Fit Review Friday! Werkshop Athleisure Leggings Gothica Mash Up & Jackalope

Happy Friday! As most of you know I'm a huge fan of Werkshop. I've only tried their triathlon leggings and haven't purchased their athleisure leggings until their Black Friday sale. I'm a size small in their triathlon leggings and wasn't sure if I would prefer the size xs or small since Tina Z says there is no need to size up in these. I bought both to try.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and a size 4 in Lululemon bottoms. In Werkshop triathlon leggings I fit a size small.

Jackalope Size Small
(my tummy is all scratched up from Neko. Totally accidental.)

First thing I need to mention- the artwork on the Jackalope is so DOPE! Seriously amazing artwork. I fell in love with these at first sight. This pair is a size small and I think this is the right size for me in the athleisure leggings. Honestly, there isn't much difference between the xs and the small. The small feels like my Lululemon Align bottoms. The XS felt more hugged like the Wunder Unders. I would say it's personal preference because they both fit.

These are high waisted and hit slightly above my belly button.

As of now the athleisure leggings only come in full length, which is a bummer if you're petite like me. They are looooong. I'm okay with that and I have worn them out with them folded under and it's fine. The Jackalope really makes my bum look great. 👀

One thing I'd like to point out that may be a deal breaker for some of you- these do not have a gusset. Which means you do have to wear underthings to prevent some camel toe. Honestly it's not a big deal for me, but it may be for others.

I couldn't decide if I liked the Gothica Mash Up.  In theory I love the raven print and I love the moth print. But together it didn't look as amazing as I thought it would. Actually let me rephrase that. The back of the leggings look great. The front, not so much.

Is it just me that I think the backside looks better than the front view? I think the moon kind of throws off the symmetry. Also there aren't many similarities between a raven and a moth besides that they both have wings and fly. I wasn't quite sold.

If Werkshop ever releases the raven and moth separately in their athleisure leggings I will totally buy them. They are super comfortable and basically feel like I'm not wearing anything! I will admit the xs did feel a little tighter in the calves leading down the ankles but not enough visually to make a difference.

I ended up returning the Gothica Mash Up and exchanging them for a solid black pair. I definitely hope to see new releases in their athleisure leggings because I think I'm obsessed. I prefer them over the triathlon leggings for sure. If you're thinking about getting a pair, do it! I don't think you'll regret it.

Do you already own a pair? What do you think? Triathlon or Athleisure? Which do you like more?

  1. Ahhh glad you love the jackalopes too... I’m obsessed with mine as well! The material kinda reminds me of the thicker nulux. Isn’t the artwork insane?? And I love supporting a small business like werkshop!

  3. Great review - I'm a big fan of werkshop and never even considered the Jackalope but now.... I wear the same 4 in Lulu and S in triathlon. Did you ever try on the XS in triathlon? I'm curious how different the sizing is between XS and S. I think on the gothic mashup the issue from the front is that the waistband looks solid grey (i see a bit of differentiation but not a lot) If the waist band hand design I think they'd be a keeper. Aw what the heck I think I might just need those Jackalope.

    1. I never tried the XS in triathlon. The waistband on the small was tight as it was, so going even smaller probably would give me major muffin top. =T

True about the waistband on the mash up. Maybe that's what it was? But yessss you totally need the Jackalope!!!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
