Review! ALO Sunset Sneaker

Lately I've been browsing Alo since they recently opened a store near me. I've looked at their bags and clothing but nothing has piqued my interest enough to try until I spotted the Sunset sneaker. Low profile sneakers are somewhat trending at the moment. I like the retro look and I've been wanting to add a pair of low profile sneakers to my rotation.

For reference my shoe size is typically size 5.5.

The sales rep that helped me at the Alo store was fantastic. She was super fun and friendly to talk to. Turns out she just moved from New York and we started talking about the things we missed from New York like public transportation that actually took you somewhere, to being able to walk everywhere and of course the food! She was also wearing a pair of Sunset sneakers in black and I really liked how they looked on her.

I'm wearing size 5.5 and they are true to size, but if you like wearing thick socks, I would definitely size up. So far I've been wearing them with my lettuce socks which I think looks super cute with low profile sneakers.

These are the first pair of black sneakers I've bought in a very long time. I typically stay away from black clothing and shoes in general because of my cats. Flash is an orange kitty and his fur really stands out against anything black. Snoopy is my black and white kitty. He sheds so much that white fur just sticks to everything too. But I decided I really wanted one pair of black sneakers and I'm going to try my best not to have my cats shed all over it. I'm planning on using a protective spray and the lint roller.

These look great with ankle socks but they also look extra cute with lettuce socks. I should have taken a picture with lettuce socks. 😑

Let's take a look at the details.

The suede feels a bit rough to me, it's not soft suede so I feel like it will hold up well with regular use. The white laces are on the wider side. I am loving the low profile silhouette.

I could do without the giant alo branding though. I think once is enough, I don't need it on the front and the back of the shoe. 😆

The sole feels fairly substantial. It feels pretty grippy but I haven't worn it in the rain. These are 100% suede so I wouldn't recommend wearing it with any chance of rain to be honest. I'm still spraying them just in case I get caught in a surprise shower.

The insole is removable, which is nice because you could replace it with something else. The cushion isn't very thick and these are meant to be a casual "recovery" type shoe. Great for errands or light walking activities. If I want to do serious walking I'll stick to my Lululemon or Merrell sneakers.

These are quite pricey at $225 plus tax. I'm planning on wearing these a lot for fall and will report back on wear and tear. So far I've worn them 3 times and really like them. If they weren't so expensive I would consider adding another color. Alo has these available in 12 colors and I really like Rich Sun Kissed Brown and Olive Tree

That's it for me, hope you all have a wonderful start to a brand new week.

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...
