Fit Review Athleta Girl All Play Farallon Short Dark Surf Teal

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. It's Memorial Day and I hope everyone gets to spend some time with your loved ones. It's easier said than done these days but I am seeing some videos of people getting together at pool parties and parks. It's a little scary but I also miss doing those things. So far we are still staying inside even though it's starting to feel like summer. Which is why I have a pair of shorts for review!

I like to call these my summer quarantine shorts. They're lounge shorts. These are made of super soft cotton.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and typically a size 4 in Lululemon bottoms. I also wear a size P0 or PXS in Athleta. For Athleta Girls I am wearing XL/14.

I love that these have pockets, but I admit they are shallow. So I wouldn't put my phone in there at all. Much too small for that. There's a drawstring at the waist and the ties are colorful and cute. I picked the dark surf teal over the delicate pink. Although now that I have worn these, I wouldn't mind another pair. The dark surf teal is a medium green blue. The stock photo on the website looks more blue but I think in real life it's more green.

There is a pocket on the back.

These sit about an inch below my belly button and the waist band is very comfortable. I wear a size 4 normally in Lululemon bottoms and these are definitely generous on me.  Waist measures 13 inches across. The inseam measures 3.5 inches. The rise measures 9 inches.

The side slit is flattering.

I've been wearing my Warm Down Crew pullover with these shorts and I love how comfortable this whole outfit is and I feel pretty cute in it too. Maybe I will pick up the pink pair as well.

This is my first pair of Athleta Girl shorts and I'm very pleased! In other news, Athleta is having a pretty major sale and it's definitely worth checking out. This year my Athleta wardrobe is definitely expanding.

(My favorite Athleta jacket. See my review.)

  2. The shorts are so cute on you and I love the color! The fitting is just perfect. Love how nice it goes with your Lulu sweat too!

There are so many items that I love at Athleta but I’m not sure if duties will be charged shipping to Canada. Once I bought a pair of Birkenstock sandals from Germany and paid 60% for the duties!!! Oh how I wish we had Athleta in Canada!

    1. Thanks Andrea! I do think you will be charged duties. =( I have a friend in Canada who lives close to the border and close - I mean about an hour drive, so she will drive to the border to pick up her mail and drive back. I am guessing she has a PO Box over there to avoid paying duties. I know others will have everything shipped to a friend in the states and the friend will ship everything in a giant box. But this only works if you are not expected to return anything.

I seriously don't know why there isn't an Athleta in Canada.... makes no sense to me!

    2. Thanks for the info, Leslie! I guess the Canadian market is too small. ;)

Always enjoy reading your fit reviews! Keep up the good work!

  4. What a cute outfit! I have a few pairs of the Athleta Farallon jogger pants and really like the material and fit. I may have to try the shorts now!

A good chunk of my wardrobe consists of Athleta. Have you tried any of their bras? I’m really picky about bras and have quite a few from Athleta that I really like.

    1. I tried some on at the stores a while back, nothing recent- and the fit was always a bit off for me. If you have some you would like to recommend, let me know and I'll take a look!

I've been digging the Ebb To Street Bra and have been on ebay looking for some older colors. I've been unloading some of my FTBW bras.

    2. I really like the Athleta Solace bra, it’s made in their powervita fabric which I really find comfortable. I bought one in every color since I rarely find anything that fits right. I have a slightly large chest, so I often have trouble with Lululemon bras since they seem to be geared more towards a more normal sized chest. :)

    3. Thanks! I'll try a couple of their powervita bras on my next Athleta order. =)

    4. Excellent! I’m interested to hear what you think.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
