Review! The Row Agnes 12 Nubuck

I finally got my hands on this gorgeous Agnes in nubuck and after I filmed the unboxing, upon a closer look I noticed a flaw. Normally I'm able to brush off small scratches or marks on the leather (because let's be honest, it'll eventually get scratches and marks anyway) but the bag came with a wavy zipper. The Agnes bag is quite hard to get at the moment and once the bag is in stock it usually will sell out very quickly. My guess is the quality control hasn't been as stringent as usual because they just want to get these bags made and on the website as quick as possible to meet the demand.

Check out my video to see what fits.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall.

This bag is very simple to carry. It can only be carried two ways, by the top handle or by the crook of the arm. This bag does not come with a strap.

This bag is quite lightweight. It's a small sized bag and doesn't overwhelm my petite frame. The size is perfect for me. Not too small and not too big.

Let's take a closer look at the details.

I love the minimalist design. The only branding is on the front at the bottom and says in tiny print "THE ROW". The nubuck has such a gorgeous velvety hand feel that I love. I absolutely need a nubuck bag in my collection. For those who are new to nubuck, it's full grained leather that's been sanded or buffed to create this velvety texture. It's absolutely amazing to touch.

The bottom has no feet which means you do have to be careful when you set the bag down.

It's lined with soft buttery lambskin that made me gasp!

There's a zippered pocket on one side and a large slip pocket on the opposite side.

Here is the issue with the zipper. Notice how the zipper does not lie flat, but instead it goes up and down in a wave. After thinking about it for a few days, I decided to return it and will keep an eye out for a restock. It really made me sad to send this bag back. 😥

What do you think, am I being too picky about the wavy zipper? Or is it unacceptable considering the price of this bag? That's it for me, I hope you all have a marvelous Monday!

  1. I love the minimalistic design of this bag and like you said, it’s a perfect size for you.

I’m very picky when it comes to workmanship and for the price you’re paying for this bag, you have every right to be picky. If something doesn’t pass my quality control, I wouldn’t buy it no matter how much I love it. My husband often says “Nobody will notice.”: and I would say “Me!!!” :D

Good luck in getting another Agnes bag when it’s available again!

    1. Hi Andrea! Hahahah love your reply to your husband. Agree, it would definitely bother me if I kept the bag. Wavy zippers! Sigh.... I'm glad I returned it. Thanks, I am going to keep an eye out for the bag. I just need to be patient.

  2. I agree with you! For the price, the quality should be very high. It's not a cheap, fast fashion bag. But honestly, if there were a pile of plastic zippered bags at Target, I'd still throw the wavy zippered one back and keep looking for the "good one" in the bunch, haha!

I guess I'm trying to say that the bad zipper feels much more unacceptable here. Fingers crossed on a restock, so you can get it! At least you know that it's worth the wait now.

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...
