Fit Review Friday! Hooded Define Jacket Graphite Gray and Stargaze

Happy Friday! I am super excited to share these photos with you all. I can't decide which one I like more. Help me decide which one to keep!

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically a size 4 in Lululemon, but for the Hooded Define Jacket I need to size up to a 6.

First off I will start by saying they both feel buttery silky smooth. I do not find one to be softer than the other. Also there is a pink tint to the photos, I think that was just the lighting in my condo, it's not tinted pink in real life. Both jackets are pure gray toned colors. They both fit exactly the same and this jacket runs small. I do need to size up in this jacket. I'm normally a size 4 in the regular Define Jacket. I find this jacket to be most comfortable in the nulu fabric.

The sleeve length is long, but it isn't too bad when I use the thumbholes. It actually feels like the right length. I do like the lighter color stargaze a lot. I think it's great for spring and summer. The contrast zipper does feel just a tad strong against the pattern, but it does work well with the rest of the lines on the jacket. I also do not have anything this light in my wardrobe.

Now onto the graphite gray version. I think this one is slightly more flattering to the figure. Of course everyone looks slimmer in darker colors, amiright?? But at the same time the graphite gray is more subdued and blends together in a hazy dark cloud. It feels stormy and more suited for fall rather than the summer weather we will soon be heading into. Although, I do feel a little more comfortable wearing darker colors in general.

I love the length of this jacket. While it doesn't provide full coverage over the bum, it is good enough that I do not feel self conscious. So help me! I can't decide between the two colors. Leave me your vote in the comments!

Which version do you like more?

In other news, WMTM had a small update that's worth checking out. I did notice a lot of sizes have already sold out in most items. I guess everyone really is shopping online more, now that all the stores are closed.

That's it for me! Hope you all have a great weekend. Stay safe out there.

  1. I think both colors are fabulous, but after reading your descriptions of each jacket, I think you prefer the lighter one. I say keep the stargaze, as it will be great for spring (and it's more interesting than the dark one), and see if the graphite goes on WMTM later :)

  3. Do you follow your heart or your brain? I had the same struggle when I placed the order. You may remember what I ordered, the lighter colored. Seeing the darker one on you does NOT help me with my dilemma. I am evening thinking about ordering size 8 to try since I am a little bigger than you. Both look great on you so you can't go wrong with either.

    1. Hahahha, glad I'm not the only one stuck. If you do end up ordering the darker one, let me know your thoughts on it!

  4. You know I am not a fan of the constraint stitchings on the lighter version but it actually isn’t that bad! You know I’m a medium/dark grey person but honestly the Stargaze one looks very nice in person, at least it looks super cute on you! So the verdict is, go with the Stargaze/lighter version!

  5. I prefer the darker version on you, but I’m biased towards darker colors in general and I like the darker version on me. They both look lovely on you!

  6. Both jackets are so pretty. You make me want something in that print! I like the darker stormy version but the lighter one does feel happier and more spring.

  7. Dang, that's a hard one. I typically go for dark palettes, but the lighter one is really pretty, too! I can't seem to keep lighter colors clean, so I would personally keep the darker one...but you look great in both.

  9. I really love both on you, but the light one really brightens everything up. I just stumbled on your blog and I'm so grateful for it! As a petite girl just foraging into the world of lululemon I'm so thankful for your blogs, especially since we can't try things on right now. Thank you!!

    1. Hi there! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I did end up going with the light colored version. Wore it out yesterday on a short food trip and a walk to the park.

Happy to help another petite gal!

    1. I ended up keeping the light one, but when the darker one went on sale I picked it up too. =)

I prefer the Hooded Define version. I think the slimming effect depends a lot on the color and pattern. I'm a size 4 in the regular Define Jacket, but a size 6 in the Hooded Define. The cut on the Hooded Define is a little bit more petite friendly than the regular Define Jacket.

    1. Hmmmm tough call. Black is flattering on everyone. I think in this case is do you want a more casual look? Then go for the hood. If you want a classic look stick with the regular Define. You can't go wrong in this case. Ohhh but there is one thing that is different. The Hooded Define is made of nulu- the regular Define is luon or luxtreme - usually. The comfort level is different between the fabrics. Nulu is way more comfortable than any of the others. I don't know if that matters to you!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Review! Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Size Small Plus Video

You all know I love my bags, and as a Balenciaga collector, I don't often stray from the City and First style. The Rodeo (pronounced like Rodeo Drive) really caught my eye. It gives off a slouchy Hermes Kelly vibe, but way more practical to use.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall. Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Small The Rodeo can be carried a few ways. It comes with a crossbody strap that is not adjustable but it is removable. Not sure why anyone wouldn't add a few extra holes to make a strap adjustable these days. Come on Balenciaga! Do better! The top handle is a bit too long for this to work anyhow, I feel like the top handle gets in the way. It sticks out and doesn't sit well in my opinion. I wouldn't carry this bag crossbody unless it was an unforeseen emergency and I really needed my hands free. This bag looks more chic carried by the handle or crook of the arm. It also looks nice left open with the help of the flap tucked in. The Rodeo resembles the Kelly bag ...

Review! Lululemon's Large Everywhere Belt Bag Size Comparison Plus Video!

Happy Friday! I can't believe it's almost Halloween! I actually have a dentist appointment on Halloween. One of my molars chipped and needs to be filled in. It's a tiny chip that I didn't even notice until my dentist pointed it out to me during my last visit. I'm not looking forward to it at all since I will need local anesthesia. Anyway, today I have a belt bag size comparison review for you all! For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.
