I'm the kind of person who likes to have yogurt with granola or fresh strawberries mixed in. It's fast and easy and I don't really have to prepare anything. For the longest time I used to buy Yoplait but quickly switched to Target's brand Simply Balanced because of the sugar content. Yoplait has 18 grams of sugar per serving while Simply Balanced has 14 grams. I'm always looking for a way to cut back on my sugar intake. I have a serious sweet tooth. If I could have ice cream everyday, I would.
I also want to point out that I do not like tart yogurt. So if you're like my husband who likes tart yogurt, this post isn't for you. I like my yogurt tasting sweet like dessert. Ha ha.
So a couple of weeks ago I went to Target to pick up more yogurt and saw they had something new called Elli Quark. I took a look and was super impressed! Only 6 grams of sugar! I bought one to try.

Here's what you need to know, this is made of fresh cheese that tastes like yogurt. It's less sour, which I love. No added artificial sweeteners. No added sugar. It has 14 grams of protein. Only 80 calories! And it tastes GOOOOOOD. I didn't even add the granola to it, that's how good it is. I did add some extra strawberries though. So from now on, I'm going with Elli Quark.
Here is Target's Simply Balanced nutritional facts, just so you can compare the two-
It's aaaahhh-maaaaazing. If you want to read up more on Elli Quark- check out their website.
Added a little bit of granola and strawberries for this one. It's really yummy. I promise!
Oh and from Nike's clearance sale last week? My new footwear is here! LOVE THEM. They're super comfy.
That's all for today. Have a great weekend!
Quark is very popular in Germany and Switzerland (I live near Basel) you can also make a type of cheesecake with it which is lush. It's kind of like a fresh cheese so works well also as a sour cream substitute 😊
ReplyDeleteI always feel like european countries always eat better than us Americans. haha! I'm not really a fan of cheesecake though, but I would try it!
