Happy Friday! I stopped by Lululemon to check out what was new and the only thing that caught my eye was the Define Oversized Jacket. I actually am interested in the Black color but they didn't have it in size 0. These jackets are seriously oversized.
For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4/6 and XS/S in Lululemon tops.
As you can tell, size 0 is still fairly loose on me. The sleeve length was okay since they have thumbholes. I liked that this jacket has a cinchable hem to let you customize the fit.
From the back and side, it's a little billowy since I have it cinched.
Here's the same size in Cranberry Charm. The red actually looks good but I don't like to draw too much attention to myself and I feel like red is a loud color.
It's too bad this doesn't come in size 00. 😆 I would have liked this to be a smidge smaller. Do you guys ever wonder if Lululemon is experimenting with vanity sizing? Like, "Wow! I fit in a size 0 at Lululemon, I've never been able to do that before!" And then you buy it just so you have something in a size 0 in your closet? I know this jacket is oversized, but they seriously could have cut these jackets a little bit smaller, they are huge.
I'm shocked at how nice the Cranberry looks on me, too bad I dislike wearing anything red.
I would still like to try on the Black version. The white stitching makes it the most visually interesting of all the colors available. By the way, the model is wearing size 6. I mean how? That's probably a size 2 at most!
That's it for me and I hope you all enjoy the last few days of May. June is right around the corner. Have a great weekend!

Wow, that shade of red looks really good on you! I think you should grab a top in that color for sure! However, I don't think that jacket is very flattering. I don't like it on the models either, to be honest. Too poofy and oversized. Lulu's sizing is so all over the place now! It's frustrating.
ReplyDeleteI found a pair of the Breezily Mid-Rise Pants on Poshmark in xs. They are just a bit too big in the waist, but I can live with it. Also, they are definitely not mid-rise, in my opinion. They hit way over my belly button. I found that folding the waist over helps, and also helps keep them from dragging on the floor :)
I would agree that vanity sizing might be at play here - the last two pairs of pants I've gotten in what I thought was my size have been too big (and I've certainly not gotten any smaller, lol).
Hi Lola! Hah, I was just telling my friend the same thing, Lulu sizing is wild.
DeleteThanks for the review on the Breezily Mid-Rise Pant. I would like to try it in the shorter length - 25" so that would work for me, but the wide leg will probably make me look even shorter. 😑Why does everything have to be so Oversized and Wide Leg lol.
I'll have to see if there's anything in Cranberry that I would be willing to wear.
Maybe the Define Hooded Track Jacket?

Yeah, the Hooded Track Jacket looks like a better cut. It's still oversized, but I think the shorter length would look way better. If you try it, I'd love to see a review!
DeleteI'm loving the wide leg stuff right now! I used to live in wide legs in the 90's, and I'm doing it again :). I feel like that style looks so much better on me than the skinny leg trend from a few years ago, and it's so much more comfortable.
I'll have to see if I can find it at the store. But would definitely consider it.
DeleteI feel like the wide legs today are even wider than what I wore in the 90s. I think I prefer just a little wider than straight leg. That's as far as I think I can go. I didn't mind the skinny leg look, I think I looked better in those than the wide leg pants that are so popular right now. But agree, wide legs are super comfy in comparison!
