Fit Review! Hotty Hot Short High-Rise 2.5 Inch & Ready To Rulu Jogger Crop 24 Inch

Hope everyone had a nice weekend! I can't believe it's the first day of fall. Where did the summer go? I did my photo shoot and will split the reviews in two posts. The bottoms will be reviewed today and the two tops will be ready for Fit Review Friday.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically a size 4 in Lululemon bottoms.

As most reviews have stated, the waist runs large in the high-rise version of Hotty Hot Shorts. I'm wearing my usual size 4. Even though the waist is bigger, the panty liner doesn't feel like it's loose on me, so I am not 100% sure I would size down. I personally would stick with my normal size. The waistband is very stretchy but it's also comfortable. The waist hits right underneath my belly button, so even though these are considered to be "high-rise" they do not feel very high, which I like. The length is 2.5 inches which I do find flattering on short legs. The cerulean blue is super vibrant and I absolutely love this shade. This one is a keeper! I'm glad I tried the high-rise version. I will definitely purchase more. Right now, white is the only color in stock. I hope they will restock soon.

Next up, I had high hopes for the Ready To Rulu Jogger Crop in true navy. I'm wearing my usual size 4. The waist is also labeled as high-rise, but similar to the Hotty Hot Short High-Rise, they also hit right underneath my belly button. These are true to size.

The rulu fabric is super soft and buttery. They feel like Aligns but thicker. These would be great for fall. I'm very sad to say these are full length on me, but the deal breaker are the wide cuffs. I feel like they should definitely have been tighter. The leg kind of flares out just a bit and reminds me of bootcut jeans. My favorite joggers are still Vuori joggers in terms of fit and comfort. I'm waiting for them to release a petite length which should be very soon!

(Way too much fabric around the knees.)

I tried pulling them up and even though they kind of fit around my calves, I'm pretty sure after some movement they would have fallen down quickly. Even though these are crop length, they're still made for taller folks! That's it for me. Hope everyone has a great Monday!

  1. The HH HR 2.5" short looks amazing on you! The fit looks perfect and cerulean blue is one of the best blues that Lulu makes. I love my HH HR 4" shorts for casual wear. I was sad to put them away since it is getting so cold in the northeast. I wish Lulu made a pant version of it with either Nulu or Rulu. I agree that the R2R crop failed in the ankle area. Us vertically challenged have a hard time with Lulu bottoms. Now they expanded the size range to 20. Maybe they will bring the Asia fit to North America?

    1. Yes, it's starting to get colder here finally, but I am still wearing shorts to do my workouts at home for now. I saw the new sizes, very exciting to see! I was thinking maybe we will see Asia fit in the near future too. How awesome would that be for us?!

  2. The High Rise version of the Hotty Hot shorts looks so much nicer! I tried on the mid rise one and it fitted like low rise and was pulling everywhere. I’m glad you got it in Cerulean Blue which is absolutely vibrant!

So sad the Ready to Rulu Jogger Crops doesn’t work on you. Everywhere else fits well except the wide cuffs! Bummer!

    1. Thanks Andrea! Yep now I'll keep an eye out for more.

Same here... joggers are probably the one item I'll never be able to fit unless they come out with a 17 inch length!

  3. Cerulean is so pretty! I have it in the Speed Up 2.5”s, a Swiftly RB, and a F&F belt that’s on the way. HHs look like soggy diapers on me but look cute on you!

What a shame about the R2Rs. I was really hoping they would for us shorties.

  5. Agree with everyone! The HH shorts in cerulean blue look great on you! Thanks for trying the joggers. Now I won't need to! I still love my Ivivva rulu joggers. Too bad they stopped the girls' line!

    1. Hi Karen! I have 4 pairs of Ivivva joggers. They're probably the best fitting ones I have. I do have some girls stuff from Athleta, but their joggers are very hit or miss on me. Sometimes they work, sometimes it's a big no.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
