Fit Review Friday! On The Fly 7/8 Wide Leg Pant Woven & Wanderer Crop

Happy Friday! I'm currently searching for a summer pant that's versatile enough to wear on the weekends and as well as office friendly. Today I'm trying on the On The Fly 7/8 Wide Leg Pant Woven & Wanderer Crop. Apologies in advance, the photos aren't great. Store try ons are challenging at times for picture taking.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches and typically a size 4 in tops and bottoms unless otherwise noted. For this review, the store only had a size 2 available in the Wanderer Crop (I tried it on anyway).

Pockets pucker a lot.

As you can see the size 2 in the Wanderer Crop is too tight in the waist for me. For this pair, I would stick with your true to size. The pockets pucker out a lot, but I do think it's because these are too small for me. Based on how wide the pant leg is on the size 2, it would be even baggier in my normal size 4 which leads me to say these are unfortunately not petite friendly. The pant leg also kind of flares out in an unflattering way.

The waist hits my belly button for a medium rise fit. The material is made of Swift Ultra Light fabric that still felt substantial to me. It reminded me of windbreaker material. The length was also above my ankles. Not quite long enough to pass off as full length, but too long to pass off as 7/8 length.

Next up, we have the On The Fly 7/8 Wide Leg Pant in the woven fabric. The store only had a size 2 for me to try, but surprisingly these still fit me in the waist. These are medium rise and the waist hit right underneath my belly button. This pair runs large, but there is a drawcord to cinch and customize the fit. At 7/8 length these fit me like a full length pant.

The fabric is super flowy and they are wrinkle free which is a big plus. I think they're casual yet nice enough to wear at the office. However the price is at a staggering $118. I as much as I liked these and wanted them, I couldn't hand over my card. They would have been $128 after tax and I think that's the most I would have ever spent on a pair of pants. I'll be keeping my eye out for these in case they end up on WMTM.

What do you think of these two bottoms? Are you a fan of the wide leg trend that's making a come back from the 90s? I hope everyone has a nice long weekend! Do you have any plans? We just got a new couch and some window treatments for the living room, so there's a bit of cleaning up to do around the house. We also want to redo the stairs, so I think it will be a lot of housework in the future for me. 😒

  1. Thank you for the review and the On The Fly 7/8 Wide Leg Pant looks nice on you with perfect pant length. You can definitely dress it up or down.

I love my On The Fly Pant in Luxtreme fabric but wasn’t a big fan on it in the woven fabric. However, you convinced me to give it a try so I’ve just placed an online order for size 0 and 2, since you’re sized down to 2 and it fits well. Wish me luck!

I’m trying to post this comment using Chrome. Let’s see if it’s going to work!

    1. Oh yay! I hope you like them. Let me know your thoughts when they arrive!

Glad the Chrome browser worked. I know how frustrating it can be!

  2. I got some wide leg pants from Athleta. They are called "meridian wide leg". I love them! As you know, Athleta sells many of their styles in petite sizes. So they work well for me.

    1. I just looked up the Meridian Wide Leg, the petite is still 30 inches in length. =( I would have to get them hemmed.

  3. The 7/8 wide leg pants look great on you! I tend to prefer more tapered pants or it looks like I have stick legs underneath as a friend pointed out haha.

    1. Good point! However I do think the wide leg full length works well... cropped probably not as cute. =)

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Review! Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Size Small Plus Video

You all know I love my bags, and as a Balenciaga collector, I don't often stray from the City and First style. The Rodeo (pronounced like Rodeo Drive) really caught my eye. It gives off a slouchy Hermes Kelly vibe, but way more practical to use.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall. Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Small The Rodeo can be carried a few ways. It comes with a crossbody strap that is not adjustable but it is removable. Not sure why anyone wouldn't add a few extra holes to make a strap adjustable these days. Come on Balenciaga! Do better! The top handle is a bit too long for this to work anyhow, I feel like the top handle gets in the way. It sticks out and doesn't sit well in my opinion. I wouldn't carry this bag crossbody unless it was an unforeseen emergency and I really needed my hands free. This bag looks more chic carried by the handle or crook of the arm. It also looks nice left open with the help of the flap tucked in. The Rodeo resembles the Kelly bag ...

Review! Lululemon's Large Everywhere Belt Bag Size Comparison Plus Video!

Happy Friday! I can't believe it's almost Halloween! I actually have a dentist appointment on Halloween. One of my molars chipped and needs to be filled in. It's a tiny chip that I didn't even notice until my dentist pointed it out to me during my last visit. I'm not looking forward to it at all since I will need local anesthesia. Anyway, today I have a belt bag size comparison review for you all! For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.
