Fit Review Friday! Scuba Hoodie IV, Cool Racerback Pima Cotton, Train Times 7/8 Pant, Pace Perfect Crop, Hotty Hot Short II, Essential Tank!

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you had a great week so far. I have lots of photos for you in this post. I'm really into summer whites right now so a lot of the items I've purchased lately are either some shade of white or light colors. First we have the Scuba Hoodie IV in heathered white. I own one Scuba Hoodie IV but it's made of soft terry and I actually wear it quite often.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and typically a size 4 in tops and bottoms. Once in a while I will fit a size 2 in tops.

This super soft Scuba Hoodie IV in heathered white is almost perfect. I loved everything about it. The color, the weight, thickness, how plush it feels on the inside. There was one slightly annoying thing that made me return it. It just felt slightly too tight in the back across my shoulders. I'm being super picky about it these days because if I'm going to spend $118 on a hoodie, it better be perfect. I even ordered another one just to see if the one I got was abnormal but the second one I received in the mail fit exactly the same. Total bummer!! Sigh.

If I went up a size it wouldn't have the same fit and most likely I would be swimming in it. It seriously made me sad to send it back.

Next up I finally decided to try the pima cotton version of the Cool Racerback. I do not own any Cool Racerback IIs as I'm more of a Swiftly gal. The cotton is very soft and on the thin side. The length of these are similar to Swiftly tanks. The new version is not nearly as long as the original CRBs. It's definitely on the fitted side but because the material is cotton, I can possibly see it stretching out over time.

I do love the higher neckline which is great for us petite gals.  For $38, it's more affordable than Swiftly tanks that's for sure. I did like the color a lot, but in the end I returned this since I couldn't see myself reaching for it often enough. Fit is true to size.

I really love the breeze by white light print so I ordered the Train Times 7/8 Pant to try. I wish this print came in the crop version, but so far it hasn't been released. The material is full on luxtreme. They feel silky to the touch and fit true to size. The length is 25 inches long and fit like regular pants on me. These did not quite pass the squat test. The inside is lined white. In the bend I would say they're about 85-90 percent opaque.

The waist is hi-rise but not too high that it completely covers my belly button. I did find them to be comfortable. The leg is a little loose around my calves and ankles as you can see in the above pic. That is the main reason why I returned these. These would be more flattering on someone a little taller than I am.

Next we have the Pace Perfect Crop in breeze by white light. The fabric is also full on luxtreme. I'm not a huge fan of bonded waistbands because of how little stretch there is at the waist. This is to prevent slippage while running, which makes sense but I just don't find it all that comfortable. A lot of the reviews say these run small, but I found them to be true to size. I'm wearing my usual size 4.

I found these to be super flattering on me. The 17 inch length is perfection. They fit snug around my thin calves. Runners will love the back zip pocket to stash gels. There's also a side pocket on the leg to hold your phone. If I ran on a regular basis I might have kept these. I'm seriously hoping Lululemon releases this print in the Train Times Crop. I'm holding out for that. Similar to the Train Times Pant, these are also only 85 to 90 percent opaque in the squat test.

When I saw the new Hotty Hot Shorts in velvet dust pop up, I bought them before you could say checkout. I remember being super sad I missed out on quicksand even though it was on the original version with the drawstring ties. I'm actually much happier with the new version of these shorts. Drawstring ties are never flattering on me. I just end up tucking them into my waistband.

These wrinkle very easily!

Velvet dust is more of a pink and lilac shade versus a pinkish nude that was quicksand. I'm normally a size 4 in Speed Shorts, but for Hotty Hots, the waistband is so stretchy I can get away with a size 2. The 2.5 inch length is very flattering for petites. I've already worn these and absolutely love them. I have a feeling I'll slowly amass a collection of Hotty Hots. My Speed Shorts are finally getting some competition!

Last, I just wanted to show a couple of photos of my Essential Tank in tiger space dye black. This is my go to tank when I don't feel like wearing my Swiftly Racerbacks. I'm wearing a size 2 in this tank.  I'm also wearing an old pair of Alo Yoga Butterfly Leggings. There's a new version of these leggings that I'm pretty obsessed with. The butterflies are in gorgeous colors. Mine are just black and white butterflies.

Also wearing Ugg Islay Sneakers

That's all for today! Hope you have a fabulous weekend! It's officially summer out there, so make the most of it! Coming up next week I'll have a review of the Ugg Islay Sneakers I'm wearing in the above picture. I'll also have a review of the Go Lightly Backpack mesh mini also coming up soon!

  1. Bummer that the Scuba didn't work out. I have the heathered white in the 3 and live in it. Love the shorts on you 😊 such a pretty color!

    1. I knoooow, I really wish it fit like my other Scuba IV in terry. I guess I have to hope they release it again and I'll scoop it up next time.

  2. Thanks for your review!! I may try your outfits of last 2 of them. When I wear them I will think if you <3
I love white colors on you!! The scuba looks really cute. I can't judge tightness across the shoulders by the pictures though, but if it's not perfectly comfy, it better go. It's sad that the crb2 pima didn't work for you. It's one of my favorite. I have in black and grey. I thought the new color is cute but i guess too autumn-ish.

    1. Hahaha you're too cute!
I have about 3 CRBs left, the original version and I almost never reach for them. I may have to let them go at some point. I'm just more of a Swiftly gal!

  3. With the summer heat, definitely loving the white and light/bright colors too! Totally agreed on must 110% love the item to keep it with prices now. The heathered white scuba looks great on you! You should keep an eye on it for wmtm. Pace Perfect Crops look great too! And of course the Velvet Dust Hotty Hots...totally love those! Hope they make a Swiftly tank (I would even settle for CRB2) in that color too.

    1. True, if the Scuba hits WMTM I might reconsider it... or just be patient for the perfect one down the road. I have 4 Scubas I think, so it's not like I really need another one to begin with! Let's hope more velvet dust items drop next Tuesday. I'm also getting my Lululemon order today that I placed for the Align Crops. I can't wait to see the goodies in person.

    1. Thank you so much! Can't go wrong really with a white and black. Sometimes it makes the outfit look extra sharp.

  5. Bummer about the Scuba! I don't own any Scubas but would be interested as it gets closer to fall... Is it smarter to get a cool color anytime of year rather than wait until fall/winter?

Also, that Essential tank looks great on you. I'm 5'10" and how it fits on you is how I wish it would fit on me.

    1. Usually if I really love the color I would buy it no matter what time of the year. It just has to call to me if you know what I mean. Sometimes fall colors can be pretty redundant. Bordeaux drama, dark charcoals etc.

Wow you're practically a whole foot taller than I am! I'm sure you look awesome in all the full length leggings though.

    2. Thanks for the advice... I will keep my eyes peeled for a color that speaks to me, too!

Yeah their leggings are a great length for me! Just tanks can be tricky.

  6. So I finally tried on the Scuba IV and I agreed with your review that it felt tight in the back/shoulders. Do your Scuba IIIs feel looser back there?

    ReplyDelete

    1. It really depends on the color/pattern. Some Scuba IVs fit fine with no tightness at all in my regular size 2, others like this one here is cut smaller, I tried on 3 of the same one and they all fit the same. I have a alberta lake Scuba IV in a size 2 that fits loose.

I had the same issue with IIIs. Mainly the print ones fit tight in the armpits and back. I found the heathered colors fit much better.

With the new version, I feel like it's completely random and depends on the color/print. Super frustrating!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
