Fit Review Friday! Athleta Haul! Revelation Tight, Polartec Powerlift Tight 2.0, High Rise Tropical Flow Chaturanga

Happy Friday! Now that I've tried their petite sizing, I'm really impressed with Athleta lately. It just makes me so happy that I no longer have to deal with baggy ankles (less baggy ankles at the very least). Finally someone's got it right for petites!

Right now Athleta is also giving an extra 20% off their sale items for this weekend with code EXTRA20. You can also receive an additional $15 off your first order over $100 with my referral link.

Today I have for you a few fit reviews. For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and usually take a size 4 in Lululemon bottoms. In Athleta I tend to be a PXS.

I've had my eye on these Tropical Flow Chat Tights ever since I saw them in an email from Athleta earlier last month. I'm a sucker for gray and white combos and this one is really perfect for spring. I don't usually do tropical themes in my wardrobe and this is actually a first for me. It's not overly done with the flowers. It's just the right amount of floral and it also helps that the colors are gray and white.

I went with the petite XS. One thing I noticed is if you're petite, you need to jump on any item that catches your eye because it is very likely the item will sell out in your size, and then you have to stalk the website everyday to see if anyone returns one. As of now almost all the petite sizes are out of stock. Athleta needs to raise the production number for their petite sizes.

The gray part of the fabric is really soft. It feels like the soft heathered fabric Lululemon uses in their bottoms. The floral section feels super smooth and stretchy.  The waist is not too snug or too loose and hits just underneath my belly button. It's fitted throughout the hip and thighs. It is slightly loose around my knees and calves which is a little odd because my Chaturanga tights do not have this problem. I'm a little surprised at that. I found these to be very light in compression. These did not pass the bend over test. The back is lined with white and is definitely see-through. If you do purchase these and keep them, wear nude underthings.

Even with the slight looseness around the knees and calves and the see-through problems I'm still tempted to keep these. They are super comfortable to wear and really flattering. I will admit that I do have thin knees and calves so if you're more average in that department it's likely you won't have the same issues.

What do you think? Yay or Nay?

Next up we have the Polartec Colorblock Powerlift Tight 2.0. Here I decided to size up in these because I remember when I tried these on months ago at the store in a XS they could barely go over my hips. The waist was a little too snug for my tastes. That's why I decided to size up to a petite small.

I made the right call in sizing up. They still fit throughout the waist and thighs. Again I have the slight looseness around the knees. The calves are definitely baggy but I think it's fine since for me, I would consider these more as hiking pants than leggings.

These sit right below the waist and the fabric is really thick and soft. The inside is lined with fleece. They definitely got me a little warm when I was doing the photo shoot. I plan on taking these with me when I go to New York next week since it's winter and super cold now. I also used to have a pair of Lululemon's Toasty Tech Tights which I eventually sold because I found they caused me to itch when I walked because of the seams on side of the legs. I'm hoping these can replace them.

These are completely opaque on me. As of today they're also on sale for $78 so the extra 20% discount will bring the price down even more. These also come in a purple color called wild raisin which is really nice too. Unfortunately petite sizes are sold out but if you stalk the website there's a chance someone will return a pair which is how I got my hands on mine.

There is also a side pocket on both legs that are large enough to fit the biggest iPhone. There is also a reflective detail underneath the pocket which is nice. The length is perfect for my height. I don't mind the bagginess for these since I'll be mainly wearing them outdoors in the winter time.

Last review for today we have the Colorblock Revelation Tight. They are sold out of the petite sizes so I took a chance and ordered them in the regular size XS. They're on sale for $44.99 so it's hard to say no at that price.

This pair also fits the same as the first two. The only main difference here is the length of the tights. They scrunch up at the bottom but there isn't as much bagginess as you would expect. They are surprisingly fitted throughout my ankles.

I also found these to be completely opaque during the bend test. Compression is mid weight for me. The fabric is light weight for studio workouts.

Overall I found the fit to be very flattering and leg lengthening much to my surprise.  I'm leaning towards keeping these too.  Let me know what you think of these Athleta bottoms! I'm also looking at a few other tights from Athleta. I'm curious to try their Powervita Fabric in their Colorblock Salutation 7/8 Tight and Salutation 7/8 Tight for a complete solid color. They also come in capri length

Last thing I want to mention, I have some good news! I'll be starting a new job when I return from New York. This means I won't be able to post during the day and be on top of the WMTM uploads as I used to. Most of my updates to the blog will be posted at night when I return from work. This is a good thing since I'll actually have some income to make more purchases. More spending power, yesssss!

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

    1. Thank you! I'm slowly starting an Athleta collection in my closet. I have about 6 pieces. Nothing compared to my Lululemon collection at all... but I'm digging the petite selections Athleta has in bottoms.

    1. I really like the Powerlift tights, but they are really warm though. Might be too warm for your needs? Inside is lined with fleece.

    3. Nice! I don't know if you are going to want to size up or not. If you like the snug compression feel stick to your usual size.

  4. Congrats on your new job, more income, more buying power! I only have four Athleta pieces: one pair of swim shorts (don't like it as much as lulu's speed shorts H2O) and three cozy karma pieces (love!). I am not sure about their resale values so I will only buy what I plan to keep forever. I like the first pair of leggings, but I do see the baggy knee and ankle areas. I have learned not to keep anything that is not perfect. By the way, your Indian Ocean Swiftly looks amazing. I should just get the LS in case the SS does not exist.

    1. Thanks!! I'm not sure what the resale value is like either on Athleta. Prices are a little easier to swallow if you find the pieces on sale. I definitely do not pay full price for Athleta. I've been able to snag all of the Athleta items either on sale or with rewards. Maybe pick up the LS ocean Swiftly but keep the tags on and if the SS comes out within that return window, maybe do an exchange?

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed
