It's my birthday!

So technically, I still have 9 minutes before I turn 36 years old. Close enough I say. Since this is a birthday post, I'll tell you a little bit about myself. Here's a fair warning, I'm not much of a writer and I pretty much write how I speak.

When I was 11 years old, I met my husband. I actually don't remember the first time I met him, but he recalls exactly what I was wearing. My brother is actually the one who introduced us. One day my brother tells me, "Jared is coming over tomorrow after school, you'll like him." Hah, did I ever. I thought he was super cute.

This photo was taken probably around the time he was 18 or so. He and my brother used to work at Gil Hodges Lanes in Brooklyn. That's the shirt he's wearing. This is one of the few photos he allowed to be taken of him. He's not a fan of cameras, which is unfortunate since I'm a photographer of sorts.

This was taken a couple of years ago.  I think he's even cuter now than he was at 17.

We have a lot of history together. Which I think, is one of the reasons why we haven't had a single fight. When my husband was 21 years old he moved from Brooklyn to Boston. I actually wrote in my diary that I was really sad he was moving away. Somehow even then, we managed to stay in touch over the many many years.

Before me and my husband ended up together, I was in a ten year relationship. It had gone really south after the 7th year or so. The last three years was me trying to figure out how to end it. Sad, but true. I was engaged. But I knew it was never going to end up in marriage. I just knew.

My husband was also engaged to someone, but it didn't work out. When I finally broke up with my ex, we were both single. We started hanging out together as friends. But slowly we both realized how much we just enjoyed each other's company.

Is it weird that he know's about all of my ex's and I know about all of his? Maybe, but I think that knowledge and the history we share is why I wasn't scared to quit my job that I had for over 12 years. Why I wasn't scared to move to Boston for him. Why I wasn't scared to move to Atlanta with him. Why I wasn't freaking out being without a job for almost 18 months. I just had faith that things would eventually work out.

I knew I was finally with someone I really loved and who loved me back. I could finally be myself and somehow he thinks I'm the most beautiful, sexy, funny woman he's ever been with. Do I question his judgement? Sometimes I call him crazy, which he replies, "I'm just crazy for you."

Moral of this story is, don't ever settle. If we had both settled with our ex's, we would never have experienced true love.

When we got married this was a tradition for his side of the family.

He's a much bigger Star Wars fan than I am, but I'm always game.

I'm really grateful to be able to spend the rest of my life with the love of my life.

I need to go to bed now, so I have to end this post here. Hope you all have a great Monday tomorrow! Apologies to the all the Falcon fans though! That was a tough loss.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
