For those who know me, I have a weakness for purses. And expensive purses. I've got a Chanel Boy Bag, two Balenciagas, Gucci, Givenchy, and now Coach. Okay so Coach isn't that expensive, and I honestly never really paid attention to Coach in the past because of all the canvas bags with the CC logos on them just turned me off. A few years ago they hired Stuart Vevers and have been rebranding themselves as the American Louis Vuitton. Stuart Vevers used to work for Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, and Bottega Veneta (just to give you a background). Recently with the Coach 1941 line, they really have my attention.
After seeing this ad with Chloe Moretz and the cute butterfly bag she's holding, I became obsessed. I had to have it! This bag is not from the 1941 line (I'll go into the 1941 line in a little bit). I also discovered it's from last years collection and no longer sold at the stores. Which led me to stalk eBay for awhile. The exact bag she's holding is called the Swagger. The name is kinda eh, but whatever right? I also found out she's carrying the size 27 which is a medium sized bag. A bit big for what I'm looking for to use everyday, but I found out it comes in a smaller size.
I purchased it in the size 21. It's pretty small and basically fits the essentials of what I need to carry everyday for work. My phone, a couple of card cases, a pack of gum, my inhaler, key case, and some emergency snacks.
Also wearing High Rise Powerful Gleam Tight by Athleta.
Pretty cute, right?! The long strap is removable but I like the option of wearing it cross body or by the handles as a satchel. The hardware is a black gunmetal which I love. The butterfly appliqués are individually hand painted! There's a few on eBay in both sizes right now if anyone is interested. I've had my bag for a few weeks now and it's definitely a keeper.
As for the Coach 1941 line, the designs are more thought out with glove tanned leather and pebbled options. The suede lining adds a nice touch of luxe. There are some bags that have exotic handles made out of python or crocodile. The 1941 line is completely different from what one usually thinks of for Coach. The Rogue bag is basically the style that defines the Coach 1941 line. The Rogue also comes in three sizes. Rogue 25, The Rogue, and Rogue 36. The Rogue is the medium sized version and is a good size if you're in need of a work bag. For me, I'm eyeing the Rogue 25. It's bigger than the Swagger 21 but not my much. It would be good for an everyday bag.
I'm actually kind of eyeing this Rogue 25 with Tea Rose appliqués. I'm not usually a flower kind of gal, but the black and burgundy combo really caught my eye. This one is pricey for Coach, retails for $895. I'm hesitant on spending full price for it. If I'm patient enough and wait for Friends & Family coupons for Bloomingdales/Neiman Marcus that are coming up in the next couple of months I might get it then. Hopefully it will still be available. The suede lining in burgundy with the gold hardware looks so lush!
Anyway, I have to stop drooling all over my MacBook. It's after midnight, which means it's officially August and I have to start my month long ban! I know a couple of you guys are also doing this with me. I have to give my bank account a break. Fall fashion is really dangerous for me so I've got to take it easy before it really hits in September. Here's to a spending freeze to reset my shopping habit and I hope the next 31 days aren't too painful! I'll be reading a lot of books to stay off the internet and I'll still try and have reviews for you guys! Meaning, I'll be going to the stores to do fit reviews and walk out with nada. 😅
LOVE your new butterfly bag!! Loving the tea rose too! Good luck with the spending freeze! :X
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm gonna need all the luck I can get.
DeleteI have a Dinky bag with tea roses, a smaller cross body with the butterflies, and my latest Coach appliqué bag is the Nomad hobo with tea roses on the shoulder strap. All are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI was looking at the Dinky bag with the tea roses in pink that just came out! I was wondering if the chain feels heavy after a while if you wear it crossbody? It looks like the chain has the potential to dig in.
DeleteOmg I love your outfit! The bag looks great on you. I also love your boots! What brand/style are they? I am petite with thin calves and ankle boots sometimes make me look like I'm wearing rain boots or something. Those look really nice! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! They're old Frye boots. I found them on sale at saks, limited sizes though. Frye Lynn Boots.

Love the bag! I have a couple of Coach bags I use for when I'm being a tourist :) I have also started reading 'real' books to keep me from buying stuff. I have sold a bunch of Lulu in preparation for the Canadian Shopping Fiasco!
ReplyDeleteYup, I just finished 2 books I started last month and now I'm onto a new book by my favorite author J.R. Ward. Keep it up!
