Fit Review Friday Athleta Mantra Capri + July 4th Sales!

Happy Friday everyone! This weekend for those of us in the US, celebrate 4th of July! I'm lucky enough that I get a four day weekend. 😁 Sarah, one of my readers convinced me to buy these Mantra Capri's from Athleta.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and typically a size 4 in Lululemon bottoms. This translates to a size PXS for Athleta.

These are made of Powervita fabric. These are high-rise, but I found the waist to sit right underneath my belly button. The waistband is comfortable. I found these to be light in compression. The mesh detail on the calves provide extra ventilation.

As you can see these fit me almost perfectly throughout and even on my thin calves. The length on these are 19.5 inches. I find these leggings to be very flattering on my petite frame. I also found these to be fully opaque in the bend test.

I also took a photo of the color next to my Lululemon Alberta Lake Align crops for comparison. They are both beautiful shades of blue/green. I found the mantra color to be even darker and more saturated than alberta lake.

Left Abyss. Right Alberta Lake.

Shop: Mantra Capri

These crops also come in black and white. However, the white does not come in petite sizing. Right now Athleta is also having a huge sale.

Speaking of sales, this weekend, Werkshop is offering 20% off site wide. Check back for their sale tomorrow!

I know I may seem like a handbag snob with my Chanel and Gucci bags, but I also enjoy my Jcrew Signet bag and Coach bags from time to time. The Signet Bags are currently on sale with a 25% off code: SUMMER

Coach is having a huge 50% off July 4th sale. Shop all their bags here. They even have some 1941 Rogue bags on sale! I have my eye on on this oxblood satchel that would be perfect for fall.

Lululemon also uploaded some note worthy items today in their WMTM section.

This weekend I'm planning a huge photo shoot for some upcoming reviews. Tons of Lululemon including the Chase me Onsie. More Athleta, and I also purchased a couple of items from Carbon38's Sayang collection. I purchased the Gili Hoodie and Lovina Tank

That's all for today! Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! Other than my photoshoot, I am also hoping to get a run in and do some weight training while hopefully eating some hot dogs and grilled corn.  =)

  1. I Bought from the carbon 38 sayang collection too! I got the legian pullovers in black and beige. They are both gorgeous. I wore the black yesterday and loved the fabric and the weaving of the back of the sweater. Keep me warm yet cool with the indifferent weather we have been experiencing. A note: need to watch the stitching. My beige one has some loose stitches on the back at the "v" that make me nervous. Hopefully it will be fine, waiting to hear from carbon 38... otherwise quite a stunning collection! The gili hoodie looks really tempting. Hopefully I will not break and purchase that too. the leggings are also super pretty but they would be too long for me. Would lose the pretty design with my short inseam.

    1. The Gili hoodie is really cute, but I'm not sure if it looks too baggy on me. I guess when I see the photos from this weekend's shoot, I'll decide then. I agree with you on the leggings, super cute but way too long on my short legs, so that was an easy pass! Glad you love the pullovers. I was debating on the pullover vs the hoodie but ended up going with the hoodie. I do think the weaving will be hard to maintain, especially through the wash. I haven't looked at the tags to see if it is hand wash only.

    2. Washed my black pullover and it was fine. Used a laundry bag with a mild detergent. Laid flat to dry. Looks great so far.

  2. Love the mantra crops on you! I hope you enjoy them 😊 I have worn them a couple of times now cycling to and from yoga and for sweaty Ashtanga 😀 they are really comfortable and stay put.

    1. Thank you for the recommendation! I hope Athleta keeps up the good work for us petites! Would love to see them in a purple color.

  3. The mantra capri look great on you. I have the same and it is one of my favorite purchases this year. The white one is completely sheer and not in the amazing powervita fabric so it was an easy return.

My faded zap energy bra and intended tank are getting here today. Love the faded zap color and hopefully it does not fit too tight to give me armpit fat like some recent energy bras. The intended tank has potential but may be cut too low in the back for my petite frame.

I am debating with the onesie since it will likely not fit me right. Has anyone received it yet?

    1. Oh I didn't realize the white isn't made of the same fabric. Good to know.

I am supposed to receive the Onsie today. Hopefully it will be there by the time I get home from work tonight. I'll keep you posted!

  4. Those Mantra Capri's look awesome on you!! Can't wait to see your reviews for the haul!

And yes ^ Amherstlulu, some of the recent Energy Bra's have bit a little tighter / less stretchy than before. But then a few of the recent ones are okay. I dislike the inconsistency, especially in speed shorts.

    1. I hope I actually get enough light over the weekend. Checked the weather and looks like rain for the next 3 days!

  5. I can't wait to see your fit reviews! I am petite too and am waiting for my chase me onsie to come in from my order this week. I have a short torso so I'm hoping it fits ok.

    1. I'm in the same boat as you, short torso. I am hoping that it doesn't make me look like a little kid though! I already look young for my age as it is...

  6. Those crops look fabulous on you. So much better than many of the lulu ones. I love the color and may buy a pair (although I really don't need any more yoga clothes!)

    1. I agree, these are a lot more flattering than Lulu. Even better than their 7/8 lengths. I would say these are about as flattering in fit as my Align Crops. I never need more leggings, but these are too good!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Review! Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Size Small Plus Video

You all know I love my bags, and as a Balenciaga collector, I don't often stray from the City and First style. The Rodeo (pronounced like Rodeo Drive) really caught my eye. It gives off a slouchy Hermes Kelly vibe, but way more practical to use.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall. Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Small The Rodeo can be carried a few ways. It comes with a crossbody strap that is not adjustable but it is removable. Not sure why anyone wouldn't add a few extra holes to make a strap adjustable these days. Come on Balenciaga! Do better! The top handle is a bit too long for this to work anyhow, I feel like the top handle gets in the way. It sticks out and doesn't sit well in my opinion. I wouldn't carry this bag crossbody unless it was an unforeseen emergency and I really needed my hands free. This bag looks more chic carried by the handle or crook of the arm. It also looks nice left open with the help of the flap tucked in. The Rodeo resembles the Kelly bag ...

Review! Lululemon's Large Everywhere Belt Bag Size Comparison Plus Video!

Happy Friday! I can't believe it's almost Halloween! I actually have a dentist appointment on Halloween. One of my molars chipped and needs to be filled in. It's a tiny chip that I didn't even notice until my dentist pointed it out to me during my last visit. I'm not looking forward to it at all since I will need local anesthesia. Anyway, today I have a belt bag size comparison review for you all! For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.
