Sherlock Update!

Here is an update for all those who have been asking how Sherlock is doing. I appreciate how much you all care about this little guy. Sherlock has been diagnosed with the FIP virus. It stands for Feline Infectious Peritonitus. It comes from a strain called the coronavirus. The coronavirus mutates into FIP in some cats. It's apparently very rare and only 5% of cats end up getting FIP. Unfortunately this is a fatal disease. There are two types of FIP. There's wet FIP and dry FIP. Cats who have wet FIP usually die within days of showing symptoms. Sherlock has the dry kind. It's neurological and many cats live anywhere from a few weeks to a year with the disease. There are a few exceptions that I've read about where the cat can live for a few years.

Right now we have Sherlock on anti seizure medication and steroids to help with the inflammation in his brain. He's also getting an experimental drug the neurologist explained as something that's similar to chemotherapy. It's an injection he receives every three weeks. Sherlock received his first round of injections last Wednesday. He will have a blood test this Wednesday to see if there's any improvement.

He's still not able to walk. He kind of hobbles around. My co worker says he looks a bit drunk when he walks. The doctors assure us he's not in any pain. For that I'm grateful.

I've been an emotional wreck the past few weeks. Now that we know what he has, I'm a little more prepared to what's coming. We are going to do everything we can to fight this disease. I don't normally post too much about my personal life, but if anyone is interested and want to know more about Sherlock, you can check him out on my personal Instagram account- Akri_simi. There are a lot more updates and videos posted there.

I had a photo shoot planned this weekend but the weather was not favorable. It was cloudy and rainy so I will have to postpone the shoot until next weekend. Boo!

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

  3. I'm so sorry to hear about Sherlock :( My brother's cat was only 6 when he suddenly developed weakness in the hindlegs, lethargy and then seizures. We had to put him down, not knowing what had happened to him, but it makes me wonder if it was FIP. I'm praying that little Sherlock responds to treatment! Can't imagine how stressed and worried you must be. Sending you guys much love!

    1. It's possible it was FIP. Could have been anything though really, you just never know. I'm sorry that happened to your brother's cat too. It's just so awful to see them one day not being able to walk. =(

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
