Fit Review Friday! Athleta Haul! Relaxed Tee, Essence Tie Back Tank, Threadlight Layering Tank, Jacquard Mantra Capri

Happy Friday everyone! I have not purchased anything new from Lululemon the past couple of weeks. Instead I've been shopping at Athleta, Werkshop, and Free People. I just got my Werkshop leggings in today and looooove the prints. They look gorgeous in real life. I'm planning on a shoot this weekend so I'll have a post ready for you all next week.

Here's what I have so far from Athleta. I'm still missing a few pieces that are on back order. For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and typically a size 4 in Lululemon's tops and bottoms which translates to PetiteXS or XXS in Athleta sizes.

I really love how soft this tank is and it has a nice drape that skims over the body. The length is long and covers the bum. It's the perfect tank to wear over leggings. The front is a little bit shorter and longer in the back. I purchased this in the PXS and the fit is really great. I've already pulled the tags off of this one and wore it out casually over the weekend. I loved it so much I also ordered this in soft lilac which is on the way.

Next up we have the Essence Tie Back Tank in cassis. It's currently sold out online, but it's almost identical to Lululemon's dark adobe. The tank is also super soft and reminds me of pima cotton but it's actually made of polyester, lyocell, and spandex.

Essence Tie Back Tank Cassis Size XXS

I'm still debating whether to keep this one or not. The fit is great, but I just don't know how often I'll reach for it since I can't tie a centered knot in the back for the life of me. The fit is loose but adjustable, since you can tie it as fitted or as loose as you want, or not tie the tank at all.

If I thought the Essence Tie Bank Tank was soft, this Threadlight Relaxed Tee feels like heaven. I really want to keep this one, but I'm returning it as I couldn't get it to work on my body. I feel like this would be more flattering on someone taller and a little more slim.

This tee is asymmetrical as you can see in the picture with my outstretched arms. Unfortunately this top does not come in petite sizing and even in the XXS it looks a bit too big. I bought this in the pretty silver bells color, but as much as I think it's a lovely tee, it just doesn't quite work on me.

Threadlight Relaxed Tee Silver Bells XXS

The front hugs my belly in an awkward way with unflattering draping. I thought the side wasn't much better, and it looks a bit shapeless on me. I did however, like the back view, but not enough to change my mind.

Bum looks nice!

Last, we have the Jacquard Mantra Capri in navy. The fit is high rise but still sits underneath my belly button. I really like the jacquard fabric, but totally forgot I already have a pair really similar to this color from last year, so I'll be sending this back, but I may exchange it for cassis. The fit of these is exactly like the Mantra Capris I have in abyss.

I purchased these in PXS and the length is 20.5 inches long. I love that these come in petite sizing for us girls who are vertically challenged. The calves are just a little bit loose, but not a deal breaker. (I have super thin calves). The fabric is soft and lightweight and very comfortable.

That's it for me! So happy the weekend is here! I was hoping the Coaster Go To Sweatshirt would have arrived in time for this post but it's still on backorder. It looks sooooo soft. I can't wait to get it. I've also have a post coming up on Nordstrom's sale! I do not have a Nordstrom card, so I'm patiently waiting for the sale to go public.  I'll have my picks coming up.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Love the tanks on you, but I understand sending back the tie-back one. This would be really impractical for yoga poses where you are on the back. Also really like the mantra capris, and am thinking of adding those to my collection.

    1. Since you also have the Mantra Capris in abyss, are you thinking of getting it in navy or cassis?
Agreed on the tank, my husband mentioned that's not going to be comfortable if anything is against your back.

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
