Guest Review! Athleta Mantra Capri in Abyss!

Sarah was nice enough to send me some photos of her Mantra Capri's from Athleta. Here is her review:

"Just got my Athleta Mantra Capri in Abyss today and thought I would share my impression with you. Please excuse the mess! I became aware of these from Cristina (aka Lulumum) did a review on the Sweat Edit, and I just had to order them! Luckily I had a good excuse as I need a new bikini which I also ordered from Athleta (which I also love and am keeping).

The size I am wearing is Small Petite (I am 5'3'', ca 125 lbs), I wear a 6 in lulu bottoms. I would say the fit is true to size. The Powervita fabric is amazing, it feels quite 'velvety' but does't seem like it will pill. It reminds me the most of Nulux or this year's brushed luxtreme from Lulu. It is quite lightweight but still opaque in the bend test.

The calves fit nice and snug, but not too tight and the mesh is not scratchy at all. The waistband is very comfortable and not too high. The colour is between Alberta Lake and Nocturnal Teal from Lulu, it is a beautiful saturated colour which I think will really pop with purples and pinks.

I am keeping these and can't wait to try them out for Ashtanga!

BTW: the top I am wearing is the Kettlebella in size S which is generously cut, and which I plan to use for hot summer runs. It's on sale :)"

Sarah was convincing enough that I placed an order for these capri's last night. I can't wait to get them. Thank you Sarah!

  1. Sarah, the mandra capri looks fabulous on you! I don't have many Athleta pieces but absolutely LOVE their Powervita fabric. I prefer it to Nulu. I own this and the tie dye crops in XXS (2 in lulu leggings) and will definitely buy more in nice colors/patterns.

Leslie, can't wait to see your lulu haul review. I ended up getting speed shorts in breeze by when I was in a store this weekend. I am also tempted by the uncovered muscle tank in white but did not get to try it on. It looks like it may be too long for shorties.

    1. I'm working on a post for Friday! It will have my latest Lulu haul. I'm still hoping the breezy by white light will come out in the Train Times Crop. The Uncovered Muscle tank reminds me of the Breezy Crossback tee from Athleta I was going to buy, but sold out in XXS. =(

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
