Fit Review Friday! Glyde Scuba Hoodie Boysenberry

Happy Friday everyone! I can't believe it's already eight days into March. Today I have a review of the Glyde Scuba Hoodie that I purchased last month when I was on a shopping ban. 😐 As many of you know I'm a sucker for purple and just fell in love with the boysenberry color.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and typically wear a size 4 in Define Jackets and size 2 in Scuba Hoodies

Glyde Scuba Hoodie Boysenberry Size 2
also wearing Werkshop Athleisure leggings black Size Small

After much debate about purchasing this hoodie in a size 2 or 4, I ended up going with the 2 and I'm glad I did as it is very flattering look on a petite frame for a jacket to look fitted. This jacket is short and hits me right above the hips. Which is very rare! I would assume for taller folks this jacket may hit at the waist. There's definitely no coverage on the bum. I'm wearing a slightly longer tank underneath this hoodie and I think it looks cute. The sleeves are long on me but I don't think it is too long that it bothers me. I've been wearing this hoodie all week and really love it.

The color boysenberry is a deeply saturated medium-dark purple. The fabric has a nice sheen but is not shiny. I prefer wearing this jacket with the Sherpa fleece dickie zipped up and the outer layer unzipped. It feels very comfortable this way.

Once the hoodie is zipped up on the outer layer it definitely feels tighter and you can see a bit of the dickie outline underneath in the two photos below. The other thing I'd like to mention that I found a little annoying- the dickie is not completely attached by a zipper. The zipper does not go all the way around. The zipper starts at the bottom of the jacket but stops around the shoulder and then the collar is only attached by one button near the rip tag. It does feel floppy and it take a couple of seconds to make sure the sherpa collar is lined up correctly when putting the hoodie on. A zipper all the way around would have made it more secure. I may update this post with a photo this weekend.

The jacket hits a little bit below my waist and there isn't too much extra fabric as I have read some reviewers state. Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase! I'm almost tempted to purchase the black one in a size 4 to give me a little more room in case I ever want to layer. The size 2 is very fitted and I can only wear a thin top underneath. So far I've been wearing this in 40 degree weather and it's fine. If it is below freezing I think I would want something heavier or I would definitely recommend sizing up if you want to layer for colder temperatures. For the sale price, I think it is worth it!

That's all for me! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Some more WMTM picks of the week

(Pretty tempted to get this.)

(I can't believe this is already on WMTM. Actually, maybe I can?)

(These were released just this week?)

(I don't need this, but I'm pretty tempted to get it! Someone talk me out of it?!)

  1. Looks really nice on you but glad I didn’t order it cos it would’ve been too short on me. I have a Scuba Hoodie in Boysenberry and the color is gorgeous. Not sure if I like the sheen of the Glyde Scuba Hoodie though.

Sleeves might be too long if you order the black in size 4. Don’t know why Lululmeon always makes the sleeves of their jackets super long ...

    1. True about the sleeves on the size 4. Guess I should just stick to just one. It's definitely a short jacket. Not for the taller folks!

  3. Hello! Thanks for the great review. Just wanted to ask if their size 4 is a standard size Small in equivalent? I'm a 5'4 (and a half) usually always a size 4 and Small. Thanks in advance 🙂

    1. Hi there! I'm typically a small sometimes XS, but it depends on the style and cut- Lulu doesn't seem to be 100% consistent. I can't say always a 4 equals size small. Usually is though.

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
