Fit Review Friday! Tech Lux Jacket Garnet

Happy Friday!! I'm so glad it's the weekend. I'm super excited because I'm going to New Orleans for a short trip with my husband. We're going to spend Halloween there! I was hoping to check out a ghost tour, but it doesn't look like that will happen. The one I really wanted to see is sold out. I'll try and keep the blog updated while I'm away, but no promises!

Today I have for you the Tech Lux Jacket in garnet. For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and typically a size 4 in Define Jackets.

Size 4

As I'm still looking for the perfect fall jacket in a burgundy shade I ordered this in garnet. The color is a gorgeous shade of wine-red. I originally purchased this in my usual size 4 and as you can see it's semi-fitted on me. The upper shoulders and arms are pretty loose. The back is very roomy and I could layer comfortably. This jacket is made of spacer fabric. It's kind of spongy and soft to touch.

Size 4

I wasn't completely happy with how the arms looked though. I felt they could have been more fitted to avoid the sloppy feel. The sleeves are also ridiculously long. The size 4 didn't look bad, but I thought it could look possibly better, so I went and ordered the size 2 to try.

The size 2 fit much better in the arms and shoulders, but just a touch too fitted in the hips and lower body. The length of the sleeves were still too long, but it's an improvement from the size 4.

Size 2

The jacket looked very flattering from the back. I think it's almost a perfect fit. I have a very short torso which makes it difficult for me to find jackets that really look right and this one comes very close.

The front is almost too fitted in a size 2. What I didn't like is how straight the jacket made my body look from the front. (If anyone is wondering, I placed the tag inside the jacket which is why you see a rectangular shape near my chest.)

Size 2

Verdict? I was really torn. The size 2 is a better fit, but I wasn't completely happy with the sleeve length and how straight my body looked from the front. I ended up returning both sizes, so the search for the perfect burgundy jacket continues. I admit, I was really close to keeping one because of how comfortable I found it to be.

What do you think of the Tech Lux Jacket

  1. Love the color of that jacket! For the prices things are, unless I loveeee it, I think it's best to return and save for "must have love" things. :)

Have an awesomeeee time in New Orleans and Halloween!! Eat some good food and share pics please!

    1. You're totally right. I have to remind myself of that a lot. Otherwise I just tend to keep everything! But I've been pretty good about it lately. This one almost had me though.

Will definitely post pics from my trip!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
