Fit Review! In Alignment Straight Strap Bra & Athleta Girl All Play Short

Hope everyone had a nice weekend! I can't believe I am closing in on my 1000th post! I've got three more to go. I've been blogging almost five years now, which is kind of crazy. I wanted to let you all know that there will be a raffle coming up to celebrate this milestone. I'm giving you guys a heads up to check back in a week for more details!

I normally do not do an in depth fit review on bras, but I am sooooo excited to share this fit review with you all so you know it's going to be a good one. I decided to bite the bullet and ordered the In Alignment Straight Strap Bra in grey sage.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and typically a size 4 in Lululemon tops, but for Lululemon bras I normally wear a size 6. I also wear a size small in Athleta bras.

Initially when I took the bra out of the bag, honestly I wasn't sure it was going to fit because the band looked really small.  Thankfully it has a decent amount of stretch. It did feel a little tight in the beginning, but after wearing it for a day, it stretched a little bit and now I find it to be really comfortable. My last bra purchase was the Quiet Within Bra and I like this bra even more.

I have to say I think this bra is freaking amazing!!! This is a $68 bra, which is the most I've ever spent on a bra but I think it's worth the money. The fabric is so soft and buttery smooth, it's probably as close as you can get to the feeling of not actually wearing a bra. It's not quite there, but it's sooooo close. There's no underwire but it still provides support. I'm very small on top, so I don't need a whole lot of support to begin with. This bra is for A/B cups and I'm on the smaller side of A. I hope Lululemon releases this in a bigger cup size for the rest of you ladies.

The straps are wide and flat and they actually stay put. I have not found myself adjusting the straps at all. They do not fall down which I am amazed at because that has always been my number one pet peeve with bras. I think this is the perfect everyday bra and really considering replacing all of my regular bras with his one. I'm so close to just ordering the other three colors available. I love this bra so much!!!

I have not done a workout in this bra yet, but I definitely think it would be fine for low impact activities like weight training and yoga. The other benefit to the hook-and-eye closure is not having to pull it over your head after a workout. Easy and and easy off.

Let's look at the details of this bra, it has built in molded cups and they're lightly padded. I prefer this over bra inserts because I always find it annoying to have to keep removing and inserting them after each wash.

It has a hook-and-eye closure and I have it on the largest setting which is definitely the right call because as the bra stretches I will have some room to tighten the band.

The next two photos show how soft and pliable the fabric is. It just drapes and bends, I don't think I've ever seen anything like this before, at least not in a bra! I give this bra 4.5 stars. Took off half a point because there is a wrinkle underneath the bust. I wish it were completely smooth, but I do not know what's causing that wrinkle. It's not awful but it is there. I would be curious to know if this happens to anyone else or if it's just me because I'm very small chested.

There is a tag, not sure if I should cut it off? It's not a rip tag. So far it hasn't bothered me. I may leave it. Bottom line? Do yourself a favor and order this bra. It's already starting to sell out in the gray sage and I really hope this bra becomes a staple. Hopefully Lululemon will release this bra in more colors. I am 100% sure this bra will end up on my Best of 2020 list at the end of the year!

I am also wearing Athleta Girl All Play Short. The inseam is three inches which is perfect because sometimes I think the 2.5 inch length can be a tad short.

I'm wearing size XL/14 which translates to a size 4 in Lululemon. I would say a size 2 would be L/12 and size 6 would be XXL/16. The waistband has a lot of stretch and there's also a drawcord to cinch. I love the two zippered pockets. They're small but can definitely fit some cash and ID cards and some gel packs.

These are low rise shorts. The waistband hits about an inch underneath my belly button. There is no built in liner and the fabric is similar to Swift fabric. For $36 I think these are well worth it. These feel and fit very similar to Hotty Hot Short but with a slightly longer length.

In other news Lululemon did a sneaky upload of a few item sometime yesterday or maybe it was Friday.

(Cute detail. Similar to I Dream Of Jeannie pants! Who remembers that show? I used to watch that everyday when I was a kid. It would be awesome if they made these in hot pink. 😆)

(The description cracks me up, it says "a hidden essential oils pocket ensures you can reach for tranquility at a moment's notice." I mean is that really a thing? People carry around essential oils?) 😂

That's it for me! Hope you all have a great Monday!

  1. You made me wanna try the bra but it is kind of expensive! Do you find this bra chest-flattening at all? That’s my major problem with most Lululemon bras ,,,

    1. You also have the Quiet Within Bra, right? I think this bra makes me look bigger than the Quiet Within Bra. I'm more self conscious and I do think I look flatter in the Quiet Within Bra, if that helps any (it's why I didn't post a modeling picture of me in it!).

    2. Thank you for the advice, Leslie! I’m small chested and don’t need anymore flattening LOL!

  2. Ooo that bra looks great! Love grey sage too. I usually pull sports bras over my hip instead of my head haha but I have small hips so maybe that's why it works.

    1. Wow! I never thought that was something even possible. That's definitely a benefit of having small hips. =D

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
