Review- Coach Willis 18 and Duffle 20 in Saddle + Birthday Weekend!

Last month I managed to snag this cute little Coach bag. It's a mini crossbody bag called Willis 18. The color is called saddle. It's a very rich brown that's also burnished from the sides which gives it a more elevated look. I love little details like that. It is made of smooth glove tanned leather with brass hardware. The inside of the bag is lined with burgundy buttery leather. I absolutely adore this little bag. I think it looks great on petite gals.

The crossbody strap is detachable and turns into a little top handle. The size of the bag is small. It's similar to a clutch, meaning only essentials. It can fit my keys, two card cases, my iPhone X and a lip balm.

I love the golden yellow stitching. I think it gives it a more modern look. The vintage ones have matching stitching so it's all one color which looks a little plain in my opinion. The stitching gives it an extra pop of color and adds detail. The back of the bag has a slip pocket. It can fit the iPhone X, but it is a little tight. I'm sure over time the pocket will stretch a bit to make it easier to slip the phone in. Overall, I think this bag is fabulous and I give it 4.5 stars out of 5. I took a half point off because I do wish it were just a little bit bigger. I also think it is worth the retail price of $350.

In other news, my birthday weekend was very productive. I decided to reorganize my closet. I was able to pick a few things to sell/donate. I wish I was able to pick out more things, but it's hard to let things go.

This section is mainly my work clothes, and a lot of wraps/sweater blazers. I have some tanks on the left for working out. On the right I have my bag collection and scarves underneath. I really need to work out a better scarf system though.

I have a decent amount of hoodies and outerwear. The top rack is sort of my miscellaneous clothing. A few dresses and clothes that I don't reach for very often. BTW am I the only person that likes to hang Lululemon bras?

And more bags! Much to my husband's dismay. 😂 I also really need to clean up that shelf with random stuff all over it. Sometime this year I think we might redo this closet and get a better system. We are looking at IKEA Pax system. When we purchased this condo, the previous owner used California Closets. The corners of the closet has a lot of dead space that we would like to maximize.

My tights and joggers. I tried to fold them up as best as I could using the Kon Mari method.

And what do you know, my husband did pay attention and bought me this Coach Duffle 20 for my birthday! He went with saddle since he knows how much I love the color.

We went to IKEA over the weekend to look at the PAX system. I'm wearing my new Sincerely Yours Wrap Sweater in tidewater teal. Absolutely love how cozy and soft it is. Also wearing Stuart Weitzman 50/50 boots. They're currently 60% off!

The size of this cute duffle is medium. It fits pretty much anything I would want to carry. It can even fit a small bottle of water. It fit my sunglass case, my two card cases, keys holder, a small pouch and phone with more room to spare. It's a really nice size.

Afterwards we went to Miller Union to celebrate my birthday. We cut back on eating meat this year and it's been challenging at times. We try to look for fish or vegetarian options. I'm really happy with the change we have made. It's more humane, better for the planet, and healthier. I do feel better eating less meat. I wish I actually made this change years ago.

farm egg baked in celery cream, grilled bread
(Very yummy for a starter.)

tilefish fillet, baby bok choy, broccoli, sunchoke, fennel, satsuma
(My husband loved this! I wish I ordered it for my entree.)

carrot, turnip, cranberry
(Loved this side dish. The turnips and carrots were delicious.)

emmer & goat cheese ravioli, mushrooms, greens, breadcrumbs, parm, egg yolk
(I wasn't crazy about my entree. I ate it but it was a bit too tart for my tastes.)

poached pear pavlova, lemon curd, pear sorbet
(Hubby liked this a lot.)

chocolate cremeux cake, creme fraiche, cashew ice cream
(I absolutely loved my dessert!)

That's it for me! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and here's to another Monday. Thank you for reading!

  3. Looks like you had a good birthday weekend! Yay for your husband taking the hint and buying the Coach duffel. I too have that bag, same color, but in the smaller size. I love it! Did your husband get the tag embossed for you? Mine fell off somewhere, maybe my car, and I found it right away. Then it fell off again. I had forgotten it was on the bag, something jogged my memory, and when I looked it was no longer attached. I have no idea how long it had been till it fell off. I had been everywhere, including another state, when I realized. So it's permanently gone. Guess this is just a warning if you're attached to that tag.

    1. Hi Kathy! Yes he did get it monogrammed. I am hoping it won't won't off... maybe I'll have him crazy glue it or something so it doesn't? Ugh, thanks for the warning. =( You might be able to get a replacement from Coach though! It doesn't hurt to ask next time you're at the store.

  7. Looks like you had a wonderful birthday and your husband was so sweet to get you what you wanted! I too have a lot of leather bags but since I’m now used to carrying the much lighter Lululemon bags, I’m seriously thinking of letting go my leather bags.

I really love your birthday outfit and you look super cute! Might need to get the Sincerely Yours Wrap Sweater in a this pretty green color! You’re a bad influence lol!

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed
