw the pic of the mantra gown. I thought it looked like a graduation gown!! Glad you passed on that one. The teal hoodie looked good on you. I agree the recover hoodie in the smoked almond looked like a better color. Shows off all the nice details. I prefer zip up hoodies, but I’m thinking the recover hoodie with the zippered pockets , nice details and looks petite friendly might just sway me to purchase. Thanks for the great try on reviews!

    1. Hi Sherry! Hahaha yes a graduation gown is pretty accurate LOL. If you get the Recover Hoodie let me know what you think. It's probably the best Athleta piece I've bought in a long time!

  5. I agree with everyone that the oversized teal hoodie looks great on you and it's a very nice colour! It's too bad that we don't have Athleta in Canada, but I still enjoy reading your reviews on their items!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
