Happy Friday everyone! I am taking some vacation time for the holidays coming up. More like a staycation but I'm looking forward to getting my workouts in everyday and not feeling rushed. Also looking forward to catching up on sleep and my tv shows. I might even binge Game of Thrones again starting from season one. I can't wait for April 2019!!!! Anyone else with me?
SO onto Lululemon's latest version of their Plush Scuba Hoodie. For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and typically a size 4 in Lululemon tops, but I'm always a size 2 in Scuba Hoodies.

I will tell you all right now, this new Scuba is AH-Mazing! I pretty much tore off the tags as soon as I put it on. The dark adobe color matches my hair. I dyed it last week and obsessed with wearing clothing that matches it. The gold zipper on the dark adobe is a nice touch. The gold really pops against the dark adobe color.
The inside is completely lined, sleeves and all with this super soft plush velour. It's like being wrapped up in a fleece blanket. The fit is relaxed and very comfortable. I love that the wrist cuffs are not tight. My Fitbit doesn't get stuck in the wrist cuffs. It's one of my pet peeves and something that frustrates me a lot when the wrists are too tight. Anyone else with me?

While I was trying to photograph the dark chrome, the light was not the best. The color to me is a pale pink. The velvet lining is a lilac purple color which elevates this hoodie from being plain to luxe. The zipper is silver and complements nicely to iced iris.
The hood is oversized but I quite like the silhouette. The piping is velvet which is hard to make out unless you're looking at it up close. It's a nice touch but I think from afar it disappears. This hoodie already sold out in iced iris and dark chrome. There's a few sizes left in the heathered black and heathered white. I'm wondering if Lululemon will release more colors since it's so popular.
I'm unsure if I should keep the iced iris. I keep vacillating between returning it and taking the tags off. The color is a bit on the light side, but it's just so darn comfy. It even looks great with some jeans and booties. But I admit this is a typical outfit for me. Kind of goes with almost everything I have in my closet. I do have a lot of hoodies though. Probably around ten.

As for warmth, it's definitely cozier than any of my Scubas. I would say this hoodie is true to size with a relaxed fit. By the way even the drawstrings are luxe. The ribbon is wider and the metal tips have the lululemon logo stamped on it. The details on this hoodie makes the price worth it in my opinion.
Out of all my Scuba Hoodies, the plush is hands down my favorite version. Did you order one? What do you think? That's it for me tonight! Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

I didn’t get one. But it sure looks luxurious! Both colors look great on you. Dark Adobe for the winter,, iced iris for the spring! Keep them both- fit looks good too. I would keep them both! Someone said it was a hand wash item?
ReplyDeleteThat's not a bad idea... iced iris would be a pretty color for spring! I don't think it is a hand wash item. The website says machine wash cold and tumble dry low...
DeleteI agree with Sherry. Both colors look great on you. I personally prefer Iced Iris but love the gold zipper on Dark Adobe. The material feels so soft and luxurious!

DeleteI like the idea of this hoodie, but didn't like any of the colors. I think the iced iris looks a little dingy and after a few washes will look even more so. I feel that has been the case with a lot of lulu colors like smokey blush and porcelain for example. I would have liked it in an indigo, cobalt blue or gatsby blue which is current color offering. 4 colors (2 being black and heathered white which aren't colors) is not much selection imo. I'm tired of the adobe which is just a darker bordeaux. Also, I'm not a fan of how big the hood is on the scubas these days, I rarely use the hood so I guess I would really like to see this plush on the radiant jacket instead!!!

The Scubas usually end up that way after a while.But I agree, I do think if they released it in some darker colors it would be more tempting to keep! I am one of those that do not own the Radiant Jacket because of the shallow pockets. I also find it a bit stiff to wear.
DeleteYes! Hate the feeling of anything tight on my Fitbit! Got the Light as Warmth in grey today and love it. I wanted a basic, goes with everything color and it's warm. Also keeping the Plush in adobe, the details are amazing. The Athleta luxe is stuck in some shipping vortex where 2 day means it will just sit for three days now without being processed.

DeleteYou’re right about the machine wash. Someone mentioned it was hand wash only. I looked on the website and it did say hand wash when it first came out. That’s why I said forget it! Thank goodness they corrected it- they probably sold more! Dang it! I could have used the 25% discount on the scuba. Oh well, keep both colors! Looks great on you :)

DeleteI have the Scuba Plush in adobe and LOVE IT! I think the fit is flattering and the plush lining is so comfy and soft. I wish that all of the Scubas fit like this!

ReplyDeleteThey're both great hoodies. The Scuba plush seems a little softer and roomier. It's not as fitted as the Stronger Luxe. The inside I would say the Athleta one is heavier and probably a little warmer. Out of the two, I'm sad to say that while I love Athleta, I prefer the Lulu Scuba Plush for fit and coziness factor. But it's personal preference!
